Indent It wasn't that he had gotten lost.

Indent No, it went more along the lines of this: he'd arrived back on Earth for the first time in twenty years, and after almost five minutes of aimless wandering in attempt to find his companions, he'd been attacked by Loki's Chitauran guards. The... Other guy, as Bruce still referred to him as, had naturally not taken very well to the assault, and had broken free suddenly to dispatch the threat. As well as any remaining threat for several city blocks. Before running off to who even knew where, where he'd left Bruce alone, lost and with effectively ruined pants a day later. After some wandering, part of him could take a very educated guess on where he was - though the thought made him ache to think of how things had changed in the last two decades. Because this was Harlem. The place where, over twenty years ago, he'd fought the Abomination - Emil Blonsky - and pretty much destroyed the surrounding area. And in the distance, if he wasn't mistaken, was Tony's old tower.

Indent The world had changed drastically in his absence, and not for the better.

Indent The man sighed, using the hand not holding up his stretched, tattered slacks to run back through his dark curls. Truly, it was disheartening. But for now he needed to focus on finding his companions, finding his way out of here. Thankfully it seemed that his reign of destruction hadn't gone unnoticed - after wandering for some time through what used to be upper Manhattan, there was the sound of crunching car tires driving slowly up behind him. Something he hadn't heard in quite some time. For how advanced Asgard was in certain technologies, they still didn't have cars, and relied on horses for travel. So when he turned, it was slowly, dark chocolate irises regarding the vehicle warily as a man in a bulletproof vest and other combative gear stepped out. First a foremost Bruce noticed the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo emblazoned on his upper right arm and on the top right corner of his vest. " Dr. Banner? " A slight inclination of his head. " Yes? " The man gave a polite smile " We had... Eyes, in the area, that informed us of your... Entrance. Welcome back to Earth. " Another nod. A tight, thin little smile. " ..Thanks. So, you're with S.H.I.E.L.D. " Not a question - an observation. " Yes sir. I'm to accompany you back to base, if you'll come with me. " Bruce quirked a brow. Why not? After all, even if this was some sort of trick, he was in no danger. If it wasn't, he'd just be on his way... Home. Or the closest thing he had to one now.

Indent The two of them got in the car and drove off, Bruce settling in for a trip filled with a tense, somewhat awkward silence. They arrived just ahead of another car, a black Acura - one that was surrounded by a small group of guards within the next two minutes. As they drove into the basement garage of the ruined former school the scientist kept his gaze on the mirror beside his window, watching a female figure push her way through the group towards the car before his own turned and he lost sight of the scene. From there he was led indoors, first and foremost to what appeared to be an infirmary, where he was quickly checked out and then, much to his relief, given a set of new clothes. Then, he was directed to stop by the Commander's office. Naturally his first thought was Fury - after all, how would he know any different? So with a quiet thanks he turned to leave, following the directions he was given to the office, only to stop suddenly at the doorway. Inside stood at a tiny brown-haired girl and, of all people, Steve Rogers. Out of the 'spangly' uniform and in surprisingly civilian clothing. Nonetheless the scientist cracked a little smile. " Captain. " Presence announced, he took a couple of slow steps into the room, putting his hands in his pockets to keep them from hanging awkwardly at his sides. " Been a while. It's, good to see you. "

Indent And it was. All that time ago, Steve had been the second of the Avengers that he'd met, after Natasha. He'd been kind, polite, and most of all, had treated him like a person, not like a walking land mine. Naturally that had landed him in the man's good books - especially when it wasn't always easy for himself to see past the 'other guy.' There was no sign of Fury in the office, however, so he figured he'd be in for a bit of a wait.

Indent His expression twisted into a bitter snarl, his father's own green eyes glowering at him from his son's face. " Oh? " His tone was harsh and mocking, effectively hiding the hurt that he held below the surface. Fenrir had a wicked temper, even as a child - though it had only become worse after his years of imprisonment. It was his way of disguising everything else - sadness, pain, distress. He could deal with anger. It didn't make him feel vulnerable, feel weak and alone. Though his eyes shifted to the older girl with Loki, who stepped forwards towards him, eyes locked on his own. Hel wanted him to relax, to calm down, and so, for her sake, he tried. Deep, slow breaths; the tight clenching and unclenching of his hands to try and relieve some of his stress. Then, once he was somewhat more in control of himself, his eyes slid back to their father, one raised eyebrow the only sort of expression on his youthful face now. Loki had trailed off, and as the topic was Angrboda, that simple fact had piqued his curiosity. 'She' what? While waiting for Loki to continue, he found that he had to force himself to ignore the child hovering by their father's ankles, calling him a damned puppy of all things. Like some domesticated dog. But no; he was more curious about his mother's current state. The brat could rot for all he cared. In fact, at that moment, it would be preferred.

