[Pants!]It took a moment for Ivan's question regarding the large mechanical entity that hovered before the crew to register. She was momentarily frozen with fear but was snapped out of it when she heard him say the word Reaper. Without even taking her eyes of Precursor she nodded. Her answer was a little bit hard to get out, her mouth had dried up considerably and her voice was shaky and barely above a whisper. "Yeah, yeah that's a Reaper." Hopefully Ivan was enjoying his first encounter.

[Pants!]The Amazon flew up into range but it did little to ease the constantly increasing feeling of dread that was building up her chest as of now. Even they managed to board the Amazon they still had the Reaper's weapons to contend with and even a glancing blow would spell instant doom for the crew. Before they could even start to board Precursor had spotted the tiny ship and turned it's sights upon the Amazon, and to make matters worse it spoke in the same terrifying voice from before. "You will not pursue." The very sound made Veronica's skin crawl and when Precursor charged its laser up and opened fire on the Amazon. But it had missed thankfully, and the weapon did take quite a long time to recharge after a shot so this gave the crew some much needed breathing room to make their escape.

[Pants!]Skipper had found the best route out and was already climbing up some rubble towards the roof. Veronica hoisted up Ivan who had started to slip from her grasp during her brief fear induced paralysis and set off towards the rubble. She had managed to break into a jog that felt like her legs were being stabbed repeatedly but she showed no signs of slowing down at all. This was a most urgent matter and she was not going to let Ivan die due to her physical weakness. When she arrived at the first part of the rubble it was a simple matter to hoist Ivan up and then climb up herself, but the higher she climbed the steeper the rubble got and she was already becoming fatigued from the constant lifting.

[Pants!] Only two more rubble steps bared her way to the roof, Veronica sighed wearily, her breaths had become pained and her hair clung to her sweat stained face but she couldn't let it stop her, she glanced behind to find Jask effortlessly making his way up to the roof. She waved to Jask to get his attention. "Help me!" she cried out with her voice layered with desperation and terror. Jask thankfully obliged and remained at the bottom of the two remaining steps to give Ivan a boost while Veronica pulled him up. Soon enough they had made it to the roof and the open airlock of the Amazon stood before them. Now things got slightly more trickier as Veronica lacked the strength to physically throw the man. So that left only one alternative. Veronica inched as close to the edge as she could and placed the palm of her right hand on Ivan's back. She'd have to get perfectly or else they'd have a dead Russian on their hands. She stared at the open airlock for a few seconds before pulling her hand back. It began to glow with biotic energy before she slammed it into Ivan's back, the man was lifted off of his feet and landed squarely in the airlock with a painful sounding thump. Now that Ivan was safely on board it was Veronica's turn to jump. After a short running start she leapt towards the airlock and made it safely inside but her landing was botched and she staggered forward before falling flat on her face.

Na'alSalarian Engineer

Na'al's attention was still fixated on the dark machine hovering in place over the broken facility. It wasn't until the thing spoke that Na'al was able to snap out of his fear instilled paralysis. He did not even know what to do now. There was no possible means of fighting that reaper. Hell, the whole team couldn't even defeat those two super soldiers without a comrade being brutally murdered in front of everyone and the captain losing his hand.

When the reaper's laser had finished charging and let it loose to shoot down the ship, Na'al almost lost his balance from the rumbling caused by when the beam hit the nearby ground somewhere. He was amazed by the piloting skills of the two pilots behind the wheel so to speak of the Amazon and how they dodged the reaper's attacks with astonishing maneuvers the Salarian didn't know was possible for a ship of that class.

Just then, the captain's orders rung in Na'al's head and he took a very quick second to regain his wits before moving. He was now less focused on the reaper and more so on keeping up with everyone as they all ran towards an exit. It was at times like these where he appreciated being in the military and going through the training as the stamina he had was really paying off. The Salarian still had his weapon at the ready just in case of any more threats like other Dark Moons, Husks, or worse like the super soldiers. With them in mind however, Na'al looked back and though he couldn't see him, he couldn't help but wonder what was going to become of Korvis' body. That human, Duncan had said they wanted the team so that they could be made into what he and his pawns were. Now they had one such corpse.

