This is neither shocking nor cultural...

We are running a lax ship here. Don't expect anything serious.

Everything here will be cheap and silly - even the monsters. Edits and customization can be earned with thread activity since this place is run a lot like its own game. Generally a large fraction of monsters can grow but the cats (felyne and melynx) will only grow if they start out as a kitten.

Points and items are earned from activity and are game prizes. Points can be used to buy anything from customs to edits. We give them out constantly so keep an eye out. Armor/clothing/accessories must be earned or bought. Our guild is located here.

Rules

• Don't be a punk.
  
• Using kitty lolspeak makes you a punk. (cat related puns are ok)
  
• Follow the 10 minute gap rule when hunting and searching.
  
• Customs will be available often however all cats start at the chibi stage. Kittens are a breeding only perk.

The theme of this shop is actually fairly complicated. It is based on a short anime series called MH Diary: Giri Giri Airu Village. The link should have a guide to all of the episodes. Below is a clip of an ad for it. It gives a good example of the style of everything.

This anime is based on a game called Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Felyne Village.
You see MH Diary is a spinoff game in the Monster hunter series of games. The reason this is a spinoff is instead of being a human hunting monsters to protect a human village you play as felyne protecting your felyne village... Below is a clip of this game.

In conclusion felyne are intensely cute and hunting monsters is a special kind of awesome. We don't care that there are a bazillion cat shops. None of them are as derpy and epic as us. If you don't like this then you can go home.

What the shop is in a nutshell:

Player Limits
There are no limits to how many felyne, melynx, or monsters anyone can have. When attacking a monster every user can only use 1 of their felynes or melynxes. Think of it as you can only "log in" with 1 character at a time. All items and points earned belong to the same user - they aren't split up between each felyne the user owns. Sadly monsters just exist as trophies. They can't participate in hunts.

Names
Please note that this is an old timey setting somewhere between cavemen and medieval times... but with guns and explosives! Because of this you should not have any names that refer to modern things. Also please note that these are proud warriors. No stupid names. Cat related puns are ok and encouraged though. The objective should be fantasy names.

Coat colors
Our rules on colors of pets are relatively lax. It varies a lot depending on the species though. The only rule set in stone is the coat color must be monochromatic unless the cat is the result of a breeding or a special expansion pack.

Cats: The most common coat colors are shades of brown to cream. Cats that are a crazy color like blue or green are monochromatic. Patterns different than the standard Siamese type are uncommon. Markings other than solid and tabby are incredibly rare. Both main breeds can have stomach markings but they are more common on melynx. The paw print mark on their chests are there for all cats. There is no exception to this.
XXXXFelyne: Their face markings are always the darker shade.
XXXXMelynx: Their face markings are always the lighter shade.
Monsters: Most monsters are a set specific color. Some rare hunts will be available with differing colors.

Breeding
When 2 melynx or felyne want to have kittens they can once both of them have reached adulthood. Culturally a partner will take offense if their mate strays from them but this does not make the villagers treat b*****d kittens any worse than normal ones. Despite the fact that we adore same gender relationships they can't produce young of their own due to the lack of science in this setting. However don't despair. If 2 kitties with matching equipment still really really want to raise a family of their own they can find a surrogate mother or father to step in help them out. Honestly if you can't find any other players that want to help you then one of emo's kitties can act as one.

Breedings can be bought with points and will be often gifted to active people that play love dovey couples.

Cosplays
Generally cosplays on felynx and melynx will be severely limited (rare events only). However there is a large loop hole to this. Dressing up Poogies is a popular hobby for those who raise and race them. Custom cosplay costumes for these pigs will be offered sporadically. Please note that we do not limit duplicates for cosplays.

For IC purposes the costume is cool looking but they won't be able to comprehend who it is supposed to be.

Profile icons
On page 2 is our owner's list. Click on a profile icon to open that cat's cert. The color of a cat's name is generally based on the sale or manner they were gained. For example a blue themed sale will have blue names. If you think a different color would fit your cat better it is possible to get your profile icon remade for a small fee. It is 1k gold (or 10 points) to switch to a color that already exists. It is 10k (or 30 points) to switch to a new color that doesn't exist yet. All preexisting color options are listed to the right. Please note if you buy a new color it will automatically become available for everyone (exclusive colors are not possible). Once a Felyne has earned 50 points they can trade them in to grow. Here are in game examples of the designs the final stage will be based on: example 1, example 2. I'm currently working on an official version for the shop. It should exist soon.

