Well, the problem with high school is that 90% of the things you learn will probably be useless once in college. I think that's because high school encourages you to go for the elite professions, which, not even close to everyone can achieve. So, yeah, I pretty much agree with you, but if things were all in textbooks, education would be completely boring...Also, it's hard to see competency of a teacher via the textbook. I mean, think of how many teachers a high school needs to manage year by year. It's too much to take time with, unless they have money and they get all the doctors, but only college can do that, because school is all funded by taxes. Colleges are different, which is why it's the preferable form of education. Of course, had it been just colleges like in the 1700s-1800s, not many people would be educated.

Well, see, that's exactly what college is, and it's always the case that we have to pay enormous amounts for college. I can see what you're saying, but the increased labor that we would require to organize that just isn't possible in consequence to the standards of our economy.

Yeah, but to specialize kids to get into certain programs and all that stuff would take lots of organizing, hence making us pay a lot more for the extra labor the government will be doing, since taxes won't pay for it all. We used to have a system like this in feudal systems and such, but apparently that didn't work for the best, and so we have our current education systems. I think it's just meant to tell us to aim high and strive for the most prestigious. Then, when people start paying attention to that and we're all professors and scientists, we'll be making schools to teach people how to play sports and wrestle. The pathological makeup is too unstable to come up with something that always works. It never will, so we just rely on ourselves to make it work.

Also, that's a fun idea, but I'm not sure any of my family will appreciate being portrayed with antlers coming out of their foreheads...^^

I'm not sure how you end up learning about cultures in English, but I usually learn because we're always reading different books. That way, there's always some new knowledge to learn, and some new perspective on some certain thing in life. But, usually the liberal arts matter to people who are interested in theater and journalism and such. It depends on who you are, really. But, you know, not everyone's going to become a Chemist or a Physicist or a Mathematician. You're right; mostly, school trains us for things too far out and mostly unnecessary. It's really college that helps you train for these things, and quite possibly, that could be a little too late in life, because technology is always advancing, and so our generations are going to have to keep up with it. Apparently by 2010, technology will have something new every 72 hours. How new, I'm not sure, but that's fast...

Also, I wish I could just draw portraits, because I could...only I already did it...So, I have to really think out of the box, and I'm still lost.

I'm not saying it's always pointless, it's just pointless most times because they don't really capitalize on learning; just enforcement. The class you usually learn most in are English and Literature classes, but for the other classes, you just move from concept to concept seamlessly, and the only thing there that makes you remember it is just s sheet of paper. But...you know...a lot of high school really is pointless.

And, you know, I like to be creative...I mean, being too simple just isn't my thought process. Like, if I have to, I just draw something or make something because it's not something materially bought. Remember? It's the thought that counts. Yay for morality.

Yeah...A lot of times, homework is just so...pointless, because it instills so many things you know too well...But whatever, we do it because we feel we have to. And, yeah, I have to buy for like 6 people, and I have like $120, so that's pretty harsh, since there might be uneven distribution, and it's just really hard to think of good presents for like $20...

Eh, just got home from school. *Initiate Sarcasm* I'm going to love doing my homework so much over the weekend. I've got a research paper, two random art projects for World History, and a test to study for! Yay! *End Sarcasm* I have to plan getitng Christmas presents for everyone. I've got the worst limits monetarily...so I'm going to really have to plan what I buy.

I drew Jimi Hendrix and it looks just like him. I took the base drawing and did him at a different angle and it's still freaking amazing. I'll scan it and show you soon, but I'm really proud of myself. ^_^