Once on the roof, Na'al stopped and bent so that he could rest his hands on his knees and catch his breath. He could feel his pulse pounding in every vein and artery in his body. The stress was almost too much. He just didn't know what was going to come next to try and kill the team. He didn't stop for more than seven or eight seconds though as he had to keep moving now that the Amazon was waiting with an open airlock. He began to run as fast as he could so that he could put enough momentum into a jump. The next thing he felt after his jump was an immense pain on his chest that almost brought the Salarian to tears. Never the less, he pulled himself up and held his chest with one arm and was ready to assist anyone who required it.

[mmdatass]The fear-induced numbness in her arms lowered them for the asari. It wasn't until Skipper had issued another order that she was freed from its grasp, and with the rest of the group, Nali turned to run back to the roof.

[mmdatass]As they ran, she kept an eye on the captain. It wasn't the time for admiration, but she had noted in the back of her mind that he was doing remarkably well for someone who'd just lost his hand. His head was still on his shoulders, and from what she could tell, he had yet to fall into shock, something often claimed even the most seasoned of warriors. Either way, it looked like he was gonna make it, so Nali's pace slowed as she looked over her shoulder to the rest of the team. She knew they were following, of course. It was just a matter of how quickly they were doing so.

[mmdatass]The first one she looked for was Karii, and she soon found the quarian in the hold of Tom Freedom (who was eventually the first to get to the ship). Then there was Ivan who, not surprisingly, was at the back of the group with Veronica under his arm. With both of them lagging behind, she was about to take his other arm when Jask went ahead and jumped in for her. Just as well--he was taller anyway. Besides, a spot of blue caught her attention. The Justicar.

[mmdatass]"Dammit!" she hissed and forced herself to come to a stop, dust and dirt rising off the floor at her feet in small plumes. The Justicar wasn't actually part of their team, but Nali wasn't just gonna leave her there. Once stopped, she turned around and quickly grabbed the other asari and slung her over her shoulders in a fireman's carry. The maiden grunted as she pushed herself back up to her feet, adapting to the shift in balance. Fortunately, one of the beauties of being short was that her center of balance was already close to the ground, anyway, so the shift took barely a moment, and as soon as she was good, Nali darted toward the ship again.

[mmdatass]With the matron in tow, Nali was of the last of the party into the airlock. Just after her jump, she actually wasn't sure if she was going to make it, so she quickly leaned forward, using the Justicar's weight to help throw her a bit farther, and the two managed to make it without further assistance. She did stumble a little upon landing, a sharp p***k felt in her ankle, but it was easily ignored, especially when there were more pressing wounds in the little space of the ship. The biotic's eyes were immediately snagged by the wounded Karii, spotting the rupture right away. She knelt down, carefully leaning forward and bowing her head down to set the unconscious Justicar next to her friend before coming back up to see what she could do for the young engineer.

[mmdatass]"s**t," she muttered under her breath, but Nali quickly caught herself, and she put a hand on Karii's shoulders, tilting her head some attempt to peer through the visor and find the girl's eyes, "Hey, come on--it's not even that bad. Stay with me, Karii!"

                                                [mmdatass]...morale. Right?

Jask continued staring at the giant in the sky with wide eyes. He was frozen. He couldn’t even feel the Falcon in his hand anymore, and if he had been paying attention to it, he most certainly wouldn’t have thought about attempting any kind of assault on the being. Not only would it have been futile, it most likely would have been suicidal. They had enough trouble taking down a mechanized Krogan (which had managed to escape death again), he couldn’t fathom how they would be able to take one of those down… let alone an army.

He returned somewhat to reality when their ship came into view, he hadn’t realized that he had been holding his breath. A cold, foreboding sensation of dread made his stomach drop and a shiver run up his spine as the panicked voices of the pilot and co-pilot rang out over the comm-link. Were they going to get hit? Jask held his breath again, forgetting about himself and focusing his attention solely on the happenings in front of them.

A red light came to life on the Reaper, and Jask stood transfixed as it continued to power up. He had a pretty good sense of what was coming, and a suppressed sense of panic shook him again. He froze in place once again and just stared, mouth agape in horror as a powerful-looking beam was shot from it and directed towards the Amazon. Relief overcame his when the ship pulled an impressive evasive maneuver and managed to dodge the attack. He groaned when he saw the Reaper begin to charge up another blast. He hated just watching and hoping for the best.

