Oh interesting! surprised I was voted "Most Unique" because I was a big ******** weirdo and everyone who spent any length of time around me figured that out real quick. lol
Maybe you're funny in a more subtle/dry way? :V Humor like that can be better than the in your face stuff at times.

Hmm; it kind of was, I did have a lot of friends I made from playing so much, and we'd crew up together a lot. But if you had communities based around other things that you fell into instead, then I don't think you'd be missing out. Like, I never got big into the RPing scene on here, but I'm sure there was a large community for it in the heydays, so I could technically have missed out on that.. but I had community in other aspects that aren't available now, so I don't consider that I truly missed out - there's only so much time in a day, so there's only so many places you can hang in enough to be considered as part of the community. You just gotta focus on what you're most interested in. 3nodding
Communities are always building up and dying; I think it might be kind of the way of things, so I just try to enjoy my time in whatever community I find myself in at the time and make the most of it since it probably won't be around forever, or I might get distracted and dart off to some other place.

Mmm they've changed some, but a lot is still the same, actually. Most of the changes have been finding new stuff to like, not a lot has been removed, though I don't remember for sure. I know a lot of the stuff on there has been on there for a long time.
I do live in Texas; the DFW area. My username is the title of [my favorite Cradle of Filth song]

Sorry for the late reply; got a bit busy with work for a few days there and just kinda stalled out when I was at home. lol! XD

Actually I've gotten into the swing of things in terms of being on here, posting and messing with my avatar and such.
So many new items, all seemingly at random too.
Like this one!
Word Bubbles are quite cool and I just got this randomly from a charitable user.
Heck, I've been getting quite a few gifts on here...from charitable users...some of 'em Sneaky.
surprised
But I'm not complaining at all. I'm back! For the most part.

I wish the upcoming year to be the one that realizes everything you do is worthy of the payoff your hardwork deserves.
I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to afford to go "green" in terms of driving a car, but I recently had the opportunity to drive a semi-hybrid and it was actually sorta cool.
Half gas, Half electric. The engine was whisper quiet until it needed the extra power and then it came to life.
I doubt I'm minivan material, but I'm always keen on the Toyota 4runner jeeps.
Lovely make and model, reliable, sizeable and more than enough to fit 2.5 kids and a wife in.
Two right after the next so they have playmates of each other and a wee one that they can both protect when they learn how to protect themselves and be a team.
I hope me and whomever I've that dream with are capable of giving them the same lifestyle I had growing up or even one better.
The love will be there, but the stability and access to resources to grow a happy and well rounded child...is something I'm still striving for.
I'd rather my kids grow up with a dad that's a dork, not a dad that's a dictator or deadbeat due to external factors.
But that's a bit of a ways off...or atleast not this year..I think.
sweatdrop
Happy New Year!

Before I got the initial COVID vaccine, knowing how I react to vaccines I did a careful risk benefit analysis and the answer was clear. The risk from COVID at the time far exceeded the risk from the vaccine and the benefit from it far exceeded the risk even for me. I don't regret getting it and once I'm fairly certain my thyroid situation is stable will likely get the omicron booster. It has been a full year since the last booster. I seriously doubt the vaccine contributed to anyone's death. At most it would have put more stress on a body already overstressed by other issues (my present situation, hence my wait). But COVID in such a situation would almost certainly be fatal, and if not then serious longCOVID. I am really well versed in science (many interests and a few degrees) so I was able to separate hype on both sides from fact in my researches.

It's good you're in the educational sides of things. From how you stated it, it sounds like the right place for you and one you likely should have gone to sooner. Experiences though make you a better teacher.

I really have and it likely will but ironically; it's everything going wrong in my life these last few years that have prevented me from traveling to house hunt and be up for such a long distance move with our 7 cats and 35+ years of possessions gathered from being in one place for so long. We have cleaned out sections of the house and property of course but it's been over 10 years for some areas. So lots of work to do in preparation to all of this too.

That is funny and what a blessing! Why did they then return to VA? Not due to the baby surely.

Yep you were single when we met. I remember you talking about having to be the prettiest woman in the room, having learned that from your mother. How long have you been married? Yep, we do mature with time, gain perspectives and experiences that are invaluable. The body breaking down ever faster with age not so much.

As for time being odd, it goes by very slowly when we're young, both very slowly and far too quickly simultaneously when old, measured and followed in society closely in artificial constructs (think of the time at the same time as here in Australia being a full day ahead in the same instant and the invention of daylight savings time) and as we use it, is an entirely artificial construct separate from space and other properties of the universe, which is fully false. And then in quantum mechanics, there is the recent discovery of time crystals... oh yes, time is strange.

Yeah, I can't take the flu vaccine either; the 2 times I tried in past years, the reaction was serious enough doctors told me not to in the future. Are you still a nurse? Yeah, that'd put you in a very tough spot, needing the vaccines to protect yourself and your patients but unable to tolerate the flu vaccine. How did you do with the COVID vaccine? I had it rough, and that 3rd booster just 2 weeks before the pneumonia vaccine might have set me up for the reaction going into my lymph nodes and lasting months. My advice to you is if you do get more vaccines, space them out at least 2 months apart. I wish I'd known that at the time.

Same here, I prefer car trips, exploring off the beaten path over cruises, parties, crowded touristy areas full of cliche kitsch. My friend does like some of that even though she, like me is introverted. So we did a bit of it too but not so much it was overwhelming to me. Fortunately for both of us, we're both fairly social introverts. mrgreen

Well, I'm now closer to 70 than 60 and my husband is just 1 year older than me. I thought you were still in your late 20s and single when we met on Gaia; but time did fly by; I think it was around 2010 give or take. Time, what a very odd thing!

