Top Spying Techniques of Mobile Soldiers in the High Tech World.

1. GATHERING INTELLIGENCE

Construct a file on the company, when you're planning to pitch your service or product to a new customer. Stalk them--gently. Scour the company website. Search for local and national news stories about the business. Identify one individual (the advantage), rather a sharp, starving someone well short of the C-suite, but whose star is increasing. Begin with his bio dig.

You can learn more than you think from Twitter and Instagram feeds: Think food porn and post postings do not matter? Analyze those, and also you learn what actually matters to someone. Find out publications, his favored restaurants, and magazines, and you learn his culture.

2. ASSET RECRUITING

My grandfather used to say, "Shoot one quail at a time." At networking events, don't hand out 100 business cards, just to go back to your office and send out 100 form emails. You are a spy. You're brighter than that.

That'll keep your business card from landing in the generic stack.

3. REFLECTING

True pros in the PI (and secret agent) world apply one technique to crushing effect: mirroring -- the skill of subtly copying someone's body language or facial expressions. Often, we do it unconsciously; it is built into our neurons. It is why laughter and yawns spread, and babies mimic their parents' grins.

Interviewers and interrogators use reflecting to set up rapport with suspects. It's spy on mobiles a good hint you've set him at ease, if he starts to mirror yours back.

Reflecting says, "People like us do things such as this." And it can work even when your advantage, in a lot of ways, is not really in your tribe at all.

Conventional lie detection techniques are based on observing signals of stress. To appear more honest, control your pressure indexes. You could be judged as less trustworthy if you are nervous going into a cocktail hour or a meeting.

Her replies will tell a narrative, although it might take your interviewee by surprise. Narratives cause real dialogue. Actual conversation leads to connection.

BE GENUINE

Not one of this works if employed merely as a strategy. You'll come across as insincere if you don't take a real personal interest in your "objective." At the end of the day, making a real link that is human is worth more than just developing a fresh client. When you are able to achieve both, well...you are an appropriate operative.