Movement on the ground caught his eye as the captain commanded them all to get moving, and he instantly took off alongside the others. There was no way he wanted to stick around this dilapidated old building with Precursor hanging around. He bounded up the rubble towards their ship, easily aided by the adrenaline, and kept his eyes fixated on the opening towards the ship. He didn’t even want to think about the fact that they were running closer to the giant, and into something that was not moments

He clambered up the rubble until a voice called out, “Help me!” and Jask stopped to turn around and see Veronica struggling to carry Ivan. Jask grunted and climbed down to meet her, putting his arm under the human’s other shoulder to help support him as he and Veronica moved once again towards the ship with Ivan in tow.

They reached the top and one by one, the crew started making their leaps of faith onto the ship. Jask narrowed his eyes, wondering how they were going to cross the gap along with the injured Ivan. Though it appeared Veronica already had an idea. He walked along with her as they neared the edge of the building, and glanced to her quizzically before seeing the bluish glow of biotics surrounding her arm as she pulled it back and thrust it into Ivan’s back, sending the human flying across the gap and landing unceremoniously inside the ship. Safely though, if one could call it that. Jask felt himself snicker in momentary amusement at the display, “You really are crazy, human.” He told her, before watching her make the jump across the gap. Jask backed up slightly, if only to gain momentum, then hurled himself onto the ship soon after her, grabbing onto Tom Freedom’s hand and hoisting himself up onto the ship more securely.

Oh, how small the group must have seemed- A giant, almost insect-like machine just gazing upon each and every last one of the group. This thing was what Duncan seemed willing to serve. Whats-so-ever it was, it seemed that it could speak...and its intentions were what one would expect when a gargantuan, almost demonic-looking ship just glared right at you. And that same cold, mechanical voice from before meant only one thing--Precursor, sadly not
appearing to the group as a hologram.

At first, the Drell thought that the laser was meant for the shore party, but upon seeing the direction the reaper shot at, he felt his heart nearly stop when he saw the Amazon, even if the ship managed to dodge the incoming laser. The reaper, however, was absolutely hell-bent on making sure they would not leave--their captain's yelling, coupled with Precursor charging his laser, and the Drell felt a sudden rush of energy, running toward the Amazon as if he here a manma on a hallucinogen.

But fear was a powerful emotion--Here he was, just moments ago, dazed from a nasty punch from Mungo to instead running for his life as quickly as he could. Even if Precursor's lasers might have taken some time to fully charge, the idea of being cooked by those same lasers was NOT something the Drell wished to experience. His entire body may have ached, but he was pushing through the pain, and before he knew it, he was on the roof, nearly tumbling onto the ground.

"No..nonono," grumbled the Drell. Gritting his teeth, the Drell took in a deep breath to try and gather his composure before running again...He wouldn't dare look back, and instead continued his own dash toward the ship; despite the pain he'd felt all over his body, and despite what he believed was his body wanting to just quit right then and there, when close enough, he leaped and tumbled into the ship's floor like an idiot.

"Precur..precu..pre..." was all the fatigued drell could say. In between his deep and almost hoarse breaths, he tried to raise himself from the ground, but all could do was just lift his own head to see the ceiling of the Amazon before having it fall right back on the ground.

So that was the threat they were fighting against. Giant, pants-shittingly terrifying ships that had tentacles. Great. Ivan remained frozen with Veronica in his fear, liquefying his muscles until he saw a ship zip into his vision from the distance. His eyes widened as the red light on the Reaper intensified and made a terrible charging sound. Like static that crackled over comm sometimes, but bass and reverberating through his bones. A beam almost as big as the entirety of the Sidon research facility shot out and, through some crazy maneuvers, the Amazon managed to dodge it. Ivan would've eased a sigh of relief if the Reaper didn't start charging again.

And then it was time to run to the roof? Ivan told his legs to start moving, but it wasn't until Veronica practically carried him that they started cooperating. His feet felt like sacks of rice as he raced after Veronica. Each bob and move of his head made the world shake more and more like a bad action movie. He let out a groan, made choppy by the burst-like exhales from running. His lips felt tingly. Instead of running forward, it felt like he was throwing himself onto his face and catching himself with his feet. He leaned heavily on Veronica until they got to the most steep step. The vorcha came and helped lift him and, once Ivan was high enough, he slumped and crawled his way onto the roof.

