That is what I'm officially calling this year.

First, the only key we had to our front door broke, so from April onwards, someone had to stay home at all times. Then, the water heater's pilot light won't stay lit, so no more hot water. No, that's not a big enough deal for my mother to replace it right away.

Oh oh, but then, the air conditioner in the front room decides it's not going to come on anymore, and when finally getting someone to check it out, we find out that it might be the breaker, since our house is so old and all. So every night I've been online, it's been in a hot room, with only one fan to be shared between three of us.

Sometime in June, the washer and the pipes decide that they too will join in in the rebellion. So the washer, which was already messed up to the point that the knob had to be manually moved for it to go to the next part of the cycle, now refuses to fill with water on its own. We have had to rig it with a piece of hose, connected to the sink. The pipes in the shower stall send the water directly to the shower head, and it has become second nature to step out of the way of the water when washing hands. (The sink in the bathroom has long, LONG been messed up.)

Along with these things, the kitchen light no longer will come on. I'm pretty sure I'm still forgetting something, but anyways. The reason given to me, for these problems not being fixed? They(the Regional Planning Committee, the people responsible for rebuilding homes to be hurricane proof down here) might tear down our house. The worst part about that is, they've already told us that if they do, the house won't be nearly as big as the one we live in now. Every time I think about this whole thing, I get so annoyed.
