Chapter 4

"Hello my love, I have brought you these roses to reflect a fraction of your beauty," boastfully said Vincent.

"Thank you, you are such a caring and thoughtful man," as she stared at him with rain and tears rolling down her face and her dress drenched.

"What happened to you?"

"I got caught in the rain, thats all"

"I shall call for a towel than"

"No I am fine; please I wish to be alone for the moment to change"

"Alright, as you wish my love" and with a swift kiss on her cheek Vincent left the room shutting the door softly.

As soon as the door shut Sidney broke down in tears. Not only from the trauma she had already suffered, but to the fact that this man loved her so but she knew she did not love him back from her heart. This man was the one who would flaunt his look, but now he had given up his old ways just for her. Sidney felt touched by this and started to grow more affectionate towards the person he really was on the inside, but she felt that her growing affection towards him was desperation, loneliness, and spite.

Sidney walked across the tile floor and to the closet door. She opened the door and entered while stripping off her wet dress and grabbing a towel cloth to dry herself off with. She stood in the closet and looked at the clothes that flooded her with the memories of Andre and a past that can never become a future. The dresses and gowns reminded her of dances, dates, and dinners that she and Andre attended. She simply grabbed a gown that she had not yet worn in her entire life. The wedding dress she was due to wear in a mere matter of 11 days.

Sidney slid the dress on and stared at her reflection in a mirror hanging on the nearby wall of the closet. The sight of this beautiful dress on her with her wet hair and red eyes made her depressed. Although she never thought the day she dawned this dress, Andre was going to be no where near her which made her sadder than anything. She let out a sigh and a small tear as the turned away from the mirror and walked out of the closet and into the room.

As Sidney walked into the room, a young beautiful woman entered that was 27 years old. She had long flowing brown hair, 55" in height, one hundred and ten pounds in weight, beautiful brown eyes that matched her hair, and a very sweet voice of a singer. Sidney looked to her most favorite servant and smiled.

"Good morning Lindsey," smiled Sidney.

"I am doing just wonderful Ms. Sidney, and I might say you look beautiful in that dress," replied Sidney

"Oh thank you Sidney you are too kind"

"I speak nothing but the truth Ms. Sidney"

As Lindsey would work cleaning up the water trail Sidney had made she would hum to herself. It sounded like a symphony of beautiful angels singing. Sidney would simply listen in envy of her beautiful voice. Sidney had taken some singing lessons as a child but, she was in awe how this common girl had such a talented voice.

"Lindsey, how did you manage to have such a beautiful voice," asked Sidney quizzically.

"I cannot really say. I have had this talent since before I could remember," replied Lindsey.

Sidney simply nodded her head as she walked over to the window sill and starred across the mountain range where Andre resided. As Lindseys beautiful voice calmed her soul, she simply slipped away into a deep sleep, where her troubles could not reach her fragile heart anymore.
