About
Hi, I'm not good at these so I'll keep it short and sweet.
I have severe nostalgia pangs for Gaia. heart
I enjoy reading fiction and I love to draw.
I came back after a considerable hiatus of uh, some years; so I don't know how long I'll be around but if you see me about, feel free to say hi!

It's neat that you taught at an art class! If the focus of the class is about fine arts, I suppose I can see why management would want to tweak the children's work and intervene to give pointers. I used to take a fine arts class with a private instructor for over a decade, and he would regularly come around and make some minor (or major, haha) corrections to student work. That's sort of how I learned from my mistakes and improved. However, I do personally feel that if the class is geared towards expressive art with the goal of enjoying the process of art-making or producing creative art, that children should have the freedom to make art as they wish. They should be able to do that without the teacher "correcting" what they make! I totally agree with you on that one.
What type of art would you be interested in? Like traditional art, design, illustration, etc?
There are actually quite a few careers I'd LOVE to be in as well. Art therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy are big ones on my list. I have a hard time focusing on just one thing. whee
Sorry to hear it isn't really something that you're super passionate about, though! Do you have a hunch as to what you would find to be a motivating career? It's never too late to make a switch, and perhaps you could find the flexibility to do something part-time. Or, something to merge hospitality management with your area of interest! I'm just thinking about my field, and if I had a hospitality management background, I could really bring a lot to the table at a rehab or skilled nursing facility.
Yeah, at some point (very soon, it seems like), our school admin will be reaching out to CPS. There seems to be neglect and possible abuse going on in that home. sad
I do love the work that I do! It's not a glamorous job, nor is the pay good, but I absolutely love it.
I'm curious to know -- what's your area of study? Are you currently working?
I realize this was totally TMI, but to answer your question -- yes, I've come across numerous parents who are not sensitive to their child's needs. whee