XD Ah, it happens~ Ty ty, I try to generally have a sense of humor about stuff. 3nodding Oh unintentional funny is the best; like you say something that's a fun pun or something and don't realize it until others do. XD!!

Oh man, yeah, getting stuck on that, if it was a glitch, I can understand being a real pain. X__X! They ended up changing it where you could go to this other area they made, and they totally removed the train station area. XD I wasn't quite like a duck at first; I played for a bit, couldn't quite figure it out, gave up, then my sis helped me get to level 10 and I wanted to beat the EB, so I finally made the switch to crewing with randos and fell in at that point pretty hard! XD Yeah I think I probably have a decent amount of them, idk exactly how much though; I spent a LOT of my time farming the Papa Saw run, and sometimes the DMS run. I didn't focus too hard on the medals. xP Awww~~ ; w; If it was still easy to get to, I'd love to have helped teach ya stuff. That was something I'd do a lot in the Papa Saw runs, since it was a lower-level run and there were lots of newbies around; I'd help teach them lil tricks and tips to help them play better. > v<!

If there's anything you aren't familiar with, lemme know and I'll share some stuff with ya! 8D I can listen to some fairly obscure s**t, so it's liable that a lot of people haven't heard of some of the stuff I like. XDa
And the shows, too, I'll tell you about whatever you might be interested in that you don't already know~ 3nodding
That's really awesome that we have so much in common! XD <333

Yeah sadly. I had a few years of unending incredible stress with overlapping crisis, took in some serious smoke inhalation and a cascade effect started with my health. Right now my thyroid is vacillating between hypo and hyperthyroidism causing all kinds of side problems. It's taking months to figure out and we're a long ways from it as it takes 8 weeks between dose changes of levothyroxine to find out what the result is. At the start of the problem I had a really bad reaction to a pneumonia vaccine which may have been the trigger or the final straw. It's been a very long year.

The part of VA I'm looking at had some of that too, on some of the hillier streets.

I used to travel a lot more when younger too, around the US. We planned to do a lot more after retirement but that saying life happens when you're making plans hit with a vengeance. Now my husband doesn't really want to travel except to see friends and family or move. I do though and I go with a friend sometimes on epic road trips once in a very great while. Although the one this year was a bit too epic; we both decided to make them shorter in the future, lol. We're both getting too old for 12 hour plus drives.

Wait, getting older? I thought you were maybe in your 30s. Regardless, I'm guessing there will be adventures in your future. I know I will have them until I die.

I think it's the north central part in or near Lauden county. If my health stabilizes and there are no more curves thrown at us, we plan to go look at houses in VA next April or so.

OK, there's a story in that. Where are you from originally? I get you're not happy where you are now but hopefully you're happily married at least. Where do you dream of ending up?

Oh my. Yep it's a very different culture than here. Here we leave wildlife be. The rattlesnakes here aren't aggressive so it's easy to avoid them using some common sense. No, I've not eaten either of those two reptiles nor any other.

Oh I see. So you got to experience different areas as a nurse only to find there's no place like home. I've visited Va a few times because my husband has some family there. It's much more humid than here but I found I could tolerate it OK. I just hide inside on the hottest and coldest days. Here it gets plenty hot but not that humid. The air quality is really bad though 3 seasons a year and the 4th has insane pollen counts so an allergy nightmare. It's a huge reason we're leaving the state. I'm originally from San Francisco so it took me a very long time to get used to flat lands.

And a Happy and Prosperous New Year to you too.
I'm pushing to be on here daily(ish), if not just to get those little stamps and whatever freebie items I can get.
But also for presence! And Conversation with the likes of you and you like people.

The hectic nature of the holiday, I've managed to avoid, but I can't help but feel bad for now knowing that alot of people had their Christmases and lives ruined by the huge storm that blew through Canada and America recently.
I often wish for it to snow as much as possible when I'm in America during the winter, but jeez.
Lifetime storm. Lifetime of hurt for the unfortunate.
2022 hasn't been a good year for most and it's keeping it's promise on it's way out, it seems.
Here's to hoping neither of us are tainted anymore than usual by it.
Into the next year, my friend!

Thank you.
It was, for the most part.
Gave my bro his gifts, we sat about and had a sober talk and played a few videogames from our youth.
Couldn't ask for anything else, save having X-mas with a family of my own creation.
But that's a ways off.

Even though we're a tropical climate, the Winter nights here can get pretty cold and damp.
That's the closest I can come to Hot Chocolate weather.
But I'll take it.

Lol, well, thanks for not being too mean! XD <3 Your comments were fun though~

Back when zOMG was popping, there were events for like Halloween and Easter on zOMG where there were high leveled bosses and people would mass add people [who wanted to be added] so that we could make use of the layer hopping system to get to the layer with the boss and get to the boss to get a hit on it and get the reward. XD I was too lazy to ever remove them. A good amount of it also comes from just being here for .... since 2004. xP

But damn! Lots of things in common; anything in particular you'd wanna chat about? surprised

OK, we can swap you for rattlesnakes which also apparently taste like chicken. Goose does not however; it tastes like roast beef!!! (really!)

Funny thing, you going to CA then VA; we are looking to move to VA. To you it seems hilly, to me it seems kind of flat after all the mountain ranges here. What brought you to CA then VA? Sounds like you're not leaving TX again, lol.

Moving over from my bugs thread.

And ironies of ironies, I see you now have no avi at all! rofl How did you manage that? The invisibility cloak?

N. CA is only wooded in some parts. Some parts are vast prairie grasslands and grass covered hills, some areas are volcanic, some are desert. And some areas are as fully urban as the LA area with traffic just as bad. The freeways are not quite as insane to navigate however. Very close though.
