This feature would sound quite interesting. Then again, I'm more into the Chance Item NPCs, so I doubt I'll be checking this out if it's just the manga/plot/shop NPCs being asked the questions. sweatdrop I haven't been interested in their backgrounds for a long time really.

I feel something like this would be too hard to keep within the characters developments without adding a bunch more cannon that needs to be counted for in mangas.

I'd love to hear from Josie, Ruby, Peyo and Rina. I want to know how they feel even if they aren't on a huge adventure. Also since the manga is so slow its maybe been only a year since Johnny died. I'd want to know how Isle de Gambino (hometown!) us copin without him.

I think it's a good idea in theory, but I don't think it would work, because I don't think there's enough consistency within the staff to be able to actually answer questions in character without contradicting or retconning things.

I'd love to get more interaction out of the NPCs, especially Rufus, Rina, and Leon. I wouldn't even mind scripted stuff as opposed to off-the-cuff ask-and-answer threads. First time I chatted with Rina in zOMG? I nearly died of squeeing over her reactions to my answers, she's just that adorable.

I enjoy the Gaia NPCs and the day-to-day story aspect. I adored the possibility of interaction with said characters. I read the NPC alerts, like Ivan and Dr. Singh. I might be in the minority, but I like that interactive story stuff.

I'd be afraid for this to happen, many of the questions we would ask would be unforeseen by the devs operating the NPC accounts and could lead to some seriously off the wall and potentially canon shattering answers. I think I'd rather leave the old NPCs resting and imagine what they would say instead of potentially ruining what we had with them by getting answers we don't like.

I mean, I'd totally ask Labtech X everything about G CORP that I could think of in mind-numbingly detailed ways, come up with questions that not a single person left at HQ knows the answer to... I'm sure that the new devs don't know nearly as much as we would like them to about out favorite "old school" plots and it would lead to awkwardness and disappointment. I mean I'd love to see this feature implemented but I'd think that older NPCs would need to be excluded because of this. Anything pre-2008 is basically a no-no and if they did try to appease us, we would only be upset with the answers we got knowing they weren't from the NPCs we used to remember. I know the diehard plot fans would go off on some crazy tangent and the devs wouldn't know what the hell to say to us.

New NPCs though, that aren't as deeply rooted in our minds would work. They could just talk and answer simple questions about themselves or current plots/events and everyone would have a great time.

I'm all for this idea, but like crim said, it shouldn't be old NPC's we've already grown attached to due to the ability the staff has to completely ruin their backstory and add a whole bunch of nonsensical information. I'd be afraid of having EB show up, cause one of the staff controlling him probably wouldn't take it seriously and start talking about former roomates and how he got his suit.

That is not to say however that I'm fully against this idea.
One of the magical things in the past to me were user controlled NPC accounts: an NPC that you could actually hold a conversation with. The more recent halloween events seem to include this, but... the NPC's they invent don't stand out. They're new, I don't know anything about them, their opinions hold no weight... even if a few mod friends I have were controlling the accounts.

I actually already asked about this in AtA and in-person when I visited the Gaia HQ xD
They said something along the lines of "they were tossing around the idea and that in 2013 the NPCs will be interacting with the community more".
