Genna cursed herself for the cut. "Marcus?" she looked up, she hadn't even really noticed he came in. She used her good hand to pick herself up since Lucio had the dust pan. The huntress noticed that the vampire's eyes hadn't left her wound. Her eyes narrowed at him, must we do this? she asked herself and somewhat him. She felt cornered and unprepared if their friend were to attack. Her eyes went to Lucio for a split second and then refocused on Marcus

Internal conflict was all that was preventing Marcus from advancing on Genna. His instincts screamed to go for the kill, whereas his experience as a hunter denied it. Unwavered, his eyes remained locked onto the bloody hand with his teeth grit, the internal battle obviously being a slight bit tough for him. However, the choice was made. A significant growth of his vampire teeth was made.

Lucio jumped a bit with shock, but his hands instantly went to his pistols. Living with vampires was not a good idea. "Close quarters," he commented to Genna, "your bow is not going to be useful." One of Lucio's two pistols was laid beside her on the counter with a silencer beside it. "You know what it means when they're in the red zone." They won't regain self consciousness until they get their way.
Genna's hand trembled, she herself was having internal conflict. He was her friend, a former comrade though now he was a vampire, one that they stood beside each other to fight. She was surprised to see how quickly it seemed Lucio made his decision. The only thing between her and Marcus was their mutual comrade, Lucio, who had just passed her a pistol. Snapping the silencer on it swiftly, the huntress pointed the gun at the vampire with one hand, the bloody one behind her back. "I know that," she said back to the hunters comment almost sadly, she wasn't sure if she could do it, perhaps if he attacked her, but she had also seen his speed before. Even it was slower than her sisters, they were in close quarters, which was her weaker area.

Two pistols pointed to him did not deter the interest he had for Genna's blood. His eyes simply stared where her hand hid, fangs showing and eyes lacking life. He took one step closer, eyes slowly moving up and toward those of the huntress. An evil grin crossed his face and he made the first blink in what seemed like minutes. Simply a split second after that blink, he had already crossed several yards of what used to be space separating the hunters from their former comrade.

"Please Marcus," Lucio said aloud, wishing the man could hear. Unfortunately, this was not enough. Before his eyes, the vampire had rushed and was reaching his neck to get a bite into that of Genna's. Without hesitation, bullets were shot, but none were lethal hits to the ex-hunter.
Genna's eyes widened, she barely heard Lucio's plea to Marcus as she was focused on the hunter. She saw that he was gone and her body instinctively went for the attack. However, when she saw Lucio point at the attacker she tuck and rolled to his side. Tears were in her eyes, from pain of being grazed by bullets and having to keep the pistol pointed at him in case he didn't come to.

Marcus felt some bullets enter his body, but it didn't hinder him any. The vampire simply pursued as though the bullets hadn't existed in the first place. Only a split second passed and the environment had been assessed fairly accurately. There was a knife block within a yard of his grasp as Lucio was preventing further pursuit toward Genna. A simple plan was formulated and executed. The vampire grabbed what seemed to be the chef knife and thrust it at Lucio's chest to eliminate the possibility of further interruptions.

Fortunately for the vampire, it did pierce his chest. With a mixture of having only just woken up, lacking substance, and having to fight a former comrade, the knife dug deep into his mid torso, or a bit above his stomach. But rather than allowing the vampire to pull away, quite the opposite happened. The hunter pulled him in and shot the remaining clip into what was the vampire's heart. Counting the bullets was tough, considering a knife was in his chest, but some 8 or 9 shells could be found sitting on the ground. The hunter let go once the magazine emptied, gasping heavily and eyes tearing up from the extreme pain. Whether or not Marcus lived was beyond him.

The knife was dropped, but not because he was injured. His mind was focused on the sweet smell of Lucio's blood. Focus dropped as his teeth jumped toward the fallen hunter's neck.
Genna shot at the vampire as he went for Lucio, but the knife was already in the hunters chest. Though it wasn't hers, she could feel a sting of pain in her own, causing her to nearly gasp for air. Shots were fired from his pistol, and there was a moment of silence. The huntress got to her feet, ignoring the bullet burns and pistol whipped the vampire in the mouth, to cause him to bite the butt of the gun rather than the hunters neck. She then kicked him in the gut to cause him to backwards as she pulled the pistol away. Being in nearly full hunt/survival mode, the huntress pointed and shot the vampire, standing guard of her comrade that she could not bare to loose now.

