Orfil: The City of all Eyes

Description

Orfil, the ancient city that stands alone in the vast south-west ocean, holds all the key to the past, present, and future. This city is also known as: The City of all Eyes. Within the Citadel of Knowledge, there are a collection or blind oracles who have been blessed with the power to vaguely predict the future and the destiny of the lands of the living. Centered based by the words spoken by the oracles and their knowledge, giving it the ancient effect. However, the numbers of the oracles has decreased due to the deaths of seven out of the eleven oracles.

However, one of the four oracles may be seen in the public eye, while the others prefer the privacy within themselves and meetings if summoned.

Local Perks:

-> The Seeing Eye Marketplace – One of the perks that is offered to the public is a small marketplace on the outskirts of the city.

-> With this, guests are permitted to sacrifice dearly to them in order to get a prediction from the oracles. A prediction of their own future.

-> The Fountain of Times – To guests who desire to seek knowledge from the past, they are invited to step up the Stairs of Fate that lead up to the Citadel of Knowledge, to peer into the Fountain of Times. With a sacrifice of something beloved, the guest may peer into the fountains and seek something of the past of what they desire.

-> The Stairs of Fate – Visitors are welcomed to visit the Citadel of Knowledge, but are honored to climb the stairs that lead up to the large citadel. There are thousands of steps to walk up, but each stair has an encrypted tale of those who had stepped on these stairs, and created history of the past and formed the future.

-> The Whispering Tavern – With the local tavern found near the marketplace, guests are welcomed to stop and seek shelter in The Whispering Tavern. With a restaurant found inside with a bar, as well as several rooms to accommodate the visitors.

-> Orfil Port – With the ships coming in from Telchal Port and Woodeye Port, this port can only fit two ships per visit. However, the Air Port of Galmil is also accepted, due to the landing dock being found on another section of the dock.

Galmil: Crown of the Dwarf Nation

Description
Galmil is the head of the Dwarvish nation, founded orginally as a offshoot of the growing Borak city to bring a greater source of wealth in a defendable port. The city has grown strong in both engineering, and prowess in trade, however trading between Galmil and other nations is almost non-existent. Their major source of income comes from the sister city Borak.

Politically the relationship between Borak and Galmil is slowly becoming rocky. The overworld crowd of Galmil are known in Borak as the Joens, or wealthy snobs, this includes the resident King of the dwarves of Galmil. It could be said that the rivalary of the cities is due in part to a sibling rivalry between the King of Galmil Dwali, and the Lord of Borak Khalin.

Local Perks

-> Galmil Forge, the largest forge in any nation, is used to craft superior weapons and tools.

-> Gathola Lock, this port and lock is known for its huge array of fish and wildlife. It is said that the Dwarves of Galmil are so fond of the local fauna that they feed the wild creatures from spaces in side of the fortress.

-> The resident Halflings. It is known far and wide the brillance of the halflings and the residence of this city are employed to increase the fortress city’s strength.

-> The Solum is an underground trasportation system between the two great dwarf kingdoms, it features a wheeled contraption capable of transporting 20 dwarves at a time.

Ny'nal: The Floating City

Desciption: The second largest Draconem city on [Earth], Ny’nal sprung up about the base of the mountaintop and the structure crowning its peak. As the decades passed, the city has since expanded from its temples devoted to their figure Vigil and the small market down opposite the mountain, to now stretch out to honeycomb the surrounding pillars of rock jutting up from the valley below.

Military bases dot the peaks and regiments patrol the streets below, ever on alert for trouble from the nearby region of Borak. Outsiders must pass through several checkpoints to enter the city to ensure its protection, and airships must display a special symbol in order to dock and trade with Ny’nal and its merchants.

Local Perks:

-> Markets: Though distrusting of outsiders, Ny’nal has no shortage of imported goods from other cultures. Regular airship traffic ensures a constant flow of supplies, most of them legal.

-> Vigil’s Watch: A massive pillar crowned with the crystal won by Vigil in the Evenstar War thousands a years ago, Vigil’s Watch is often referred to as the Pillar of Strength or the Southern Point. During the day the crystal collects light from the sun and exudes its collection throughout the night, acting as a beacon to travelers and captains alike. Followers of Vigil are known to travel miles to pay respect to the man and his sacrifices for the draconem during the Evenstar War.

-> Temples of Vigil: Tucked against the base of the peak in the shadow of the Watch, a series of temples devoted to Vigil and his practices are still used to this day. Entering these temples and their grounds without the express permission of the monks within may result in severe punishment or even death for repeat offenders.

Linevrion: City of Lights
Desciption: Linevrion is the elvish capitol, and is known as the city of lights. Bioluminescent plant life appears within the marble of the city itself, and in the elves native to this region. The city itself has no torches, candles, or lights of any kinds, instead choosing to rely upon the bounty of natural light provided in the form of flora and crystals. Night is when Linevrion truly comes to life, rising up from the [earth] in a spectacular display of light visible for miles.

The guard of Linevrion use weapons forged by the halflings of Astier for their superior metals and clever craftsmanship, an act that is shrouded in questionable acquirement. Access to Linevrion is restricted by the guard, excluding all races but the people of Ingdale, who they are known to commune with.

The body of water south of the city is referred to as the Sea of Stars for the thousands of glowing organisms living within its depths. Once a year, during the Festival of Light, the lumen elves flock to the sea to place luminescent stone atop a boat and sent it out into the waters.
