Nuclear Werewolf

I think, not this NaNo but next NaNo, I ought to consider a story with a 90-year-old protagonist. Because I've joked about that before, but it may be an interesting challenge.

"Granny Saves the World" may be a good working title. Because you don't have to be young to stir up trouble.

Alberic- DO IIIIIIIT
I remember years ago I read an article about nuns north of Europe ish area that were like 90+ and their brains were the age of like 50 year olds cause they get new assigned hobbies every 4-5 years or something. And it kept their minds fresh and learning biggrin

Jade: Now this prompt wouldn't have anything to do with the death in your story now would it?

hito - Just listing off examples. I write Urban Fantasy, so all of those issues are potential things for me to touch on.

I'd suggest doing some web searches on NA fantasy and seeing what comes up. You don't have to read them but summaries might give you an idea as to how this genre does, if it does anything at all.

Honestly I feel like fantasy doesn't really need a NA label and that it's more common for Urban Fantasy stuff or other stuff set closer to a semi-modern world where real life issues that people that age are likely to connect with happen.

speaking of, I need to change the poll now, too, since I killed the character off.

I feel like I should write when mildly tipsy more often~ I'm getting gems like this:

There is nothing more disappointing than answering your door expecting your pizza to be delivered and finding a maid there with a toilet bowl brush in hand instead.

Don't you judge me, I'm a rare mood~ cat_rofl

Al - Do eeeet!

Mahala's 200-something, but she's a vampire and died in her mid-forties, so she's an oddball. She classes herself as an old lady and is a little leery of new technology. xd When she's introduced she's never actually driven a car. Over the course of the book she comes to recognize that even though it was uncommon for women to drive not that long ago it's a really useful skill and she really ought to learn it.

I plan to bring this up in the future. Because I can only imagine that teaching an ancient vampire how to drive a car would be terrifying, but also very entertaining in its own way. Great reflexes. Once she figures out how cars work.

Jade: Right.

What's this one gonna be? I'm kind of excited to answer a poll with this character.

Phade: It sounds like the set up to something that certainly could use an explanation and launch into a story.

Hito;- Did you write it on the spot yesterday?

I'm just listening to some music and reading through what I've written so far : 3

Lyka - No it's a couple months old now. I've got an older section for that same story.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" A manly voice called down to the young man. "I told you before, don't play in that! You'll get stuck!"

"I will not!" the other argued. He was dressed in pretty light clothing to be hanging around a blackberry bush in a swamp. A moment later he grumbled, clinging to a fallen tree trunk while his legs began to sink under the muck. "Uh... I'm sorry, Cyril."

"What's that? I thought I heard a fool calling me." Cyril asked, leaning against a tree with his arms crossed.

"I'm sorrrrr~yyy!" came the whine. "Please help me out."

Shaking his head with a chuckle, Cyril spoke, "All right, hold on." He carefully climbed down the trees, sticking to rocks and hard surfaces. Once he was close enough to the other, he held out the sheath of his sword to him. "Grab on, Hiero."

He nodded, grabbing ahold of the end. After some grunts and pulling, Hiero was standing up next to Cyril gasping for air and shivering.

"Look at that. You're all muddy and wet." Cyril lectured, putting his sword back to his hip.

Hiero giggled a bit, looking down at himself, "At least I didn't lose my shoes in there like last time."

"Yeah, but you forgot a change of clothes so you'll be cold walking back." Cyril crossed his arms.

Whimsi - One of these days I'm going to get ballsy and decide that I should try my hand at humor.

Or maybe for shits and giggles I should just attempt to write 5k while drunk, just to see what happens. cat_ninja

Augh... Memorial day weekend, why are you so far away?
