Aged Lunatic

After an abrupt click the voice from the intercom was gone, leaving his last few words to linger in Shin's head. Things may have been worse than he had thought. Who ever it was on the intercom had seemed to have rigged the entire hospital with home-made traps, which had proven to be somewhat effective judging by the steel scalpel sticking out of the mans back, which was now bleeding quite a bit more than before. Shin could feel the warm blood on his fingers as he held the wound, as well as the cold steel from the blade protruding out of his back out of his skin. That was when Midori burst out calling him an idiot and such, saying that he didn't have to do what he just did. Shin knew that, in fact it would have probably been the smarter thing to do. To just save himself. He would have avoided any further injury, as well and would have been down two more useless bodies. Well, he did need the younger one, Akumu, to work the security system once they got to it. Not to mention that Midori was the only one who could fire the MP7 with some effectiveness right now. Maybe the pair weren't so useless at the moment, that was why he did what he did. Yeah, he needed them for the time being, at least that's what he told himself.
It was then that the multi-haired girl pulled him by his arm towards her. Shin looked a bit puzzled as he noticed the worried and slightly embarrassed look on the girls face. Why was she helping him anyways? After all he had done to her and it wasn't like he had demanded her help like he had back at the mall. He didn't fight her grasp though and did what he was told, allowing the girl to inspect the wound, or try to. It was probably a bit hard to do so with Shin's jacket, which was now being used as a make-shift sling for his bum arm, in the way.
"Just give me a sec here. Only got one arm"
The man grunted as he pulled at the knot that held his jacket in place, Going as far as to bite the fabric, trying to get it loose enough to pull. It wasn't too long until the jacket fell to the ground, letting Midori get a better look at the wound, as well as the large tattoo that covered Shin's entire back.
It's fine, it doesn't feel like it's in too deep."
The man said looking over his shoulder to see if her could see if what he felt was true, though could only find the very tip of the handle of the scalpel. He tried rolling his shoulders, as he was told to do, to see if he could get a better look, but it provided little help. At least he could roll his shoulders, right?
"Everything feels fine, just do what you can about that"
Shin nodded his head back awkwardly at the knife in his back, before realizing that he probably shouldn't be giving orders. Especially if Midori had felt that after being bossed around, that she no longer wanted to help him. Shin couldn't exactly bandage himself up, not with one arm and a wound on his back.
Please
He mumbled in such a low and muffled tone that Midori may not have been able to hear it, but he had said something that no one would have ever thought he would say. Please. Thankfully Akumu piped up, giving her two cents on what might be going on. Shin was quick to reply to the girl just so he could change the subject off his back
They'll probably be in just as much s**t as we're in pretty. No doubt they're being watched.."

Kyo lead the way out of the mall and towards the road they had come in from with the SUV earlier. He did his best to make as little noise as humanly possible. Luckily for him the clicking sounds coming from their bike chains were drowned out by the moaning of the undead in the area as well as the crackling of the burning cars. All in all it wasn't too difficult to escape the mall and it's parking lot of death, it was rather easy actually. It seemed that the idea of blowing up a bunch of cars, although risky, paid off for the two. Providing a good enough distraction for them to get out of there without being noticed what so ever. This didn't mean that Kyo could slack off though, they had to make it to the hospital and make it before anything else could go wrong. He of course didn't have a clue as to what was going on in there. Kyo biked up the road, keeping a steady and fast pace. Following the street signs that lead towards the highway. It didn't take very long for the two to get off the main road and to the highway, which was packed with abandoned cars, trucks and ever a motorcycle or two just as Miki had expected. Traffic in Adachi city was naturally bad considering all the people that lived there, but with everyone trying to escape the ity limits at the same time, this was terrible. Plenty of cars had been left during the mad dash away from "them." Unlocked, doors open, some with the keys still in the ignition. Lucky for them they were on bikes and not in a car. It would be hell trying to make it through the cluster of vehicles, but they weren't which made travel easy. That was until the man noticed something in a car that made him come to a complete stop.
"What the.."
Kyo glanced over at a figure that he saw through the shattered window of a nearby car. It looked like someone was still inside. The man cautiously approached the vehicle on his bike before propping it up against the side of the vehicle once he got there. Kyo carefully peaked over the window, taking a look at who was in the car. It looked like a small child, a boy. Was he still alive, or was he one of "them?" Kyo wasn't sure so he pulled out his spiked baton and walked a bit closer. It wasn't until he was right up close to the passenger side window that he saw that the young boy, who looked no older than eight, had been shot and killed while still in the car. His father was in the drivers seat next to him and had shared the same fate. The sight was too much for Kyo, who quickly back and looked away from the vehicle. What kind of monster would do such a thing was all he could think as Miki caught up to him.
It's like there aren't anymore humans left in this world. To do such a thing to innocent people..."
The sight around him was enough to both sadden and anger the man, though he tried to keep his emotions in check around Miki. He had to be strong for her. Kyo wasn't a very emotional person to begin with anyways. He always seemed very aloof, distant and almost cold at school, that was until he gave someone a warm smile as he passed by in the hallways before returning to his own business. This however, was almost too much to stomach, but they had to move on.
We should keep moving. We're on the highway now, so you should know where you're going now. Right, Miki-san?"