Indent In the next moment he felt as though somebody had hit him with a load of bricks, knocking the air from his lungs - shortly after, an open, yawning ache burned in his chest. " ...Gone. " He knew without asking just what Loki meant by that. She was dead. Deceased. She was his late mother. For a moment his mask fell away, giving a view of the horrified, sad boy that had just been told his mother had died. Then it was back up, just as quickly as it had faltered, and he was giving a very flat, " How? " By Tyr's blighted stump of an arm. If any of those men had touched his mother, they would see their prophecy brought to truth as the wolf brought havoc down on them. For now, however, the more protective, brotherly side of him was concerned about Hel. He stepped forwards to put one hand on her shoulder and give it a little squeeze, trying in vain to give her some form of comfort. He agreed with every word she said, but before he could add anything of his own there was the sound of two pairs of feet approaching the group. He'd turned, with enough time to see Loki position himself between his three offspring and the strangers. It made Fen roll his eyes. Honestly, he was no such child any more that needed protection from his father. So he stepped up to stand at the god's side, a low growl beginning to rumble in his chest. The scent of the pair was... Unsettling. The sight of what appeared to be a deck of cards lifting into the air of their own accord, lit by some sort of energy, was even more so.

Indent He spoke of some 'television screen' that he'd seen Loki on, and while Fenrir had absolutely no idea what that meant, he ignored the fact, as well as that the man appeared to refer to himself in third person about half the time. In fact, his lack of understanding only set him more on edge. If the strangers knew what was good for them, they'd turn and leave. Immediately.

Indent Normally she'd find her son being so protective over his female friend cute. But the fact that he was being a complete smart-a** about it, and consequently getting under poor Grace's skin, was making the situation more concerning than endearing. " Pietro, you're a grown man, not a child, " she replied, voice quiet but firm. " Not a child. Please, stop acting like one. " Grace was already gone by that point, so there was no worries about chiding her son in front of a potential future girlfriend. Her husband seemed to be on the same line of thought before he looked to her, serious mood gone, the cheery nature she'd fallen for being flicked back on like a switch. The woman grinned before turning to stand up on her tiptoes to grab a large skillet from atop a cupboard so she could plug it in. A frying pan would also have worked, but this would make more at once. " How many d'you want, papi? And what kind? " From there she looked to her daughter, unable to help the little laugh, reaching back to give her a little poke in the arm. " No way, you're already too thin. You'll disappear completely if you diet. "

Indent As she cracked an egg and dropped it, sizzling, onto the skillet, Kitty glanced to her son, who was clearly unhappy, shooting off a snappy retort to his sister before leaving the room. His words left her looking back to Keira, the eggshell still gripped loosely in her hand, a rather comically startled look on her face. " ...'SHIELD boyfriend?' " Well that was... A revelation. On one hand, it wasn't like she was in the best position to so much as judge her daughter's choice - after all, she'd defected from the X-Men for Pietro. But times were different now. They were at war. For all she knew, this boy could be a spy sent to use her daughter for information. And that wasn't a thought that sat very well with the mother. " Keira.... " Her voice was still soft, not angry or upset - it was hard for Katherine to really get too upset with her kids, unless it was an exceptionally serious matter. " Who is he? How long as this been going on? " Was that who she'd been texting on and off that morning? Somehow she just hadn't thought much of it. Her daughter was a friendly girl; Kitty had just assumed it had been messages to one of her friends. Her female friends.

