Hello there. I'm Detective Mark Hoffman, currently working on the Jigsaw case.

I've been with the case since the beginning. I know how he works. It's probably how I've lasted this long.

"The beginning" meaning since the pendulum trap, of course. The victim's name was Seth Baxter. The murderer of Angelina-- his girlfriend, my sister.
He was sentenced to prison for life, but released only five years later due to a technicality.

Thank god Jigsaw got him.

Anyway. I'm going to be the one to solve this and catch the ********.
Why? I'm not sure.
Maybe I want to thank him for disposing of my sister's killer.
Maybe I just want to see his face.
Or maybe I want to ask him how he managed to elude us for so long.

"Are you there, detective? If so, you are probably the last man standing. Now, perhaps you will succeed where the others have failed. You feel you now have control, don't you?
You think you will walk away untested."

Everyone else on the case has died. I'm the last man standing.
He promised, however, that though I'm the last, I won't remain untested...

"I promise that my work will continue. That, I have ensured.
By hearing this tape, some will assume that this is over-- but I am still among you.
You think it's over just because I am dead.
It's not over.
The games have just begun."