The Amazon pulled over in front of them and opened its doors. Ivan took a quick look and it seemed as difficult as a thirty foot jump through hoops of fire. No way he could make it on his own. He took a deep breath and turned to his would-be savior, a smile on his face. "I will find a way to get on," he wheezed, "You go f--"

And all of a sudden, he felt a punch in his back that just narrowly missed his spine. It crashed into his right shoulderblade and shot him forward like a pinball. His body moved forward before his head did, so his neck snapped back forward to catch up. Ivan couldn't even recognize flying until he fell, in the most ungraceful way possible. His armor scraped against the floor of the Amazon as he rolled over to his left side, awkwardly lying on his wrist. Ivan's eyes were glossy slits as Veronica thudded down next to him. With every piece of energy he had, he pulled his right hand so that the other ginger could see it and tried his best to give her a thumbs up. He got his shaky finger almost vertical before he passed out completely. Chocolate brown eyes fluttered closed as he let out a deep exhale. It almost sounded relieved.

Finally. He could rest a little.

xxxxxAnd then it was finished. Everything from there passed in a blur; the shots, the shouts, and the threatening hum of the reaper. Ai was pushed into motion more as a reflex than because she properly processed the words, so mesmerized was she by the reflection of the reaper on her omnitool's screen. Collapsing her weapons and holstering them, she started to run. The little quarian was toward the front of the pack in their flight to the drop zone, uninjured and still trying to overcome her almost cowardly fear.

xxxxxShe was about ten paces out when she kicked something that chimed metallically as it skittered across the cement. She paused, scanning the ground, and in that moment, a burst of red light filled the world, coming from the reaper. Something told her that getting caught in a blast of that light would be bad, but Ai was hypnotized by the glare. The light slowly faded as it began to recharge, and Ai blinked, breaking the spell. Out of the corner of her eye, a blood-covered steel sheen tugged at her attention, the red and blue bloods on the field mixing to make a sickly purple-brown that couldn't quite mask the shine of the dogtags. Ai scooped them up, glad that they'd managed to pull her out of her daze, and tucked them away into one of the folds in her envirosuit, running as fast as she could.

xxxxxThe ship came into immediate view, hovering a good dash away, and a renewed burst of adrenaline carried Ai up the rubble, and her strong legs catapulted her past Tom Freedom. She rolled, sitting up and viewing her crewmates in their various states of injury. "I still have medigel, if it's needed before we can get a medic. Has Karii or Skipper been treated?" she said softly, without emotion, to nobody in particular. Ivan had already gotten a dosage from her, and from what she could tell, those two were the most injured. Looking around, however, she felt that most of the crew could benefit from the soothing touch of medigel. Unfortunately, she'd only packed three doses--enough for herself.

xxxxxA flashing light on her arm pulled her attention to the omnitool she kept in a little compartment. With a heavy sigh, she pressed a series of buttons and ended the recording.

Owyn saw the last of his team enter the shuttle, and he struggled to his feet. The Spectre leaned himself against, the wall near the lock doors button, and as he felt the Amazon move he tried to lift his arm to push it. Too much pain, he hadn't given himself any medigel for his arm. Owyn found motivation however, as a gasp and scream of shock was heard from the entire group as the Amazon barely avoided one of the Reaper's signature blasts. Owyn could feel the heat from the laser, and it prompted him to force his arm to move with a heavy grunt, slamming down on the button as the airlock door closed. Owyn leaned back on the other door leading to the Bridge of the ship, and as it opened he fell. Owyn was caught by Frederick Caesar and another soldier aboard the Amazon. The entire team were crowded around, each being helped along by different people who'd noticed their severe injuries. Tom Freedom still held Karii, but was being helped along by another soldier as far as Owyn could tell. Owyn's eyes began to close, the last things he heard were the frantic cries and orders of everyone around him before unconsciousness slipped in.