Indent Oh good. They hadn't even left the base and already their team was fighting amongst themselves. Claire rolled her eyes, the bone spikes at her palms sliding back into her arms so she could run a hand over her face in frustration. This really wasn't helping their current situation. And as much as she'd like to tell them that, Claire kept her mouth shut, not wanting to make this any worse than it was. So while Clint and Austin bickered back and forth she leaned against the nearest wall, waiting for it to come to a stop - which it did when Austin stormed out of the room like a grumpy child. The girl's eye gave a sharp twitch. " Rogers! " She called after him, but to no avail. So with a scowl she was left to follow Clint into the weapons storage, grabbing a few knives and strapping the sheathes to one of her thighs and arms and sliding one into her boot before turning at the sound of another voice.

Indent The blonde woman that had been at Maria's office, speaking with the male Asgardian. She was from there too, from the sound of her voice and the state of her dress. Armor. Some of the skimpiest armor she'd ever laid eyes on. ' How the hell will that protect her at all? ' Claire wondered, staring at the beautiful woman before exhaling slowly. Apparently, she was going to be coming along on their mission. " Yeah. Welcome to the friendliest team in the history of S.H.I.E.L.D., " she remarked sarcastically, taking up a taser gun to strap to her other thigh. With a last glance over to Clint she strode back into the hall to wait for him to finish stocking up on arrows. She had no idea where Austin had gone, or if he was going to be rejoining them any time soon. ' If he doesn't, ' she thought, unamused, ' It's his own damn problem. ' She'd grown up with him and Roy, and while she loved them both like brothers of a sort, this was ridiculous. And about the opposite of being a professional.

The Midgard Serpent

User Image
This didn’t seem right.

Each step Jormungandr took brought back vague images, outlines, of the city around him; as he ventured further into Manhattan, he could not help but take in just how ruined it was. This was New Asgard? He barely remembered what the great halls of Asgard looked like, now; he'd been but a child when he'd seen them, but from what he recalled of the city of the gods, it was nothing like this.

Its condition wasn’t disappointing, exactly. Seeing a great human civilization such as this one crumbling at its seams was almost… fitting. The mortals had laid waste to each other and nearly everything around them for over a millennia; how the tables have turned, he thought idly. He hardly would have been surprised if they’d done the very same to themselves, given time. However, the crumbling structure around him did raise a few questions in the young man’s mind. It didn’t make sense that his father would go through all of this trouble to gain Midgard, only to let it fall into such disrepair. Something did not add up; from the very beginning of this, he felt nothing truly had. In the few times that Jormungandr had spoken to his father since his takeover of Midgard, the trickster’s son had tried to get answers; to learn what he could of his father's allies, and his reasons for invading a realm he'd shown no care for in the past. To no avail; his father had avoided confiding in him on such matters, much to his disappointment. Why, he only wished he knew.

It concerned him, like many things regarding his father seemed to concern him, these days. But there was a chance, perhaps, that he would finally have answers when he found him.

He tampered with the stolen jacket, pulling it tightly around his thin form as he walked on, struggling momentarily with the unfamiliar metal contraption used to hold the article of clothing closed around him. Midgardian clothing truly was strange, he noted; it took longer than Jory would have liked, but he was nothing if not persistent, and after a few infuriating minutes of fighting with the small metal tab, he successfully zipped the jacket up, shielding himself from the wind. He walked on, arms crossed over his torso, head down slightly so as to avoid unwanted attention...

Until he heard his name being called, causing him to stop in his tracks and look up. Jory; who but his family would know him by that name, here? Who here would know him at all, in this humanoid form? The voice was louder the second time around; closer, and he turned to seek out the source. With every bounding step the stranger took, he could briefly make out the shape of a Midgardian. Or, they appeared to be Midgardian, only that they moved far too quickly to be a human...

And then it clicked, just as his elder brother’s running pace quickened, if that were at all possible. “Sleipnir?” he called back as the young man approached him. There was a familiarity he felt then that was unmistakable; this truly was his brother. But how...? “By the gods, brother, is that really you? How did you get here?” When they'd been seperated, Sleipnir had remained on Asgard, in the Allfather’s service; as much as Jormungandr had hoped that his oldest brother would be reunited with them, he hadn’t believed it to be possible.

