Vintrict

Yuni didn't protest to the hand on her head. Her inner feline had her leaning into the rubs, actually, a faint purr in her throat. She finished the odd fruit and threw the pit away into the trashcan, ears twitching at Vinny's words.

"Ah.. yeah... We did, but I dunno if I'd still say we 'ave a problem. I mean, I hope we don't." Yuni said, looking over to Rebekah and Nik. Rebekah hadn't been very bad with her, though she hadn't met Nik yet. Yuni looked back at Vintrict. "Nothin's happened since Rebekah got 'ere, though I dunno the other guy. They're like Kira's... great, great, great, great.......... great grandkids or somethin'."

Yuni pointed out the periwinkle haired woman with the snowy angel wings, so the man would know who she was talking about.

His eyes followed her head, once more the vampire in the room pointed out by another person. It was inevitable that he and this Rebekah were going to meet. And then they will have to talk. It looked like the people around here came from different backgrounds, including himself. He returned his eyes to the little neko.

"Well, if not vampires, any trouble in general? Saria asked me to stay around here for some added protection. It seemed she was worried about something."

Fray shrugged. "Okay," She said as Mohan asked to escort her upstairs. She took his hand and led him towards the bar exit. grabbing her bag as she did so. Once they reached the attic, she lit the candles with her hand and then went to the bathroom and locked the door behind her. Looking under the sink, she found an empty blood bag and needle, She pulled up her sleeve to reveal a series of cuts. Most were scars.. vampire bites, places that she'd been cut to give her blood for either vampires or spells. Quickly she inserted the needle into a vein in her arm and made a fist, pumping the blood bag full. "I hope they like alcohol," She muttered under her breath. Once it was mostly full she quickly put it away and tucked the full blood bag into her satchel. She flushed the toilet and rolled her sleeve back down before exiting. The process suggested that she'd been doing this for awhile... Conscious of her behavior although compelled to keep it a secret, Fray was internally torn. In fact she found herself forgetting she'd even done it shortly after she walked out of the bathroom and smiled at her fiance. Although she was feeling a bit light-headed now... "I'm tired, but I think the bar needs tended," She said as she sat down on the bed, wondering if Yuni would take over.. she was there now and okay after eating Kira's special fruit.

Rebekah smirked. pausing her dance to take another shot. "Yeah, yeah. What she doesn't know won't hurt her," She replied. When she offered her blood to them, Nik looked to Rebekah as if for her approval. She nodded her head once. "On your terms, of course," Nik said, holding his hand out for her. "Fancy a dance?" He knew all kinds of dances from over the centuries.. surely he could find something classier that would suit them. His blue eyes were endlessly full of mischief as were Rebekah's... Rebekah could easily function under the radar but now that they two of them were together, that was dangerous. Nik eyed up Kira, wondering how her blood would taste. "I imagine your blood holds great power. You are an angel?" He didn't want to assume about her but given the wings and aid she'd given Rebekah it was pretty obvious she was powerful.

As the two of them headed up to the attic, Fray immediately excused herself into the bathroom. After she shut and locked the door, Mohan pulled off his lab coat, draping it over the back of the chair by the desk. Something seemed off, and he couldn't put his finger on it. Fray seemed off. But then, Nik just showed up, and she just revealed to him her lack of powers. So there was plenty of reason for her to be off.

When the bathroom door opened again revealing a dizzy-looking kitsune, Mohan sat down on the bed, patting the space next to him to beckon her to sit. "Yuni or Kira will take care of the bar." He said. Those always-analyzing eyes scanned Fray over, noting that she looked visibly more tired than before she stepped into the bathroom. It was then that he noticed she wasn't wearing her vervain necklace.

"Hey, what happened to your necklace?" He asked.

Fray scooched over to Mohan and leaned against him, her bag slumping to the floor. "Huh?" When he mentioned her necklace she reached up to her neck to grasp it and found it missing. "That's weird.. Maybe I left it in the bar. Oops." Cheeks flushes a bit red from the alcohol and lack of blood, making her feel kinda delirious. Her brain operated like mush sometimes due to the holes in her memory from being compelled so much and also selling her memories long ago.. She still had some of the star balls in her possession. "Remember that time you asked me to marry you? That was cute," she giggled and kicked her boots off, trying to stand and then tumbling back beside Mohan. "Oops. Too many shots," she said with a hiccup before gazing at her ring. "Its so shiny." The kitsune placed a her hand on Mohans arm as if to steady herself. The window was open, the sound and smell of the ocean wafting in. The large moon hung high over the water, a red glow to it illuminated his face. The tiny star ball that had floated out the window towards Kira and Rebekah earlier came floating back in.. Glowing as it landed in Frays palm.

"Saria's always worried... I wonder if her head will asplode from worryin' so much..." Yuni said with her slate brow furrowing. She knew Saria had great reason to worry, especially with vampires.

