There was no way of not noticing the elaborately clad figure walking down the Amityville hallway as if he owned the entire school and all of Halloween. The secretary trailing behind him like some sort of summoned familiar was not as obvious in comparison. The two of them were heading towards the assembly room - the gym - which was really no surprise. Post the Christmas invasion and all things related, an announcement had gone off regarding an assembly talking about special guest visitors to the school. Of course it was also a Moonday morning when the announcement had been relayed, so the attentiveness of the students was another question entirely.

However, it seemed almost irresistible, whether through curiousity or a smidgeon of sadism - mostly directed at Arel, that poor secretary-now-minion - to follow the duo into the assembly room. A scattering of students were already seated inside, because being in an assembly meant missing out on some classes. Really, the assembly was possibly worse.

The gold-and-black robed figure, a tall demon - judging from the horns - gave a slight nod towards Arel before taking a seat on the stage. The secretary himself continued to run back and forth, mostly fighting to get the portable ickycom in working order as more students filed in.

The Assembly

- This is a school-wide assembly involving... ??? All students are encouraged to participate and will gain IC knowledge of the current state of Amityville events regarding these "guest visitors"

The Ickycom announcement that had gone out through the warbling speakers of the school had not been missed by the reaper who stood in one of the wide, expansive hallways of Amityville High, idly flipping through one of his textbooks. Sparrow wasn't really reading the words on the pages, however; instead, he was surreptitiously following the path of the demon he had just noticed, making its way down the hall in sweeping robes of black and gold, a distinctly confident and careful air about him. Behind him bobbed a familiar, tiny figure - the school's scarved secretary, Arel, looking as though he'd rather be anywhere but where he was.

Sparrow, from where he was standing, frowned a little.

Who...?

But the Ickycom crackled and fizzled again, and Sparrow gathered his books together, still lost in thought. As he walked towards the makeshift assembly room - also known as the gym - he was already pulling out his skelephone, punching out a quick, concise message:

Lilwolfpard
Wren, darling, meet me in row two, section A in the gym.

He found his seat quickly and sat down, immensely curious as to what this was all about.

And hopefully get some answers as to the dozens of questions that were already beginning to formulate - and had been formulating - within his mind. All he needed now was for Wren to come and find him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, on the other spectrum of things, Ren was already in the gym, his eyes narrowed slightly as he surveyed the procession that made its way inside - the black and golden robed demon, followed by Arel - as well as the dozens of students that were beginning to pour in and take their seats.

Ren's expression flickered; he wasn't entirely certain what was going on, but the fact that the school secretary was making such a big deal out of it, buzzing back and forth like a bouncing foxfire, meant that it was important.

Or maybe he'd just drunk too much coffee that morning.

Either way, Ren watched the scene unfolding in front of him with a careful sort of scrutinizing. Since the school's "exams" regarding the closure of Amityville, all he had known was that the school, in fact, was not closing, due to everyone proving their worth. It had been a victorious moment, at the very least, but then there had been the incidents with the school play. That, combined with the Hunter sightings at the maul and the disastrous events that had occurred there, and Ren was beginning to feel a bit dogged.

He slid his phone from his pocket and sent the same text message to two people:

Kyrieko
Hey - I'm at the assembly already; come sit by me?

Grey Dragon
Hey - I'm at the assembly already; come sit by me?

He paused for a moment, then sent one last message:

As the ickycom crackled its announcement Zar had already been awake for several hours, the demon tending to forsake sleep in favour of paperwork, a near mountain of which he'd already rattled through. It made him drop his pen in surprise before he was once again filled with that horrible sinking feeling. Nothing that ever happened in this damn school was good. He just hoped this assembly would end in less burns than the other things that had occured.

At least, as he arrived, he realised he was somewhat early, filing into one of the front row seats near the stage for a better veiw, looking around for Nuru before he sat down. It was only once he was seated, with the usual meticulous care not to crease his jacket that he took a proper close look at what was going on, he was pretty certain he'd never seen the demon before, of course he recognised Arel.

So far, no running battles or fire, this was good.

But there was always time for that apparently.

It was an assembly, not a class....so Ashford had carefully set his helm atop his head, prepared for whatever may come. Jack knows it couldn't be as bad as everything they had endured over the last few weeks.

His i-scare or whatever it was called was a brick in his pocket, and he fished the thing out and slowly sent a message to Thackery.

nothing yet

I have reserved you a seat near me. It is by the door, left side, third row.

He sent it off, hmmming.

enoh love

Amrita, there is a seat for you, should you wish to take it, on the left side of the assembly hall, in the third row.

There.

....Ash did not really have many friends, so he was content to lean back, and peek out from underneath his helm at the strange golden and black clad figure who had strode into the hall.