Taking in mind everyone's reactions after what he said, he'd have to admit the one that surprised him most was Austin. Despite what he felt he said being pretty harsh, it didn't mean that Austin had to run away like a baby and probably either go tell Maria or stomp out of base to get fresh air. He'd agree that if stepping out to get fresh air was what Austin was what he would be doing, he'd allow it. But judging from the mannerism and the facial switch of the kid before he mouthed off and ran, Clint felt otherwise. A single "Austin!" was the only thing he would shout out to get the kids attention. But despite Claire or his methods, nothing worked. Oh well. Kid was a liability anyway. Regardless, he had finished filling his quiver to the absolute brim with arrows thanks to a fully modified version that apparently was found with his things. Christa must have known he always needed arrows. A smirk came on his face. He'd have to thank her later. Regardless, he was ready to go and so was Claire as he watched her finish up applying weaponry to her arsenal.

"Well, I think the party is over. It's time we get to work. Claire, we're gonna take a Quinjet over. Two-Seater. You get wingman. I take Pilot. Freyja, I assume you'll be using your chariot since that's your usual means of transportation. Good luck. If anything, stay close. The jet is armed" Clint would reply to them both as he ushered them to follow him down the hallway. Father fast pace ahead and bow now in compact state, Clint would hold onto it for the meantime as the group took to the stairs and made their way down to the Hanger since the elevators still needed repairs from the earlier Hulk attack. Regardless, Clint would take to sliding a metal wheeled set of stairs over to one of the Quinjet fighter jets and climb inside the pilot seat then wait for Claire to take Co-Pilot behind him before the latch to the cockpit would close. He would signal to the Air Traffic as a signal he was ready and within minutes, the two were off at soaring speeds towards New Asgard to find a landing spot close to the tower.

Watching as his plan came into effect, Liam accepted the restraint from Luca with a viscous grin on his face to disguise his pain. "You're too late. Ah' win this round. Ya' ain't as quick as ya' say ya' are boy" Liam would taunt Luca despite his body starting to give in to the pain. His eyes were still covered by his tactical glasses but his face would show all emotion as he would grunt and try to fight off the Chitairi who restrained him and beat him tot he ground while shackling his hands to the ground and rendering him to his knees. The shackles wouldn't allow him to stand so the most he could so is lean forward before his shackles would stop his fall. Even then, he was becoming a nearly rag doll-ish collapsed form of a man then he normally was. Everyone had continued to kick him, punch him, beat him with their weapons and cause him to not only bleed in the mouth. Nut be cut up by the edge of their weapons and reopen his shoulder injury in a rather crimson form. He was starting to lose the fight the more his face and body became a crimson masked painting of splatters. But the only thing he let himself mutter outloud is a sincere "[********... you.." before his form weakened and his body just hung there weaving unconsciously.

Enya was starting to feel uneasy with all these new people. And her brother seemed really mad at her for some reason. Enya could sense he was Mac and did not know it was because she called him a puppy. "Daddy I don't like it out here any more I want to go home." She told him. Reaching her hand to his as she stood next to him. The little girl was not used to new people and getting these strange feelings. All she knew what the tower and in the tower she was a princess, and more importantly there was never any one new . Holding onto daddy's hand tight with her she kind of hi behind him. Freyja watched as a blonde, young man stomped off childishly after throwing a bit of a tantrum. She frowned. That certainly could not be a normal way for Midgardian warriors to behave, could it? She remembered well that those she had known before would have protected their brethren to the very end out of an almost familial love. Could that have changed so much? The younger blonde, who was placing what the goddess guessed were weaponry of various sorts, addressed her. Ah, so this was actually quite abnormal. She could tell by the sarcasm dripping from the girl's words. "An honor," she muttered, looking again to where the angry young man had disappeared, then back to the two mortals remaining.

She simply nodded to the man and followed as he showed her and the other female the way out. He was turning, however, away from the means to reach the ground level. "I shall see you outside," Freyja assured him and headed up to reach her chariot. Felines secured to the front, they all immediately found the Midgardian "jet," and followed closely, as instructed. As they passed over the ruined land, she sensed something, a presence. It was too far away for her to determine what it was, but it tugged at her attention, making her want to find its source. No, she could not do so right now. She had promised herself that Ryon would have his sister back, and she never went back on a promise. Even to herself.

When the jet landed, so did she. Jente and Gutt remained tied to the chariot, and stayed by the jet, as per Freyja's instruction. As for the goddess, she looked around as she waited for her companions to disembark. While doing so, she spotted one of the repulsive Chitauri creatures at the entrance to the tower. Quickly, she pulled the bow and quiver of arrows from their spot on the chariot. Taking one of the arrows, she aimed expertly just above and to the right of the creature and shot the arrow. The arrow hit, embedding itself deeply into the things head.