Notes about growing:
Once a Felyne has grown to its detailed stage its clothing and armor can no longer be changed. This is the ultimate stage and the final version of the art.
Only detailed stage felyne can breed and have kittens.

Equipment and equipping
The way everyone can customize their felyne and melynx is by earning resources to make equiptment. These changes need to be made before growing to the final stage.

There are more details on the specific sets of equipment in the next post.

The only way to upgrade your felyne art is by spending points to buy the items or items to make it. As more monsters to hunt become available new types or armor and equipment will show up here.

There will also be rare opportunities to win special limited edition clothing by auction or raffle.

Wigs and Hair
If you want your cat to have hair like some of the cats in the anime this is the place for you. Felyne and melynx don't naturally grow a full head of hair like a human does. On rare occasions they can grow a small amount of hair that ends up as a tuft or small blob like Leader's hair. Puni and Nyasuta are examples of cats that choose to wear wigs. These wigs are carefully crafted from dyed Popo hair. Despite being wigs they are magically bonded to a cat's head and can not be casually removed without help from the shaman.

Hair tonic: 10 points

Rub a bit of this tonic on your head for a week and a fine puff of hair will sprout. This is kind of risky but you do get to choose the exact color of it. Every hair tonic is made as a custom order specifically formulated for your felyne or melynxes needs.

Simple wig: 15 points

Most short and simple hairstyles fall into this category. Also very vague orders for longer hair styles are considered this as well.

Complex wig: 20 points

Very complicated or long hair styles fall into this category. Reference pictures for exactly what you want are encouraged.

Hair/Wig removal: 10 points

Did the hair turn out badly or are you absolutely sick of it? Well fear not. For a small fee someone will lop it off for you. Please note that once hair has been removed it isn't coming back. You would need to buy a new tonic or wig for that to happen.

How to hunt
Both your felyne and the monsters have hit points (HP). If a monster is taken down to 0 or less HP then they are defeated and you can gain 3 items from it. If your felyne is taken down to 0 or less HP then they can no longer fight and the monster will get away.

When hunting a monster you roll a 20 sided die while posting the monster's name. You can only attack once every 10 minutes. If a monster is taken down by multiple felyne then everyone that participates gets 3 carves.

What the roll means

1: Monster hits with special effect/attack.
2-5: Monster hits. Take 1 damage.
6-14: Miss
15-19: 2 damage to enemy
20: 3 damage to enemy

Hunting Herbivores
Hunting herbivores is different. To catch an herbivore you must roll 2 of that herbivore's die type. If you get both dice to land as the same number (2, 2 or 3, 3 for example). Harder to catch herbivores have higher die types.

Carving
When a monster has been killed or captured you can carve it 3 times. To carve roll 3 12 sided dice once. The numbers will decide what 3 items you were able to get as a result from the hunt.

Healing
If your felyne was hurt it will heal 1 HP for every level it is per day instantly. If you want to heal more than this you will need to use an herb or potion. (Information on item combination is towards the end of this page.)

Search point status: Lv. 1 Swamp
Expire time: Feb 4th - 9 pm (PST time)

Search points appear randomly for 24 hours. Everyone can search them three times (you don't even need a felyne of your own for this). As with attacks while hunting you can only search every 10 minutes (posting in between those 10 minutes is fine). The search point will say what one must roll to determine the search results. When you are finished searching please post a list of what you rolled. If you list the corresponding items you rolled instead of the numbers you will earn a point for being so helpful.

Please note that search points are posted randomly in the thread and are a perk to regularly checking it and chatting. If I see a lot of people around there will be a higher chance of a search point activating.

Notes on advertising
For every week anyone advertises they will earn a roll on a 12 sided die worth of points. To claim this you must quote emothunder after rolling to guarantee it doesn't get missed somehow.

Affiliates
We love making new friends and helping advertise for them in a mutually beneficial manner (as in we post their banner they post ours). We have a couple tiny guidelines for this however. To request affiliation you must be a staff member of some kind. Posting in the thread is the best way to go about doing this. We only accept small banners. If it is really huge then we can only do a text link. Since we are a B/C thread we really only want to link up with other things in the same category. However we will break this rule for anything that is also Monster Hunter related in some manner.