Demons. He was not so fond of demons-- too arrogant, mean, and power hungry. Perhaps this one would be an exception....but likely not.

Surprisingly, although Roch knew a lot of people in the school, and many of them he considered pals, he never thought to invite them to things like this. He didn't tend to care if people were sitting next to him or next to someone else, in fact, considering the stupid text his dad had sent him in the middle of the last big meeting (yes, cat barking like a dog. He'd made it his ringtone for a day) he would rather NOT have people sitting too near him. Not that he would shove them away if they came--well, most of them.

He headed into the gym, looking around blandly, his eyes falling on Sparrow before promptly dismissing him, then going to the stranger. The last stranger that had shown up like this had turned out to be a hunter, and wound up getting them all killed. But the little guy--Arel--he wouldn't be following a hunter around, so Roch tentatively dismissed that idea...

Tentatively. Really, he thought, maybe he should start writing a will for times like this...

Nuru was distractedly wandering the halls of the ghost dorms when he heard an announcement crackle through the air. He turned his head to the side thoughtfully before smiling distantly to himself at the message. This could be interesting. He turned his gaze down both ways of the hall before running in the direction of the gym.

It didn't take him too long to arrive at least and he curiously scanned each row of seats on his way down the aisles toward the stage. Nope, not this one, nuh-uh, oooh - jackpot!

At the very front row, he spotted a lonely looking demon. Zar. And decided to quietly float right on over and sit next to him. Not saying a word even if he was noticed.

The only reason Mort knew there was an assembly going on was not because he heard about it through the Ickycom or a friend, but because he too had been in the gym at the time of the demon's entrance. The chairs had thrown the zomboil off, but he hadn't thought any extra hard about it; at the time, he had been hoping to get a dummy out and practice his FEAR some more, because seriously its aim sucked. And he was also hoping to never give someone a chance to skewer him again.

When the doors opened and the robed demon strode in, Mort was busy stitching his ear back on (the original thread having been nibbled on by a certain kushi kushi), and thus only heard half as well as he could. While First Aid 101 was passed, his fingers still fumbled a bit to get it correct, and by the time his ear was on proper (seemingly), several students had already arrived and sat down. not one to particularly care (and somewhat self-conscious that he might not be able to hear everything), he chose to sit in the front row and slumped into a chair somewhere near the middle, draping an arm behind the chair as he turned to see exactly who else was inside the gym. His left ear, the one who Daisy had decided to chew upon, was a tad more skewed and pointed outward than his right.

Several faces he somewhat recognized, one he did not. But Ren and Roch were distinguished pretty quickly, and Mort gave a flick of the wrist in greeting when each individually appeared to look in his direction. A neutralist greeting, since he didn't know how either boil felt at the moment; last he saw the gryphon, he'd practically told him (accidentally) that he had had the luxury of almost seeing his ghoulfriend naked, and last he saw Roch, well . . .

There was no real need for the announcement on the ickycom for Edel to realise that they had a special visitor that day – she had just seen him walking ... or waltzing down the halls as he made his way through to the gym. She found it immensely strange how Arel was tottering after the gold and black clad figure, then again, it might just be part of the things secretaries do. And then when the ickycom announcement was made, the frost demon had decided that she would very much like to find out what this was all about.

Entering the gym, the ghoul spotted a few familiar people gathered there, most noticeably the punk reaper with his purple mohawk. Somewhere over there was a reaper she had met but never spoke to and Ren ...

She wasn't too interested in partaking in any conversation now actually, hence the ghoul hung around the back of the gym, her eyes focused on the guest sitting on stage whilst fiddling with her eyephone.

What was it about now? Closure of the school... Again? Unlikely, judging from the way Arel was running around. Or at least, the frost demon would have thought the secretary would have been a little more antsy and agitated if it were the case, instead of attending to the guest rather frantically. She could be reading too much into it, but given what has happened in school in the past few months, anything was possible. Nonetheless, the ghoul was undeniably interested in what was there to come.

Perhaps she should take a seat, but there was no rush. The ghoul kind of preferred to remain standing as it gave her a better view of their mysterious guest. Chances are, they would all be called to settle down later but for now... their guest was just going to get a few intense stares.

Tybalt was already seated somewhere among the crowd. His feet propped up on the seat in front of him as he eyed the demon with curiosity. He didn't particularly care for assembly's, even when it meant skipping out on classes. In fact, he normally made a point to avoid them if at all possible, but that was before all the disasters started happening. Now he tried to attend each and every one, in hopes that he'd be able to find out more about the schools situation--their situation.

Stifling a yawn, he leaned back into his seat.

