Truthfully, id have to say my favorite january collectable is the Gift of the goddess.
the item was something id admired from afar since 2007 (had to get a new account >.< since i got hacked before >.> )
reason: (which probably sounds very cold, and calculating)
its cost efficient. this item was one of the ONLY items in which i loved every single form of it (which is very, very rare, especially for an item with more than 2-3 forms. this item had over 3 times that many forms!!! eek )
reasons to love each form:
the gift of the goddess- its attention to detail and color really amazed me. it made the colors vibrant and eye attracting. the idea of making it a sparrow was very thematic (since they were believed to be gods= part animal) and interesting to me since it was pointing down 0.0 iv only seen it depicted as a bird once and it was flying upwards.
Athena's enlightened cape-...ok im not going to lie..i was probably a little biased in liking this. im a crazy athena fan (if i was on jepardy, and the winning question was about athena, id be a very very rich person) but the fact that im her fan (to the point where i name my game characters after her xD ) was only half my reason for liking this pose. Many know athena as a goddess of war and battle strategies; not many know of her elegance as the goddess of wisdom and weaving (which i found kinda "punny" since the post is like a drape/cape) that and i think there was symbolism behind the color of the drapes and the doves (since they both symbolized purity) and that was also something Athena was famous for.
Athena's enlightened shoes- i just loved the idea behind this pose XD its like "these shoes will make whoever wears them smarter." which i found brilliant. That and the color scheme again had great impact on me. the contrast of gold and white. it really gives its audience the "goddess" feeling. its almost ethereal. that, and the fact that it reminds me of angels (-.- my weakness >.< ) were the main reasons i loved this pose.
kaguya's celestail robe- here it is!!! my LIFE TIME ROLE MODEL!!! the moon goddess!!!AND the goddess of victory!! how much better can it get?!! the color scheme definitely portrayed "power" and "victory" brilliantly, with dark purples, rich reds, and even gold and white for balance!! the design of it also interested me, the design of the sleeves reminded me of clouds and magic, since it gave that "gravity defying" and "elegant" look at the same time O_O
kaguya's celestail robe escort- i loved the idea of cranes on the moon! nothing is more graceful and fitting! (they are depicted a LOT in both chinese, japanese, and even korean mythology as escorts for princesses and goddesses)
kaguya's celestail cranes- xD i love how one of the functions is PURE cranes. that gives each gaian the ability to develope their own eastern mythology goddess. it gives them the freedom of designing however they want without having to base it off of "kaguya." it will be their own personal goddess.
durga's divine crown-...im not going to lie...i loved this hat because it was huge, and reminded me of buddha xD (i guess thats to be expected since buddha is indian) i loved durga's place in the design. since she is portrayed as invincible and inaccessible (plus she rides on a tiger!! XD we share a love for cats) she's the "divine mother," and this design definitely brought out that idea. its SHEER size gives one the idea of how wealthy and powerful she was, and yet, its color scheme gave a "motherly" and "kind" feeling. this design was a perfect in order to portray "i love you my child,....but missbehave and your in for it -.-"
Athena's enlightened laurel- xD and here we see the "angel" effect put into place again. i simply love laurels since they give that ancient greek look (well i guess thats expected) my reasons for loving this pose match the shoes. the only additional remarks would have to be, it definitely makes one look smarter when the wings are on the head , than legs
durga's divine collar- my reasons for liking this pose match the crown (only the crown had more..."omff" to it) the color gives off a "simple" look. it doesn't flaunt the power of durga and creates a beautiful balance.
Isis' royal adornment- i took a personality quize once and it said i matched isis xD the mother goddess. she seems to be more benevolent and motherly that durga. so i thought both the design and the color scheme were very fitting. it was more toned down and had warmer colors. like a real mother, yet, definitely still had the "higher power" edge to it.
Isis's royal wings- the colors "blue and green" give a calm and serene feeling to the audience. very fitting for both the structure of wings and the theme of a mother. the fact that the wings are lowered means that there is no danger around, one is completely at home in their surroundings, which in turn gives the same feelings to the viewers (which is the job of each mother instinctively) i felt this item was beautifully thought out.
Isis's royal wings flight- this pose shows "power."even if the job of each mother is to provide comfort for their child. it is also one of their instinct to protect their offspring. the wings expanded gives the audience that exact feeling. it sends the message that even though she may seem "soft hearted" one should not forget she is still powerful.
durga's divine grasp-....i have always wanted 6 arms XD aside from the beautiful contrast of colors (indian design and color scheme is truly captivating) it also keeps to the storyline. the pose depicts each of what Durga carried in battle, giving off the invincible air.
...i really hope i haven't put you all the sleep with my incessant babbling XD but i was on a ROLL XD
