- ((Sorry it's late.))
- As Raguel reached out to pet Max, he didn't flinch. Instead, he closed one eye, rather enjoying the attention. However, as Raguel made movements as if he were about to attack his owner, the dog's mood immediately shifted, a low growl erupting from Max's throat. Not quite expecting such a reaction from the young male, Jaime took one large step backwards, readying her bat in case she needed to use it. However, she really didn't want to. Not on humans. Not on two kids. If it came down to it though, she most certainly would. Realizing that he had yet to make an attempt to harm her, Jaime's shoulder's relaxed slightly. However, she still wasn't about to trust the strangers enough to lower her weapon.
Jaime remained silent a moment after Raguel's introduction. "Magenta... what sort of name is that?" She couldn't resist. A small laugh followed her words. As little as she knew about how much of a threat the two teenagers might be, her snarky attitude managed to seep through. Besides, Mr. Perfect wasn't very creative. Jaime fought away the urge to cringe at the sight of Raguel playing with the dagger in his mouth. "Careful kiddo, don't want to cut your tongue out." Jaime warned condescendingly. Of course, she really didn't find him mature enough to handle such a weapon after his first impression on her.
Then, more sudden movements caused Jaime to tense up once more. Instead, he moved in the opposite direction, flying back behind Jack. However, his words did bring satisfaction. She apparently scared him enough that he thought she was capable of killing him, and of course, she found satisfaction in his unintended compliment. Even though first one wasn't much of an accomplishment once she took age into account. Jaime found herself cautiously eyeing the hand of the other stranger. The male with... Magenta, called himself Jack. A little of a high voice, but Jaime assumed it was because Jack hadn't hit puberty or something like that. Plus, Jack seemed to have more sense than the idiot with him.
Eyeing Jack's hand, she realized she had to make a decision. Stick around, or ditch them. However, two young teens stuck wandering the streets alone, not much older than Katie, didn't sit right with her. Besides, Magenta was obviously capable of nothing useful by the looks of it. So, she made her decision. Jaime lowered her bat, reaching a hand out and returning Jack's polite gesture. "Jaime." She replied with an attempted half-hearted smile. Max had stopped his growling a while back, but still stared at the two unsurely. "Easy boy." Jaime said, her eyes drifting over towards the dog. Her words calmed him and he returned to his original excited state.
"So... Uh. Can't say I'm too good with introductions, so we can just skip the nonsense, yeah?" Jaime spoke, her tone rather blunt and uneasy. She still didn't trust them, but it took a lot for her to trust anyone as it was. "Is there anywhere specific you two were headed? It's not safe to stand out in the open like this." She spoke, nodding her head over in the direction of a zombie across the road, who had yet to fully catch attention of them. Of course, she wasn't willing to abandon her mission, but maybe they were going somewhere that she planned on looking around for Katie. "You guys didn't happen to see a little blonde girl in there did you?" Jaime asked, pointing a finger towards the grocery store. It seemed unlikely that they would have run across her, plus hopefully, Katie would have listened to her rules about strangers... which Jaime seemed to be failing completely.
TL;DR
Jaime replies to Raguel, remaining cautious around the two before Jack convinces her that they're not trying to be threats. Jaime then introduces herself, asks them where they are going, and also asks if they've seen Katie.
