This was definitely a first world problem, he decided.

Staring up at the darkened ceiling, the blunette counted the seconds between each hum from the purr of the engine room next door. He'd originally picked this bedroom so he could monitor if anything went wrong because wasn't that a great idea? Years later and he found it to be a nuisance because Cian found it hard to sleep in complete silence now. As the heartbeat of the airship draped a sense of security over the pilot, he closed his eyes and winced as visions of angry women glared at him.

It was getting hard to sleep because even in his dreams they were demanding answers he felt unable to give. They were adults so society expected that if he took an interest in someone sexually, er romantically, that he would limit his flirtations to one person. He'd gotten a reputation in Luca as a womanizer and seen how badly that screwed over his game after a few months. Cian did not want to endure the same kind of icy treatment in his home for the rest of this journey.

Problem was, how was he to pick? They were all intriguing in their own way.

Kylina had caught his attention right away with her long hair and curves. Her legs stood tall and proud, firm with muscle and power. He couldn't tell if she liked feminine attire or not, since she hit him for asking her to wear a dress but got offended when he looked shocked to see her in one later. The confusion appeared to be the game they played, though, and it was interesting to see her dance around and pretend to she didn't like him.

It was obvious she could keep up with him and wasn't afraid to voice her opinions. He liked strong women even though he found the floozies easier to bring to bed. The warrior had a noble sense about her that forced him to confront the hard things about himself. This was difficult to be around all of the time but necessary, Cian supposed. If you didn't improve yourself in a relationship, you weren't doing it right.

Admitting his flaws made him feel defensive and fights would follow each confrontation, both of them too stubborn to have a peaceful discussion. The tension between them was exciting and even though infuriating at the time, he liked that they both were passionate people. Their battles fit the description of love being like war.

Their teamwork on the field was incredible as well. It'd taken time for him to remember her moves, the stances she shifted through to swing her blade, but now they were a well trained pair. Kylina would race ahead to rush the enemy while he trailed behind, looking for a blind spot to capitalize on. The swirls of her golden ponytail added to the chaos of their opponent's confusion but he loved the visual cue of momentum it provided, as well as the reassurance she was still there in case he needed help.

It was easier to turn to Taika for everyday things, however.

The gun mage always acted happy to see him even on her bad days, which was encouraging. Her smile was comforting and friendly and her personality warm and playful. Cian found her the easiest to tease by jokingly sneaking in her room to steal her journal, though he'd learned by now it was more of a sketchbook. He rarely succeeded and loved the reprimanding look she'd give him before showing him the latest object she'd drawn. He did get curious what she was refusing to show him on the days she turned bright red and hid the book in her desk, though.

There was something refreshing about the way Taika let her emotions show; the way she pouted her lips at every point against the Beasts or missed stroke with her pencil. A slight pain flickered in her eyes at the mention of family, followed by a bright determination seconds later. He didn't know her story or understand her fascination with being attacked by creatures. He did know he'd be there to cut them off once she threw a thumb's up and gave the all clear to jump in.

Cian liked to think she was comfortable showing her fingers again because of him.

It was frustrating to know he was competing with his best friend for her smiles. The man had noticed Syvilt's interest in the girl and wondered what they would do if one didn't back off eventually. He hated losing girls but wanted to lose a friend even less. Conflicted, the man let out a heavy breath as he worried about a complicated future.

Storm colored eyes clouded his thoughts and he wondered if he was doomed to remain a nuisance in her head forever. Just the mention of the word complicated and she was the first image that popped into his. Did she ever think of him when not being forced to clean up one of his messes? Ash was harder to read and impossible to confront.

Her words were sharp and she was in a state of unrelenting irritation. Something bad had happened to her, obviously, and her outlook would be tinted for life. The white mage didn't want his pity nor to be watched as tragic entertainment. Truthfully, he got the feeling all she wanted was to be left alone. Like hell he'd let that happen.

Eric originally recruited her because of the glyph on her face (he was still sorry for the insensitive remark that one time!) but Cian tried to befriend her out of guilt once it was clear Ashlynn did not like her new situation. It had been rough for her to adjust to the blotch on her head and now she had been forced on an adventure without a choice. He hoped she no longer resented them. Last week he'd witnessed a rare quiet smirk after Naomi zapped Aaron and Cian had been surprised at how cute it'd been.

Whatever had hurt her and made her deem the world untrustworthy must've been awful. The type of person to raise to a challenge, the samurai'd taken it upon himself to show her people weren't so horrible and change her the way Kylina was changing him. Of course, this confused their relationship in his head and the man still had yet to see proof it was working.

Golden eyes opened once more as her scowl combined with the others and he realized he was sweating again. Sitting up and discarding his wet shirt on the floor, the man found irony that his temperature rose at the thought of three different girls while living on a ship called the Triple Point.

It was clear he still had no idea who he wanted most and was going to look forward to many more restless nights and a whole of of laundry.
