It had been a very long day for Zar so far. Normally prone to insomnia, this ailment had been made a hundred times worse when combined with jangling nerves about what lay in store. The result was that he'd had no sleep at all the night before he was due at Amityville. Much to his irritation, the movers hired by his parents had showed up just as he was starting to drift off and he had spent the rest of the morning directing them in the placement of the larger belongings and cases he'd brought with him. Once things were placed in his dorm he'd shooed them off and spent the rest of the time unpacking and rearranging his belongings with utterly meticulous care. He knew he wouldn't be able to relax until everything was arranged just so and had wasted a good part of the early afternoon just arranging and rearranging things like pens, folders and then eventually his spare forms, duplicates, stamps and the like. At least tidying at this point took his mind off his anxieties. Bringing order out of chaos always soothed him on some level taming the chaos of his surroundings seemed to transfer to taming the chaos that raged within his head.

Finally it was done. Everything in its place, everything unpacked, a room fit to live in, and one he'd have to live in for the foreseeable future. It was smaller than his room at home he noted but merely as a passing observation. He had expected it to be smaller, his parents had always gone for extravagance for extravagance's sake, large cavernous echoing rooms barely lived in. But this, he looked around with satisfaction. This..could very possibly given time, be classed as cosy. He was happy. It would do.

With his room established and therefore setup as a base of sorts Zar felt a great deal more prepared to face the world outside. He'd barely even looked around on the way to his dorm earlier, too much a shaking anxious mess to pay much attention to anything other than giving the movers the impression he was unshakable. But now the world seemed a great deal less daunting. He had a table here. And his pens, all nice and neat and tidy. He had a center. He'd be fine.
There was a lot to explore.