Damon's outfit

Damon looked at Alvaro when he was so worried. After now being tromitized he did not know how he would show he was fine. "you should really sit down until you feel better." he said. Takeing Alvaro's hand he lead him back to the bed. Sitting down on the bed too so Alvaro would join him. That was one way to get the prince to sit until he felt better. Maybe Daon could lay here and thatnwould be how he made Alvaro lay in bed all day. Wait he shouldn't think of these ideas because they might be erased from his head in a few seconds.

"my father returned from a mission yesterday. For this mission he left when I was just a baby. I was sapose to meet him in the woods yesterday with my momm but things didn't work out. And when I called I heard him and my mother haveing sex. Please erase my memory I do not need that as the first memory of my dad." Damon said. When that plan was made Damon never once thought of introducing Alvaro to them. His mom kind of already meet him any way. Besides there was no telling how his very religious dad would take it. Beides Alvaro might not even want to because tht would put them in serious relationship. And it seemed like Alvaro wanted no one to knw.

Who: Christa, Katja, Nicole, Maria > Nick, Bruce | Where: Maria's Office | Wearing: Outfit

The moment Olivia left the room, Nick came running in, wrapping her arms around him and a sweet embrace. Steve lifted his arm, turning slightly to look at her with a grin on his lips. At the mention of her being on a mission, Steve raised an eyebrow at Maria before he placed a hand on top of Nick's head as he smile grew. "I'm sure you were absolutely amazing. I wish I had been there myself." However, Maria's comment made him smirk as he ruffled his daughter's hair a bit. "Snuck on, huh? That's my girl." Turning toward Katja and Christa, he smiled and took the files as she handed them to him. She really was a good assistant for Maria. "Thank you." Steve replied as he kept the files against his chest with one arm while his other hand was on Nick's back, bringing her around so that she stood next to him.

At the mention of his sons, he could see the change in Maria's face. His smile faltered almost on cue. Just from that look he knew things weren't good, but he didn't know what had happened yet. As Maria lowered herself somewhat to cover Nick's ears, he was afraid of what she was about to say that Nick couldn't hear. Steve's eyes met hers when she looked back up at him, and her next words haunted him the moment she said them. He was relieved Austin had made it back, but the fact that Roy was still out there? Steve felt sick as he swallowed the lump in his throat. His face was hard as stone as he refused to show emotion or weakness of any kind, even in front of his wife. He didn't know if Roy was still alive or still captured or maybe he even got free, he wasn't sure. All he wanted now was to pull on his suit and get out there... Knowing Clint, however, was on the team to retrieve them did make him feel better. He trusted him, and he knew if there was anyone that could help retrieve him, it would be him. But what about Austin? Where was he? Was he part of the team going to retrieve Roy? Steve wouldn't be surprised if he was, but that also scared him. He escaped once, what if he wouldn't make it back this time?

Steve still remained silent, even as Maria received a message. He watched Maria as he stood there still as stone with his hand still on Nick's back. He could see the anger in Maria's eyes as they arrived in the blink of an eye. Whatever she was being told, it was definitely not good. Steve's lips curved downwards slightly just before Maria and told him that someone was at the entrance claiming to be Agent Phil Coulson. What kind of sick, twisted looney would pull something like that. They all knew he was dead. Nick Fury announced that himself twenty years ago. Steve didn't follow Maria like he wanted to. Instead, he stood in her office after Christa, Katja and Maria left, leaving him with just Nick. His mind was flooded with different scenarios of what might of happened to his son and those who were also taken captive. His endless suffering, however, was interrupted when he heard an all too familiar voice from the door behind him.

Steve turned where he stood, and a smile immediately came to his lips. "Dr. Banner!" Removing his hand from Nick's back, Steve strode over to Bruce, took his hand in a shake, but followed it up with his other arm coming around the man into an embrace. He gave Bruce's back a pat or two before he released him and ran his hand through his brushed back hair. "It's so good to see you, too! You came at a great time. Oh here, let me introduce you." Steve turned slightly, offering his hand to his daughter so that she could come to him and meet the famous Bruce Banner. Steve had told stories about Bruce, Thor and Iron Man while they were in Asgard, so his daughter knew who he was. "Dr. Banner, I would like you to meet my daughter, Nicole. Nicole, I would like you to meet Dr. Banner." Steve couldn't help but smile. Sure, things were turning into a topsy turvy mess. First he arrives back from a successful mission, then hit with the fact that his son has been captured, followed by the arrival of a great friend. He was sort of waiting for another blow to come his way.

