Eric Morecambe's sequel to The reluctant vampire - see entry from a few days ago.
Okay.
Have only just started this one.
Like The reluctant vampire it's an ILL.
Belongs to Waverly library.
Classic books... children's novels.
Whatever.
Illustrated once again by Tony Ross.
His drawings are sometimes just so funny that I have to laugh.
They're not 'pretty'.
But they're good - scribbley, brilliant facial expressions, exagerated action etc.
It's pretty good so far.
In the small village of Katchem-by-
the-Throat, in the tiny country of
Gotcha, a fierce storm was raging.
The jagged lightning struck one of
the statues in the park - and out
crawled someone very stiff and dusty
indeed!
Vernon's neck creaked in agony as he
peered down at himself. His evening
dress wasn't in too bad a state, but his
top hat was badly squashed. An evil
smile flickered painfully over his
bloodless lips. "Watcha, Gotcha, I'm
here to getcha!"
Vernon hadn't forgotten how, three
years ago, he had been brutally
forced to turn himself into stone,
instead of into King of the Vampires.
Now he was out to seek terrible
revenge.