That was his original plan... yes, but... the assembly hadn't even started yet and already, the black dog was beginning to wonder if he made the wrong choice in attending. He was so damn bored! When were they going to start?

Before he could voice any complaints, his phone went off. The sudden noise almost launching the black dog from his seat with a start. It was only by some miracle that he somehow managed to remain seated.

"Jack damned piece of--" He growled, pulling the phone out from his pocket and giving the message a look.

It was from... Ren? Why? What reason would he have to message hi---PUPPIES!? What was he accusing him of this time!? He never did anything of the---ohhh...

So that's what this was about. This was about those pets.

With a devious grin, the black dog typed his own message.

There was no reason not to be here.

That’s what Hel had told herself as she entered the gym, and took a moment to look over who had arrived thus far. She noted Roch’s bright purple hair, Sparrow and his elegant attire, and then there was Mort sitting all by his lonesome in the front. Oh the front…that would be a good place to be. With a bit of a grin, the reaper ghoul strode there, giving a hearty wave to those she knew before plopping down into a seat right next to the zombie boil.

Mort!” The ghoul greeted, maybe a bit too loudly for how close they were sitting together. “Good to see you friend, how are you fairing?” As she waited for a reply, her gaze swept towards the front, taking in the appearance of the secretary and the black and gold adorned figure curiously.

If anyone cared to look closely at Gene that morning, they'd notice one of two things different about the usually peppy, caffeinated ghoul. One was that she had a few burn marks around her right leg, which was left limp as she floated down the hallway to the gym. The second was that she had a certain droopiness to her, almost like a kicked puppy. She'd ran out of beans the night before, and just when she was about to go buy some more the announcement from the Ickycom rang out, telling her that she needed to go to an assembly about something or other.

The Doppelganger sighed the whole way there, not bothering to give anyone a cheery wave or even a head nod. She needed her black gold. Maybe there would be someone comfortable to sleep on in the assembly.

She saw the familiar face of a Zombie boil that she knew mostly from Groanspring, and forced her body into the seat next to him. She then promptly laid her head on his shoulder, and closed her eyes.

Aksaja glanced up at the Ickycom when it crackled to life, having been wandering through the halls of the re-appeared campus. It didn't really look that much different, but it felt different to be here. After the school had nearly been closed, and the events of Christmas . . . . well, was it any real wonder that it was odd, walking these halls?

With a slight shrug, Aksaja turned his steps toward the gym, filing in with the rest of the students to see what this was all about.

While Invictus liked to stay out of the affairs of the students as much as he was able to while giving his assistance, something about this...gathering...had brought his interest, summoning the Heir to Conquest to the gym to see what was happening. It was good to stay informed, after all, and he imagined that if he didn't go, it would have been difficult for the girls to follow, after all.

Conquest was first, thus he made a point to lead, to a certain extent. Still, he didn't sit amongst the other students, simply finding a place to linger quietly as he observed, arms folded as he watched the scene unfolding.

-----

Shehk was tired. She looked simply exhausted, curled up in her seat with her legs tucked against her, her ears drooped and her head resting listlessly against the back of said seat. She looked at the demon - both of the demons, actually - up on the stage and frowned, before she sighed and again bumped her head against the seat she'd taken up.

Even actually sleeping wasn't helping her get her energy back. She was just...tired.

-----

Tomoko, on the other hand, seemed bright and alert, full of energy as she nearly took up another seat with her tails, fussing over them as she now had a throne-of-tails to her name, settled in with an alert look on her face, her ball of stars forming in her lap as she brushed her hand over it adoringly.

Preeeecious.

"I wonder what this is about...."

-----

Sura sat at the back of the gym, staring towards the demons assembled at the front suspiciously - or as suspicious as a neutral face could be, really.

Herryk was feeling pretty good, all things considered.

Entering the gym with long strides, caught sight of Mort and quickly moved to sit next to the zombie. He hadn't seen Freya, but if his ghoulfriend decided to attend the assembly he'd be sure to wave her down. Hel was also there, and he gave the valkyrie a big, broad smile.

"Hello, friends."

The lumbering undead wedged himself next to Mort and clapped the other boil on the shoulder. How did Mort always find himself among the nords? It was hard to say. A mystery, even.

"What is this all about?"

A certain feline entered from the back of the gym with curiosity apparent in her eyes, glancing back and fourth from familiar faces to not-so-familiar faces. It didn't really matter whether Riyo recognized anybody in there. She had made it resoundingly clear that her seat would be in the very last row, ears standing at attention for the assembly to begin. Hm. What could this demon possibly have to say to all of them?

While she waited, the ghoul looked down at her eyephone and opened up one of the 'games' she'd recently downloaded. Hah. Games. She never thought she'd have such a trivial thing anywhere close to the items she used for business.