Steve wondered, however, how things were going with Maria and who this person really was. What kind of ninny would be dumb enough to use a dead man's name and expect to gain clearance into the building? Sometimes he couldn't understand the stupidity of some of the people of this century... It was still rather confusing for him sometimes, even though it has been twenty years. Steve never liked those ear walkie talkies that most people had here on base. He could never get used to them, and the sudden voice in his ear usually startled him. If he had one though, he would at least figure out what was going on. Turning to Nick, after introducing the two, he gave her a smile. "Why don't you go find Avalon or go to the Veterinary ward. Dr. Banner and I are going to see what's going on." With that, he gave her a kiss to her forehead before he looked up to Bruce. "Let's go see what's happening at the gate. Maria said something about someone claiming to be Agent Coulson."

Austin Tony Rogers
Captain of Team Delta

Austin had stepped outside the base for some air. Yes he lost it in there and stormed out. But he could not take it any more. Being compared to his perfect brother even when he wasn't around. How was Roy so perfect that every moment any one say something they mentioned how Roy was so god damn perfect and was everything Austin wasn't. All different comments went through Austin's head, all comments that people said about how he should change things about himself to be like Roy. Hearing enough of the voices in his head he punched the first tree in front of him.

A few tears came down Austin's cheeks as he put his forehead against the tree. He had been angry about bing told he couldn't go on the mission by his step mom, angry about being told to be like Roy and he was never anything like his father by a hawkeye, finally he was angry at himself. This was the first mission he had ever failed to bring every one home. No matter how much he resented Roy for being the favorite he was his twin brother, and Austin failed him.

Hearing a plane he looked up and saw one leave, fallowed by the goddess, bastards left with out him. Going back inside he splashed water on his face, put sunglasses on and went to the garage. On one mission Austin had found this bike. It had taken months to repair but was now better then new and what he used to go on missions. Shield securely on his back he rode his 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650 through the first to the others. With the mods Austin made to it the bike was able to handle the ground of the first, and the tight turns of the city with ease. It was also almost completely silent so no enemies could hear him coming.

Stopping on a dime at the corner of the landing area Clint and Clair chose. As they came to the ground Austin got off his bike. By whispering a code word into his watch his bike became invisible. The tech department was working on it for modifying all jets. Willingly Austin put his bike in test trial. So far no flaws. Now he waited for his new orders from the man his dad always said so amazing and his moms second in command. One thing Austin knew was it was better to have hawkeye than black widow. Pretty sure Natasha would kill him if he got on her bad side.

I must contain my anger, or I won’t control my power
But, gods, how long I’ve waited just to see this very hour
It’s just as well I’m not the one who calls the storm of fire,
Or I would turn this battle plane into your funeral pyre
The priests all say I must not hate, but I will not pretend
I saw the wreck you made of her, my Herald and my friend
The scars you left in flesh and soul will be so slow to fade
Oh would I had your coward heart beneath my naked blade

Avalon waved as her mother departed from them. As she turned back to Tony it was obvious his attention was now fully on Cory and Pepper, who seemed to be having a moment together. She found that she didn’t really mind that Tony Stark basically forgot about her as he walked off towards the table where Pepper and Cory were sitting. In fact Avalon was grinning as she herself skipped to the back of the cafeteria and convinced an agent that her mother had given her permission to have a large rice crispy treat.

The cafeteria staff knew from prior experience that neither of Avalon’s parents really wanted her to have sugary snacks, aside from special occasions. However, Avalon exited the cafeteria the large rice crispy treat in hand. She ate it slowly as she made her way down to the Animal Rescue Center, where Nick had said to meet her. It wouldn’t seem like a strange thing to the adults of the facility as she and Nick often spent hours helping out with the various animals that were brought in.