Lucio could have sworn the teeth had dug into his jugular, but instead, a pistol had guarded the sensitive skin. Gasps of air continued to drag in and out of his mouth, hands doing a poor job at stopping blood from pouring from his body. If he was lucky, he would live with serious scarring and pain in that area permanently. Luck didn't look like it was on his side at this rate, though. Fortunately, the vampire did end up leaving. His head rested against the side of the counter, now sitting on the floor with draws of pained breaths.

The vampire couldn't deal with any more pain, nor the risk of being killed. After shots were fired, Marcus made a quick yet sloppy exit, slamming into walls with a slight dizziness and leaving blood streaks on the way.
Genna didn't even bother watching the vampire leave, she just felt his presence gone. She then dropped down next to Lucio, pulling off her shirt to press against the wound to hopefully soak up more blood. s**t, s**t, s**t, she thought trying to figure out what to do. It seemed that he was fortunate enough that the blade of the knife didn't get any major organs. That fact let a small breath of heavy air escape as she continued to put more pressure on it. "Hold on," she nearly cried, shakenly getting up and rummaged through the drawers until she found what she was looking for. Forgetting that he was awake, she put a lighter up to the wound to begin to cauterize it. As it singed shut, and her nose was burning with the disgusting smell, tears ran down her cheek. Her hands were trembling as she grabbed a clean cloth and wiped around the wound. Memories of Jason filled her vision as she looked at Lucio, not really seeing him as him, through her tear filled eyes. "You can't go like this," she cried, brushing a kiss along his lips, "I love you, don't leave me..." Her head fell on his chest, just as it had for Jason, and silent tears dropped off her cheeks.

His bloody hands were removed so the huntress could replace them with her shirt. If he was not in this terrible, dying condition, he would have probably blushed. However, he was surprised he could even hear her over his own heart beats. Suddenly, his teeth were grit and he let out a silent yell from the burning pain. It almost lasted an eternity, but when the pain stopped, her lips were to his. He forced a smile with tears of pain and a sort of sadness. "Please stay here," Lucio pleaded in a near inaudible voice, his bloody hands barely resting on her back. Coughs of sadness ensued, "please stay..." It wasn't in his interest whether or not life would continue for him. He just wanted this moment with Genna while he could have it.
Genna was surprised to hear him talk. Her eyes blinked a few times, revealing it was Lucio whom she just kissed. She bit her lip and nodded, "of course I will..." The tears came back into her eyes as she simply just watched over him. This is all my fault, she thought looking around at the damage of the house. With a painful sigh, she laid next to him, "of course..." she repeated, the bullet marks causing her discomfort and for her to cringe.

A final effort before passing out was made. Lucio leaned as far as he could and managed to lay a small kiss on Genna's forehead. "I...," he began in the whisper, gasping to get his breath, "lo..." He broke down into unconsciousness, but the heartbeat was still audible with Genna's head to his chest. His hands never slid off of the huntress.
Genna didn't know how much time had elapsed since the fight. All she knew is that she had to pee and needed clean up her own wounds. She had been comforted by the sound of his heart while he was unconscious and was surprised to feel his hands still on her bare back. Slowly, she weaseled her way out of his grip and went into the bathroom. The sight of herself made her cringe, and she turned away from the mirror and did her business. She rubbed some ointment on the wounds, breathing sharply at the touch, before she exited the bathroom. Without thinking she went back to check on Lucio, figuring that it was more important than a shirt and her wounds needed air anyway, not including the fact that he should be unconscious.

Lucio's eyes were barely cracked open as he heard what sounded like footsteps. He wished desperately that his vision wasn't so blurred and darkened, but managed to make out the shape. His hands moved away from his chest and to the floor, feeling a sort of stickiness. What had happened? Why was he in such pain? Looking back, the most he could remember was Genna saying 'I love you'.
Genna saw Lucio's eyes open some. "Lucio!" she cried, nearly throwing herself on him happily. "I'm so glad to see you open your eyes!" she smiled. She placed a hand on either side of his head as she looked down at him happily, forgetting that she looked like she herself was ran over. Nothing else mattered to her right now, except that her fellow hunter was alive.
