That said, we don't work to please men, we work heartily as unto the Lord.. Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: and whatsoever you do, do heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ. We're to work with a singleness of heart as unto the Lord, not just working when people watch us and slacking, or seeking to please others, but out of a respect for God we are to work as unto the Lord Christ and follow the example set before us. We're to obey those above us because God has established the positions of authority and we are children of God unto obedience, not children of the adversary unto rebellion and wrath, so with a singleness of heart and with meekness and humility we are to work seeking to glorify God.