The teen crossed her arms on the bar counter and leaned her chin to rest on them, a casual way to speak softly. And without the vampires seeing her do it, as she put Vintrict's body in the line of sight. Yuni gave him the run down from the best of her knowledge, knowing she might not know something that Saria would.

"The two vampires there come from a family o' some original breed. They had a psycho bro that hurt Fray the kitsune for years 'nd years, 'nd he hurt e'eryone 'ere pretty bad not that long ago. We killed 'im, but I guess Saria's worried his two siblings are gonna cause trouble. I dunno what they're capable of together, but Rebekah's been pretty chill since she came. Savvy?" Yuni said, her tail wagging to the beat of the music being played.

"Rebekah..." This time, Kira's voice had a warning tone. The angel would give her grandchild one more try, then things might get a bit dicey. And two vampires weren't as bad as a full grown mountain dragon. "You both are my responsibility. Do not compel anyone here at the Manor for blood but me, if you need it. Simply ask." Even though Kira and Kai couldn't be compelled.

From there, her attention turned to Nik who asked for a dance. She accepted, placing her hand in his offered one for him to lead them out. Kira gave a soft smile, trying to make her wings fold closer to her back. Unlike Kai's versatile wings, her own were fixed and couldn't retract. "It does, and I am. Of a sort. Not bound to any specific religious system, but to life itself. With my blood, you will not need as much to be satisfied."

Well, there was a social faux pas. Saria didn't expect Fray to walk into the kitchen and catch the tail-end of the 'boring account' of wedding planning. But she really didn't expect Fray's response, either, suggesting that her father was dead.

She blinked, watching as the door closed behind Fray. She remained silent for a moment, wondering what she had meant by that.

Then, the headache. She felt a sharp, twisting pain shoot through her frontal lobe, making it feel like her eyes were about to burn out. She gripped the edge of the counter she was leaning on, trying to steady herself as she braced the immense pain that rocketed through her like being struck by lightening. Memories of her parents' deaths flashed before her eyes, causalities of the vampiric raid on Taur-e-Ndaedelos. The vivid memory caused her to clench onto the counter even harder, anger flaring up inside her chest.

So, yes. Her mother and father were dead. This happened years and years ago... everyone knew that. Everyone knew that's why Saria had such a chip on her shoulder for vampires. So, why did she think her father was alive only a few moments ago...?

The pain subsided, and Saria released her grip on the counter. What just happened? She looked up to Ralic, a distressed look in her eyes, unsure of what to do now.

Mohan sighed as the inebriated kitsune giggled about him, but he couldn't help but smirk. She was cute. "I do remember proposing." He responded softly, bringing a hand up to her face to tuck a few strands of red hair behind her ear. "Haven't regretted it yet." He grinned.

He steadied his arm as Fray placed her hand on it, making sure he was a good foundation for her tipsy-ness. He watched as the star ball returned to the window, curious to see what the point of the star ball was.

But when it landed in her palm, Mohan noticed a bit of her sleeve slide up, and a scar on the underside of her wrist. He frowned, gingerly touching her wrist where the scar was. "Fray, what's-"

He stopped, realizing there were more scars hidden under her sleeve. A worried expression flashed across his face.

All the more reason for him to talk to the two vampires Yuni spoke of.

"Thanks, Yuni. You don't have to tell me anything else. I don't want to intrude on personal boundaries out of respect for Saria."

Fray peered into the star ball, images beginning to appear of Rebekah and Kira as they performed the spell to open the coffin and release Nik. She glanced to her wrist where Mohan touched her and instinctively looked away from his concerned gaze like she was ashamed of the scars. She thought Mohan had seen most of her scars from Jayke and other battle wounds, although there were fresh needle marks on her inner elbows. "Uh... you know, old scars," The kitsune responded sheepishly. The star ball acted as a recorder for her, sometimes aiding her with things she wanted to remember. She didn't have an unlimited supply of magical orbs though. Sometimes they found their way back to her, sometimes they got lost... Her magick wasn't as strong right now. She watched the images flashing across the ball, but didn't immerse herself entirely into the scene unfolding... only watched the ritual be performed and then the walk back to the Manor through the woods. Rebekah was explaining to Nik all the horrible things Jayke did to them, to her, and she abruptly left the ball float into the air and hover away.

Rebekah knew she shouldn't be compelling Fray for blood and now that Kira offered hers to them, she figured she'd stop. Nik smiled and took Kira's hand into his, putting his other arm around her waist and moved away from the bar into a waltz. "I know lots of dances.. Minuet, polka, the charleston, foxtrot, ballroom..." He rambled on a list of dances over the centuries originating from early Western Europe, most which were ridiculous and he wasn't fond of them, but he did like ballroom dancing and swept Kira across the floor to the music. "My family traveled often. We had many estates across the world," He said, his eyes glimmering for a time long ago. "Where do you hail from?" He asked, curious to the angel's background.