"Well, kudos to your team on making it out of there!" came Admiral Faust's voice of the comms supplied by Sampson. The tall, regal holograph puffed on it's pipe as Owyn replied with "Thank you, sir." what else could Owyn say? They'd just had their arses handed to them by the Dark Moons on their first mission out. Faust spoke up again. "I'll have my people look over that recording that your quarian got ahold of." Faust spoke, before gesturing to Owyn's dismembered wrist with the end of his pipe. "And how're you feeling about that?" he asked. Owyn looked to it and shrugged, speaking to Faust again. "It's war, y'know? s**t happens, you lose stuff. I just wish that all I lost was my hand." Faust sort of went quiet for a moment, allowing Owyn to muse to himself. "He tore off his head, Admiral. What're you supposed to do when something like that happens?"

"Fight back, lad!" Faust spoke, shaking a fist rather inspiringly. "Fight back with ten times the brutality that they show you! Works just fine for the batarians." Faust joked, chortling to himself as he put his pipe back between his lips. Owyn sighed. They were getting a new doctor, no point moping about it much longer. Owyn just... didn't like losing people at all. The Spectre's eyes wandered to the bed next to him where a sleeping Karii'lIanah lay. Her wound patched up with an airtight seal. He was under the influence of anaesthetics, and the doctor had said her surgery went very well (albeit the likelihood of a bit of sickness, but that was to be expected from a quarian) and she just needed time to heal. Faust spoke up again. "Well, you're going to have plenty of time to get used to your new hand during your next mission, Owyn." Owyn's eyebrow peaked as Faust spoke, the younger of the two asking a question. "Where're we off?"

"Aite. It's two jumps from where you are. We think Cerberus may be taking some liberties down there. We're not sure what, however." Owyn raised an eyebrow. "Cerberus? That's not our usual schtick..." Faust spoke up. "Yes, but we think the Illusive Man himself might be trotting around down there. We can't let this opportunity pass us, you see." Faust spoke. The Illusive Man? That was pretty big fish. I mean, not as big as the Reapers. But in a way, Owyn was sort of used to them. They were big and obvious, whereas the Illusive Man might as well be air. Owyn nodded in agreement to the assignment, and Admiral Faust spoke his final message. "Good luck with the hand, old boy! Cheerio!" and the blue hologram disappeared to reveal an orange one of a VI: Sampson. "Will that be all, Captain?"

"Yeah, thanks." Owyn said, resting his head back and relaxing a moment as Sampson dissipated. The Spectre heard some movement in the bed next to him and looking, he saw Karii fidgeting. Though it wasn't the type of fidgeting one did whilst sleeping, it was more adjusting to be able to wake up more. The dim light that signified quarian eyes was also showing, so Owyn smiled and felt a sort of relief at Karii being awake. "Hey, you're up." a pause as the quarian adjusted herself. "How you feeling?" he asked quietly, not wanting to risk hurting Karii's ears if she had a headache.

[mmdatass]Precursor fired of its laser--a terrifying sight, especially when it was so close, and as she turned away from the heat and light, the sound of the weapon was muffled slightly by the sealing of the airlock. The opposite door soon opened as well to release the crew back into the ship, and Nali saw Skipper fall in what seemed to be slow-motion, but before she could rush to help him, Caesar and another member of the crew kept him on his feet. She could only get Orina back up by her arm after snaking her arm around the unconscious asari's waist, but a couple of the crew members were quick to see the Justicar taken to medbay as well. One of them approached the adept to help her as well, but Nali waved the young lady off: the maiden had only received the typical bumps and bruises one could expect after fighting a super soldier.

[mmdatass]Time had passed, and everyone who needed to be in the medbay had been. While Skipper was being seen to and in a conversation with Faust, Nali had been dealing with the more clerical things like the shuttle that'd apparently been approaching the Amazon. Union, from what she'd been told, so the asari made her way down the the shuttle bay and waited in the technician box as they awaited the vehicle's arrival. Finally, the doors parted, and a little shuttle (so tiny since the last "ship" she'd seen was Precursor) scuttled into the hold.

[mmdatass]Within minutes, the airlock had sealed, and the atmosphere was returned to the shuttle bay, lights in the technician box marking when it was safe to get out there. As a few engineers made their rounds concerning the integrity of the shuttle, Nali stood tall (well...) with her hands behind her back awaiting to greet whatever passenger was within.

DR. MAXINE BRADLEY
» is there a doctor on board?
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬☤▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
location: the amazon (shuttle bay)
with: new faces!

