Managed to scrounge up some old CPU fans and installed them into the workstation build's case (now they serve as ghetto case fans) before the replacement CPU coolers arrive. Had to remove the CPUs when I tested the fans so I wouldn't literally burn $30 worth of CPUs. lol

Mainly because I took the older Foxconn CPU coolers off and installed them to two other motherboards. Those were some good coolers, but they were not meant for the workstation, and I only used them because I had no others.

eek That is one scary Sue.

This is one of my rare pop-ins. My reaction to all this is: What the heck?????

Yes, I know where it started, but I still just had to ask the question since it is my nature. Just ignore me.

Well, I finally cleaned out the main webserver today. There was dust everywhere on the fans, but the the inside was relatively clean. There was a moth caught on one of the intake fans, though. neutral Upon removing one of the CPU's heatsinks (this is a dual CPU server after all), it was then realized that this particular one was installed backwards. The other one was installed properly. Replaced thermal paste, and turned the server back on.

For the workstation build, two cheaper yet powerful coolers replaced my old Foxconn coolers (which have since been installed in other systems). CPU1 is fine (less than 37 degrees Celsius), but CPU2 reaches almost 50 degrees Celsius instead of >60 C. This is an issue. neutral

I wish I knew more about computers and web programming, but that sounds like a lot of work. D: I hope it gets better for you and that it'll work properly soon. ><

...And I just found out that this is a very common thing in most dual MPX boards. neutral Seems my main web server board (Intel SAI2) is an exception. Even temps all around.

Now to get some case fans for the system. whee

Edit: Even better. Any attempt to use the 'Blend' option (really stresses CPU and RAM) in Prime95 crashes the system in a few minutes at most. 'Small FFT' (doesn't stress the CPU too much, RAM is practically untouched) is fine, however. It must use a lot of +3.3V rail, apparently.

Edit 2: [2013-07-27, 16:07 EDT] Got the actual readings from Tyan System Monitor. The CPUs are actually 0-2 degrees Celsius away from each other. But... I changed the thermal paste from IC Diamond to Arctic Silver 5, and the temps rose. Now to use the PC for a few days to see the results. Also, the +5V rail is stressed, about 4.7V. Really gotta get another power supply. Then, the CPU temps may fall as well.

What have they done to Levi? I can never take him seriously again until I see him kicking the crud out of Eren again. All of the lol's.
