well, things are looking UP!
Right now I work at an answering service 3-11 Thurs thru Mon for $12/hr. The job is pretty easy for the pay (I am at work right now) but my boss is problematic. He blows up over stupid stuff all the time. Hard to respect someone who will scream at a staff member for ten minutes in public AND show marked favoritism towards his drinking buddies and family members who work here.
Also, I am way behind on my bills (still owe 3 people Xmas presents). I have over $1000 in vacation pay owed to me by the business, but they will not give it to me to help me out. "Vacation pay is for VACATIONS". Right, I have trouble getting ONE day off on a weekend to go to a concert, how am I gonna book $1000 or more of days off? And what am I gonna do? If it is just replacing my work pay, it's not like I can afford to GO anywhere.
SO...
I am looking for a second job so I can pay off my car and other loans. My sister works at a Hospital on Switchboard and she says the Hospital closest to my home is hiring part time. At $15/hr. And I KNOW I can do the job. So, I am going to apply there. If my boss freaks out (he does that alot), another part of the Health District is ALSO hiring part time, and I can apply at the Community Centre. Between the 2 (which are willing to schedule around each other) I would have full time hours anyway (and a boss that does not freak out).
If it turns out the Hospital does NOT hire me, I just got offered a part time job by a co-worker who is also an office manager for a small Law Firm that is slowly growing.
It's just over $10 an hour and only weekday mornings (which would dovetail neatly w/ my current job). So, as a primary job it's be bad, but as a second job it could work. The question is, can I do it? I'd be answering phones and helping with paperwork, etc... and possibly getting on-the-job-training as a paralegal, once the Law Firm is big enough. I am a bit weirded out by this - never even considered working for a Law Firm, scared I will be unable to do it. All that legalise just makes my brain turn to mush. But it it works out...

Well, this is pretty much whatever comes to mind, so expect incoherency.