"Alright then, boys, watch your head. I've got enough on my list for today, wound yourselves tomorrow." The young doctor patted a considerably taller man as he unloaded equipment, ducking out under the door as it opened. Maxine dropped down to the ground without any help, landing gracefully on her feet and extending a hand to the Asari waiting for her. "Dr. Maxine Bradley, ma'am." She said with a nod of the head.

She watched the men who'd accompanied her with a wary eye. "Wish I could be here under better circumstances, but it is quite an honor nonetheless." She smiled sadly. Their former head medical officer had been killed--under what circumstances, she did not know yet--and on top of that, their captain was in need of a prosthetic hand. Quite something indeed.

Never the matter, as outfitting a prosthetic was not a new task to her. She had no doubts that the captain would be handy (bad pun, but it nearly made her giggle to think about on the shuttle) again withing a few days, or perhaps even shorter than that if he was as much a trooper as all the little military boys said he was.

Her brow knitted together as the voices continued to chatter; something about a mission, jumping over something, Cerberus and human cereal. Her fingers twitched slightly as they continued on. She tried to relax herself, but she couldn't force herself to fall back asleep. The dull pain that pounded lightly in her chest wasn't going to allow her the extra bit of rest, apparently. Her eyes gradually opened, but struggled to adjust to the blinding lights above her. Where was she at, anyway? She cringed at the thought of being in another prisoner's cell as she turned her head, only to see the shaggy brunette in a bed next to her. She took in her surroundings in a few moments before jumping to the conclusion she was in the MedBay of.. somewhere. The Amazon, most likely. Her eyes narrowed in confusion as he spoke up; she was having a difficult time recalling how they had ended up in here. Her dry lips parted to speak, but it felt as if her throat had been lined with sandpaper. Her voice betrayed her with a short, yet harsh, cough. Well, that was pleasant. She took another second to adjust to her sore throat, "Like the Mako ran over me..." she mumbled. Seriously, what the heck happened?

It was odd seeing the Captain in this sort of setting. He was invisible in her mind and the Medbay was no place for him to be. Her eyes ran over him for some sort of indication as to why he was there; the usual busies and scrapes, but then they landed on his arm. It was wrapped tightly gauze, but something was missing underneath all the bandages. It then struck her; Virmire, Husks, Duncan, Lerax, Mungo, Korvis, and Precursor. Her body jerked forward with another cough before calming back down. Her face turned forward as she lifted a hand to touch her chest; a make-shift patch had been applied to her suit. Her fix would take some time, but at least it was something that could be repaired unlike Skipper or Korvis-- She winced, unable to even finish the thought. All of that had really happened. But how long ago had it been already? She had become solemn when she spoke, "What about you..?" she asked as she stared up at the lights. She ached too much to move or even breath at this point.

[mmdatass]As the shuttle door opened, Nali heard people before she saw anyone, particularly a confident and distinctly female voice. It was only when a new, redheaded woman came into view and introduced herself to the XO that she was able to make sense of what she'd said to the others who'd arrived with her. A doctor? Of course. And fantastic. After that spectacular display of a**-kickery back on Virmire, they were going to need all the Band-Aids they could get.

[mmdatass]"Nali T'Roa," the asari returned an introduction, firmly shaking the woman's hand (and was, because of it, grateful that it wasn't the one-handed Skipper there to greet her) and then releasing it as she continued, "And likewise. Welcome to the Amazon." The maiden tilted her head to motion for the young woman to follow her, casting one last look to the technicians to make sure they were seeing to the shuttle before she finally started toward the door between them and the rest of the ship.

[mmdatass]It had been mentioned before that they still needed some time for the captain to rest or heal or something like that before the prosthetic could've been attached for the best results, and the med bay was probably too busy at the moment for someone to be setting up, so they would avoid that area for the moment. They would still go up to the CIC, however, only to her quarters. Nali had only received word of this doctor a little while ago, but with the news came a file, and it looked like this woman was going to be their field medic. Might as well get to know her, she supposed.

[mmdatass]A series of questions scrolled through her mind as they entered the elevator, but they all just really seemed cold and small-talkish. Nali hated it. She sighed and let her posture relax a little. "To be honest, I'm glad you're here. I know it's not very promising to hear right after our first mission back, but we can use all the help we can get."