Three flights of stairs later, Avalon entered sub-level three where the Rescue Center was located. She could already hear the sounds of the various animals from down the hall as she hurried to finish the last couple bites of her sugary treat. Avalon took her next left and pushed open the door to labeled in big letters: SHILED ANIMAL RESCUE CENTER. “Welcome back, Ms. Barton.” One of the veterinarians who worked there greeted her cheerfully. “Will Ms. Hill-Rogers follow shortly or are you alone today?”

Avalon shook her head, “Nick’s meeting me here!” She replied rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet as the sugar was starting to kick in. “Is Pluto still here? Or did he get adopted or released back onto the surface?” the vet chuckled, amused at how fast Avalon had fired off questions about the nine week old Coyote puppy that had been brought in a few weeks ago due to a broken leg.

Avalon had become quite attached to the pup since, “He’s still here sweetie.” The vet had barely finished speaking when Avalon began walking quickly away and towards the kennel area. She easily found the kennel where the Coyote pup was occupying currently, unlatched the door and entered, “Pluto!” the nine week old puppy was up and awkwardly (due to the cast on his front right leg) came running over to Avalon as soon as he saw her.

His tail was wagging as Avalon knelt down and scooped him into her arms, and licked her face. Avalon giggled as Pluto licked her face, “That tickles Pluto!” She stood and carried Pluto out and over to the small puppy play area. Placing Pluto down carefully, Pluto automatically ran over to pick up one of the tennis balls and rushed back over to Avalon. Avalon bent down and eventually wrestled the ball out of Pluto’s mouth. She grimaced at how slimy it was now, but nonetheless gave it a small toss so Pluto could chase it. "Fetch boy!"

I must control my rage or lose ability to plan
I must direct the fight from here, not charging in the van
As you will likewise do, no doubt, for all that you are cruel
And revel in shed blood and pain, I think you are no fool

Nichole "Nick" Rogers-Hill

Nichole smiled up at her mom dad when he was so proud of her going on a mission, and being called "his girl" for sneaking on. "Maybe I can go on a mission with you then." She said hoping it would be true. To go on a mission with her dad would be amazing. If she was on a mission with the entire family in Nichole's eyes her parents were the best people in the world, fallowed shortly after by her brothers.

Laughing at what her parents always called her. For some reason her parents thought it was fun to dress her in monkey things. Even after she reached double digits in age she was still called monkey. "Yes mom." She said when she needed to not listen. With mom covering her ears Nick closed her eyes.

When her ears were uncovered Nick opened her eyes and looked at her parents. With no idea as to what they had just said. On the mission she had stayed with Wanda and did not know what happened on the other side of the camp. When her mom said an agent was trying to get on base she gave a little confused look. Her parents would tell her stories about amazing agents. Nick Fury the man she was named after, and Phil Coulson. Coulson was like her mom's best friend and admired her dad. That was why Nick named the puppy found on her mission Coulson. That was going to be the surprise for her parents, but looks like they would have to wait to meet him.

After leaving her mom’s office she would introduce the puppy to her best friend. Looking up at her dad she was about to say she was going but someone came in the office. Hearing her dad say "Dr. Banner!" made her turn around fast. No way! She just met Ironman and now Dr. Banner! Full of excitement she smiled at the doctor as she walked and stood next to her dad. "Hello Dr. Banner my name is Nichole Rogers-Hill." She said and saluted him just like her dad taught her too. There was so much she needed to do now. Nick needed to tell Avalon about Doctor Banner, she needed to tell her dad they meet Ironman, and she needed to tell Avalon about the agent Phil Coulson.

Getting a kiss from her dad on her forehead she smiled at him. "Okay dad." She said and looked at Dr. Banner. "Bye Doctor Banner I will see you later. My best friend Avalon will love to meet you." She said and looked at her dad. "Bye dad." She said. Jumping a little she managed to kiss his cheek then ran out of her mom’s office.

Running as fast as she could she ran to the Animal Rescue Center. Yesterday when Nick brought her puppy in they said it would be a day or two before she could play with him. Needing shots and checkups and all that. So she could not see her puppy, but Avalon should be here. Going inside she saw Avalon playing with Pluto. "Avalon!" She said right before she was standing next to her. Knowing she was not allowed to yell in here. "Dr Bruce Banner is here I just met him! and there's a guy here saying he is Agent Phil Coulson." She said. Knowing her best friend was told the same stories growing up. "I am going to go and see what is happening, want to come?” She asked. The puppies would be here in ten minutes. Whatever was happening with the Phil Coulson thing wouldn’t last that long and Nick wanted to see.

