Blog/Future Vlog/Vegan/Art Thing
I run a blog/page about veganism in my community and paste my entries here for Gaia
Random Blog: Dreams, Gardein, My Future
I have a few different things that I'm just in the mood to ramble about today, so I have no clear message to convey. I just feel like babbling!

As I type this I'm drinking "Multi-Green" organic Kombucha. It's delicious! I don't know what it is about this stuff, but I find myself craving it and enjoying it more and more every time I drink it. Next on the list is ginger root. It still smells terrible, but I love that healthy stuff.

I actually just got home from doing a bit of grocery shopping. I have so many bags of frozen veggies in my freezer that I need to start cooking and eating, but I just can't! When I first went vegan, I kind of relied heavily on stir fry from these frozen veggies, because I didn't know what else to cook at the time. So now, I have so many more ideas and options available so I'm just kind of burnt out on it. Tonight I'm going to make cauliflower buffalo wings, which I've provided the recipe for in an earlier post.

But while I was there, I found some new Gardein products! See, that's the problem with grocery shopping. I went into the store with no Gardein on my list, telling myself I'll eat the frozen veggies. But then, as if by fate, a friend messages me saying that Gardein's mandarin orange "chicken" is to die for. So I had to pick up some of that. And then I found two new things! If they're not new products, then my store has just recently started stocking them: vegan pepperoni pizza pockets, and sweet and sour pork bites. What!? I'm going to eat like I'm 16 again!

I also got a few more baking necessities because my dream last night told me to bake some tasty desserts for my coworkers. My employers at the painting studio have given me an entire week off for my birthday, so I'm going to repay them with some of my best vegan desserts: the classic chocolate chip cookies with walnuts, pumpkin pecan scones (have I shared this recipe? If not I will!) and the famous snickerdoodles.

But I want to talk about this dream, because it was hilarious. I do keep a dream journal to encourage my mind to remember details, and I'm so glad I remember this one. It started out in a panic: I had a class to teach, and I was extremely late. It was 12:30 at night and there was a whole room full of people waiting for me! I was stressed but trying to keep my cool and be funny while we prepared. At the beginning of every class we have to get everyone's paint pallets ready, but halfway through this task the dream changed. I was no longer teaching a painting, I was teaching them to bake! My assisted was whisking together the dry ingredients; when she was done, I tried to mix the dry and wet ingredients in our paint cups and stir it with a paint brush. It was a frantic mess. I kept running behind our bar looking for my spice rack, but it wasn't to be found.

So, naturally, I woke up with the idea to bake for my coworkers. Therefore I'm pretty thankful for that funny dream.

The only other thing I really need to add to this post is that I'm finally back in the swing of creating art. You might recall I mentioned I was in a bit of a slump, but that seems to be over. Lately I've been creating portraits on my iPad through meaningless ink scribbles. Breathing life into a portrait through seemingly random and creative ink marks is so relaxing and fun! I can't wait to finally purchase a laptop so I can actually share photos of my paintings and desserts. One day. I'm going to leave it here - buffalo cauliflower takes about an hour to prepare, and I'm getting hungry! Have a great week, everyone.
