Nameless Wonder: 57

Kyrahn sighed, sitting in front of the mirror, her face washed of all the garish makeup that had covered it. Her body was covered in a warm silk robe, a robe that she had bought for herself about a week ago. Her hand brushed over her abdomen, where she could feel the little one growing.
She heard the door to her dressing room open and turned. Hakkai waited there for her, his smile warm and inviting. She jumped up, running to his open arms as she held him fast. Afraid that if she let go, he would dissipate like a thin mist and she would be left only with Homura.
She felt his arms tighten around her and she could only smile a little more, despite the tears falling down her cheeks. She tilted her head up, kissing him, letting him know without words just how much she had missed him. And he kissed her back, returning her sentiments before he pulled away a little, brushing her tears away.
“Oh, Kyrahn-chan…please, don’t cry.” Hakkai brushed his lips over her forehead. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry I left.”
“Shh,” She set a finger to his lips, “What matters is that you’re here now,” Her other hand slowly slid his hand down to rest against her, “with both of us.”
His eyes widened as he looked down at her, then into her eyes in disbelief. He didn’t ask the obvious question, he just swept her into his arms and kissed her again. He was crying now, and she did her best to kiss his tears away.
“Hakkai, don’t start…” She smiled a little, “…my hormones are bad enough as it is, without you making me tear up.”
He smiled at her, trying to wipe the tears from his one good eye, and he just held her. They were quiet for a long time.
“How long have you…” He started.
“About a month or so.” She smiled, they had shifted down to the couch in her dressing room, and she sat against his chest. “The others are, too, but…I want them to be able to tell their husbands.” She sighed, shifting as she rested her head against his shoulder. His arms wrapped a little tighter around her, holding her to him. “Janae and Faren were…are incredibly hurt. More Faren than anyone else, she and Sanzo were getting at least closer…” She sighed, “I don’t even want to think about what was going through Janae’s mind when you…” she stopped, shaking her head. “It…it doesn’t matter anymore.”
“Kyrahn, I-” He stopped, shaking his head, “There’s no way to say how sorry I am, for leaving you. Especially now that I know you…you were…” His hand shifted down to her abdomen, tightening protectively. Kyrahn couldn’t keep a small smile off her face.
“Like I said, it doesn’t matter anymore. You’re here now, and all the demons in this world and the next couldn’t tear us apart.”
