You're best to check out Z!F Guide to Rings to see details on what you need.

Your CL is calculated using the following formula, where R1 is your highest CL ring, R2 second highest & so on

Character CL = [R1*8+R2*7+R3*6+R4*5+R5*4+R6*3+R7*2+R1*8]/36

Basically in short terms, your highest CL rings affects your CL more than your lower ones.

Depending on your levelling strategy, you will level up at different speeds, but the whole thing is pretty maths heavy.