Hmm... nothing was really happening. Penelope peeked over the edge of the table to the inanimate robot while her two compadres, puffing her cheeks some though her reddish brown eyes remained blank. Kai looked up towards Luth who was still outlining the server with anti-virus programs and trojan hunting algorithms. She pressed a button on her holographic keyboard once the icy lad said he was done, initiating the server to boot the android's interface in order to start cracking down on all the problems it's been having.

Yuni grinned, her tail wiggling jovially behind her. She was happy she could give information to a friend, especially if it was information that could help keep him safe.

"Anytime, Vinny. Oh, ya want anythin' to eat or drink?" The teen asked while straightening up, rocking out a little bit to the music as she waited for a response.

Swept right into it, Kira gave a surprised laugh as she easily followed the steps of the waltz. She knew many old dances, including the ones her disciples tended to make up during their little balls. Nik appeared to be just as charming as his younger brother. Her free arm gently placed itself along Nik's upper arm, trying not to look down at her feet as she listened to him.

"Ah, would you suppose any of those estates still stand?" Kira asked out of curiosity, before answering. "Well, I hail from a realm not very far from here. I made it myself, and the Sanctuary that takes up most of the territories."

Vea watched as lines upon lines of coding came rushing through like a torrent of water, the antivirus programs spreading through like a disease, combating other diseases. Hundreds upon hundreds of trojans were simultaneously deleted, the coding even inspected Vea before turning away from her. Vea swam through the wires heading straight for central cortex of the brain, or in this case, the central command systems. The very thing that made DT unique in a way for it belonged to Vea, it was her space to sort and file the programs in the system, to collect new information and send it on its way to the proper location. Images and files, as well as secret documents, and folders. Processing reports, hardrive compatibility reports, DOS reports for the menial mental tasks, even audio and visual reports came flying through the central cortex. She sat there watching the files pass by, the increase of their speed suggesting the viruses had been taken care of, the brain was working at a hundred and ten percent capacity. "Yay! The people did it! The people did it!" She shouted mentally as she began to send the lost files to their proper locations, DT was off in a corner somewhere resting offline. Vea traversed the three dimensional space of the brain, going up, down, left, right, and horizontal, as well rolling through some wires. The filing system running at full speed the brain's activity would show beyond normal capacity for the usual android, and Vea would definitely show if one did a scan of individual partner programs. She ran on a battery source, he was powered by a mechanical heart, she would take that as proof he did in fact have a heart.

"Hm. Come to think of it...think you can do something special for me? Make me a fruit smoothie. With yogurt."

He could use a mid day snack, and a smoothie sounded like just the thing for him to grab.

Yuni's tail wagged eagerly at the request. Making a smoothie required using the loud blender thing. Yuni looooovvvvveed the loud blender thing. So she jumped up and started to look for the yogurt in the minifridge under the counter, and other things she knew or thought a smoothie with yogurt needed.

"What kinda fruity smoothie! All the kinds? Any kind?"

With the antivirus programs charging in and doing a beautiful job, Kai left Luth to bring up the surveillance program and the scanner. The large screen in front of him brought up many data and popup boxes, most of which he clicked away. Anything that showed it was going to be a problem, he would tell Kai and the odd angel would quickly write up a command prompt in the server to take care of it.

"Hey, I think we got a live one... What do you think this is?" Luth spoke up with Penelope peeking up at the big screen, watching the flashing popup box leave the main computer and fly to one of Kai's floating screens.

Dark sapphire eyes read over the scripts of this separate program in the android's cortex, watching task after task pop up in its own command box. With a bit of typing, Kai was left to ponder over what she found.

"V.E.A. Virtual Entity Assistant."

"So it has what? It's own A.I.?" A dark brow of Luth's quirked up.

"It appears so."

Penelope fiddled with her bottom lip. "Ooohhhmmm...."

Mohan wasn't even paying attention to the star ball. The scars and Fray's behavior had him worried, and he could tell when she lied. Well, sometimes he could. This time he could.

Poor doctor, sometimes he was quite dense when it came to understanding behavior. Science, easy. Medical practice, a piece of cake. Behavior? Not so much. But sometimes he did get it, and he was finally putting two and two together. She was acting so odd because of the effects of compulsion. He should be a pro at recognizing the foggy effects of compulsion after the ordeal with Jayke and even his own experiences with being compelled.

The hand that gingerly touched her wrist now turned into a grip. His doctor-ly behavior making sure to grip her in a way that was forceful but wasn't threatening as an attacker. Or, at least that was the intent. His other hand pulled up her sleeve, revealing the fresh wounds that she was clearly trying to hide.

"Frayda, what's going on?" He could tell the marks were from needles, but he couldn't tell what the activity was. Was she giving away her blood? Being forced to take something?