[mmdatass]The ride up the three decks was a relatively short one since it seemed no one else had summoned the lift, so when the doors opened, the asari nodded slightly in the direction of her office and continued walking.

They had all managed to make the jump from the ruined building and onto the ship, and the doors sealed themselves off just in time for them to make another sudden maneuver to avoid getting struck by another beam from the Reaper. Jask stumbled slightly to regain his footing, but that was about the worst of it as they managed to get away unscathed.

Their ship was unscathed anyways, though that couldn’t be said for some of the members. Jask had seen what happened to the captain, and most certainly did not envy their lack of regenerative abilities at that moment. He had seen Karii get shot, and they had both been taken to the med bay; and he had definitely seen what had happened to Korvis. Who was quite obviously not with them anymore. It was surprising, considering what they had been up against that so many of them had gotten out of the fight with injuries that wouldn’t be too much an an issue. The only thing that was really bothering Jask now was fatigue.

He walked through the halls of the ship as the crew disbanded to do their own things, and despite all they had just gone through and seen, he couldn’t help but feel slightly appreciative. This was the first time they had time to just relax on their own ship as free people. Not fugitives, or on the run from anyone. It was a massive relief, and the benefits that freedom brought wouldn’t soon be forgotten by him.

Jask yawned loudly as he walked down the hall, content to just head to the crew’s quarters and sleep for as long as possible. Though the sight of a now-familiar quarian caught his eye and he couldn’t help but stop to talk to her after all that had happened, especially after Karii had been injured.

“Hello, Ai.” Jask greeted, bringing his hand up lazily in a kind of ‘wave’, “Feeling ok?” He questioned, recalling all they had just been through. “Can't be only one that was scared of that thing.” He said somewhat jokingly.

Karii seemed fazed. Of course she did, she'd just been shot and Owyn was certain that it was the first time she'd ever gone through that. Owyn had been shot before, but his first time was his least favourite. When Karii asked Owyn how he was, he smiled awkwardly and raised his bandaged wrist up, waving it slightly and speaking even more awkwardly than his smile implied. "I'm left handed now." he quipped. Owyn probably shouldn't have joked then, but frankly what else could he do? He could have lost way more than just his hand if Lerax hadn't been taken back to wherever it was they hid away when they needed to re-cooperate. In a way, Owyn was thankful. Letting out a gasp of air, Owyn turned his head back and stared at the ceiling for a moment. "It's gonna be hard to use a gun. Not sure if prosthetics work with heavy triggers..." Owyn hoped they were bringing him something heavy and military-grade.

[OoC: Cut this short because I reckon that Karii would react rather profoundly to the whole hand being severed thing since she didn't notice it back on Virmire. XP]

[Pants!]Veronica lay panting for breath on the floor on the airlock beside Ivan feeling quite pleased with herself for not overshooting him. She could barely feel her legs because of Ivan's crushing weight but aside from that and a few admittedly large bruises she had come out of that scuffle relatively unscathed. She grinned at Ivan triumphantly and gently patted his shoulder as he gave her a thumbs up for her efforts.Skipper was the last one to make it on board and shut the airlock. As the second door opened back onto the ship Veronica saw him fall and was about to stand and grab him but she was beaten to it by Caesar and another unnamed soldier.

[Pants!] The rest of the injured crew were hoisted away by various worried crew members and hauled off to the medical bay. When one approached Veronica she shooed him away and got to her feet with a groan and assisted the man in taking Ivan the medical bay. Once he was there she sighed and slumped down in a chair besides his bed refusing to leave his side, after all you couldn't just Throw a heavily injured person onto a ship without staying by them until the end, it was bad form! The on-deck medic was seeing to as many people as he could and he was certainly doing an awesome job of efficiently patching everyone up.

[Pants!]The only one who really needed the attention now was Skipper himself. While his stump had been bandaged up and all he needed now was the prosthetic hand to along. Veronica looked over to see him comforting Karii who was also making a fine recovery, she and Skipper had by far received the worst of the damage during that little scuffle so maybe their pain was helping them find some common ground. Veronica leaned back in her chair absentmindedly tracing a pattern around her bruised arm while waiting for Ivan to wake up
