It was very interesting. I was a little disappointed that the dancers did not dress up in their native dress. Otyher than that it was very relaxing. I have never went to a festival where I felt this relaxed.

Yes I did!
I even had three lessons on a button box accordion which is going to take a lot of time for me to learn to play. I am going to try to find a button box instructor here in Dayton, In Cleveland there are many button box accordion instructors but not here in Dayton.
This a little bit what took place.
This a little bit what I did I on Thanksgiving day as well as up to Yesterday.
I had a lot of fun. Did you know that Cleveland, Ohio is the home of Rock and Roll Hall Fame? Also, Cleveland, Ohio is also the home of the Polka Hall fame. As well as the capital of the polka here in the USA.
I meet several polka players from Alaska, Canada, and the Netherlands. The Alaska group is a fun group. There are two sisters and one fellow in this group. One sister plays the double bass (better known as the bass fiddle) the other sister plays a button box accordion and the guy plays a banjo. They have a unique sound. The sister that plays the button box accordion also plays the keyboard.
Then one piano accordion player had a midi set in which he could make almost all the sounds of the music instruments in the western world, like a: church organ, banjo, flute. trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, tuba, trumpet, bass clarinet, bass sax, as well as many string instruments, it takes him almost an hour and half to set up his equipment,and another hour and a half to tear down. Then on Saturday was an awards ceremony which many awards were handed out like in the other fields like the Oscars and the grammy's awards. This event started on Monday before Thanksgiving and finished on Saturday night. However, I was only there on Thursday through Saturday and stayed over on Sunday because I am learning to play the button box accordion.
Then on Saturday night there was a polka mass it is only the third time I have attend a Catholic mass and this mass was very interesting. After the mass was over I did get to meet the Bishop, and the Priest
I believe it is estimated that 1,500 attended the activities. I want go back next year. I believe next year will be even bigger than this year because next year (20011) will be the 50 th year for this event and the 24 th year for the awards.
Great time great food. I ate breakfast at 6:30 in the morning and ate lunch anywhere from 4:30 to 6:30 in the evening. the music was in several rooms at the hotel I stayed at, and the breakfast were big, French toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, hot and cold cereal, orange juice, and three other kinds of juice, tea coffee, milk. and many fresh fruits and pastries, and you could go back for seconds. Which I did not. I really enjoyed the music and I learned a lot from listening to the different musician.
Three were four big tour buss loads of people from Canada. And several bus loads of people from Michigan , and Pennsylvania.
I had Thanksgiving dinner at a Slovenian Restaurant in Cleveland, I had no idea what was on the menu since the menu was written in Slovenian. But our friends translated the menu to us.
What a really unique way to celebrate Thanksgiving in our own country, yet in a different culture.
Some of the food was different, very excellent and it was something new for me to try.

Thank you for the Happy Thanksgiving.
I hope you will have a great Thanksgiving,
This year it will not be the traditional Thanksgiving for me but it will be a great meal.
We are going to go a Slovenian Restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio. We are going to Polka Festival that started on Monday and will end sometime on Sunday afternoon or early evening.
We will at the festival early Thursday morning morning until it closes on Sunday.