Indent Bruce's smile widened some as he reached out to shake Steve's hand, only to be pulled into an embrace a moment later. For a moment it startled him into stillness - he wasn't the type who got a lot of unexpected hugs - but he recovered quickly enough to clap a brotherly pat or two onto Steve's back before they pulled apart. Hearing that he came at a great time made him chuckle wryly. " That's a first. " From there he looked to the girl behind the soldier, who stepped forwards once Steve extended his hand, but a moment later his gaze was snapping back up to Steve in shock. His daughter. Somehow Bruce knew he shouldn't be surprised - it had been twenty years, after all, things were bound to happen - but it still wasn't something he'd expected. Nonetheless, he looked to the girl again with a more friendly smile, dark eyes taking an amused light at the way she introduced herself and gave a salute. " It's wonderful to meet you, Nichole. " The fact that she was 'Rogers-Hill' didn't escape his notice either. Hill. Maria. Another unexpected development, if it could even be called a 'development' after so many years. His eyes flitted between father and daughter as Steve told her to go to the veterinary ward and find Avalon - from Nichole's farewell to him, he figured it was another little girl on base. " Goodbye, Ms. Rogers-Hill. " Once she was out of the office he looked back to Steve with something of a grin. " You and Maria? "

Indent But then he heard the news about somebody claiming to be Agent Phil Coulson at the gate. Bruce quirked a brow. " ...So that's what that was about. " He hadn't been present at the time - the Hulk had been busy ripping apart a fighter jet and falling on an abandoned warehouse - but he'd heard after the Battle of Manhattan that the man had been killed during Loki's escape. It was a sore blow to both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers; he'd been a good man, and certainly hadn't deserved to die in such a way. That somebody was coming up twenty years later and trying to use his identification to get in the base was absolutely baffling. " Can't imagine Fury's too happy about that, " he muttered dryly, running his fingers through his mess of brown hair before nodding to Steve. " Let's go. " So he turned about and left the office, retracing his steps to find his way back to the gate he'd come in from. The group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents was still surrounding the car, and now that he knew who it was, it was much easier to see that it was Maria Hill standing by the front of the vehicle. His pace slowed until he came to a stop on the edge of the grouping, staring ahead at the tinted windows of the car with a slight furrow between his brows.

Sigyn smiled as she felt the faint heat of the sunshine on her for only a brief moment then it disappeared almost as quick as it had shined on her pale skin. She opened her eyes slowly when she heard a faint commotion off in the distance. She got on her elbows and pushed her body up at an angle so she could see her surroundings. She narrowed her eyes to see two figures coming towards her. She focused on them until they got close enough for her to discover who they were. ”By Odin’s blind side….” She whispered to herself as she watched her sons. Typically it was Vali who was pulling Nari forward towards her.

Her grey eyes watched them with a mix of joy and anger, she had wanted to see them but she was not pleased that they had disobeyed her. Sigyn got on her feet and balanced herself on the slanted rock. When they got close enough she put a hand on her hip and looked down at them. ”Vali…Nari.”
She spoke both their names slowly and looked between the twins. ”Why have you come here? It’s not safe, can you not see that?” She said while lifting her chin to give her the allure of authority. She narrowed her eyes ”You both must return to Asgard at once.”

There was some a clatter of sounds coming from behind her. She turned around to see that there was a jet landing not far off. Her motherly instincts kicked in when she realized that the jet indicated that this ruin was possibly inhabited or that others were coming to investigate. She jumped off the rock and landed next to her twin sons. She grabbed both their hands and pulled them close to her as she hid behind the rock. ”Keep your heads down.” She said while poking her head up to inspect the area. When the jet had taken off and along with it her eye caught Freyja on her chariot. She pulled back down and stared into space ahead of her as she pulled her thoughts together. She needed to go after that jet, she needed to get to Freyja. She knew that no one else would trust her sudden arrival.

Sigyn looked at her two sons next to her. She was going to regret this. "You're both coming with me." She said while getting up on her feet. She looked off in the direction of the jet. It was heading into the city. How they would get there in time she wasn't sure but with the help of her son's maybe they would have a chance.
