He's in line for a brand new release of those star headphones, the noise cancelling ones so he doesn't hear his buzzing over the tunes. He must've been waiting there for ages since he's standing with his arms crossed like that.

He's waiting to get into the afterparty of the awards show. One of the composers for a different movie tripped into a champagne tower and they're only letting a few guests in at a time until that gets cleaned up.
