These last few days, phew! I've just been going and going!
So, back to Saturday, I went to my grandma's 80th birthday party, which wasn't bad. My family is pretty neat. Talked to my grandma, discussed summer job options with my relatives, ate food, and quietly had some inappropriate discussions with my little brothers around some old people. The usual.
Sunday my family had planned to go to the casino, so I went with. We stopped at my brother's first to check out his new house and then went on our way. Played Bingo and slots. They had one machine where there was a joystick in the middle and the bonus set off a game where you had to steer and collect coins, which I kicked a** at! But I still left with less money than I started with. But it was all in good fun. I also hung out at the arcade with my younger siblings and my brother's girlfriend, which was fun. Since my youngest sister is still too young to actually gamble, I hung out with her and stayed in the room with her more so she wouldn't be bored. Even got some ice cream.
We spent the night and the next day my mom and I got a chance at some extra cash because the casino does something at the end of the month if you have a birthday in March. Gambled a little more. Got a free buffet (another birthday feature). Then we headed back to town for the eye exam I mentioned scheduling. Got my eyes checked and ordered some glasses and prescription sunglasses which should be getting mailed to my place soon. Hopefully they're there when I get back, because I'm sick of these old glasses. I'm used to them now, so I see fine, but now it's going to be a weird jump in prescriptions. No me gusta. After that we shopped a little, got my mom to buy a dress (which is a feat, trust me!), and went home.
Yesterday I had a day with Gabby. She picked me up and we went to a Japanese restaurant. We tried sake, which was not my favorite, and sushi, although we cheated and didn't get any raw ones. We each also got these big ol' Bento boxes that we could not finish, but they were so good and I enjoyed the variety (fried rice, a meat dish [I got chicken and vegetable tempura], california roll, and honeydew)! That is going to be my new go-to food! Then we went back to her place. She gave me some blond highlights because she's awesome! Then we got some liquor and food. We (mostly she) made cupcakes, jello shots, crab and cream cheese wontons, and a steak dish with au jus. We always end up drinking and making food when we're together XD I liked all of it, but I think Gabby was a little disappointed, especially with the wontons. But I still thought it was a good time! We watched some of an anime called Kenichi (which I plan to keep watching when I get home) and drank a lot, I especially liked the Smirnoff mixed drinks she was making and taking shots of my Rumchata (tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch! If you're of age, go out and buy it! If you aren't of age, eat a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and PRETEND)!
But I'm back at my parents' now. Not for long, though! I promised Hollie I'd go out to eat with her, because it has been so long since I've seen her! We'll see how that goes, though. Because she brings her boyfriend with her everywhere (I swear, I don't think they've ever heard of "me" time) and she usually brings some of their shared friends along, all of them either being the hicks from high school (not that that's bad, but all they talk about are tractors and snowmobiles and other s**t I don't care about) or other people from the surrounding area that I just don't know. It's awkward. But I'm still excited to see her. So I'm off for that now, because I told her I'd be there soon!
