"When did you get here?"

"A few minutes ago, why?"

"No, when did we get like this?"

Her legs tangled in the ivory hotel sheets as if to reflect her frustration. It was hard to make out the expression on her face as the lights in the room were already off. He knew better than to turn them back on now. It was 2 AM and they were supposed to be sleeping.

"Like what?"

Her body jerked in irritation at his question, knowing he was teasing her again. That b*****d never liked having a serious conversation about this. Playing dumb meant he could stall until he came up with a line good enough to tide her over until tomorrow.

"You know what I mean." The words were quiet but stern. She was not in a joking mood right now. She had a headache from being unable to sleep and hated how strong his cologne smelled right now. Shifting to hug one of the flimsy pillows to her chest, the young woman took comfort from the feeling of something pressed up against her. She didn't sleep with stuffed animals anymore, and had even scoffed when a boy had tried to give her one last year, but it was hard for her to fall asleep with nothing in her arms.

That was why she'd started sleeping with a different kind of animal.

"Like this, you mean?" His hand traced down from her waist to right above her hips. He liked the way her body curved there. Sue him for being a typical male but he found the exaggerated shapes of her body to be quite interesting. She was like a story, an adventure he had yet to finish exploring. The hard part was mapping her out.

"Yeah, that." The normally boisterous woman mumbled childishly. She liked the size of his hands and the way he was unafraid to reach forward and take what he wanted. There was no hesitation between them, they knew what they were both here for. Still, she couldn't help but wonder how they'd come to this arrangement. She didn't remember coming to any agreement.

As usual, he let the conversation die there, uninterested in continuing. The man talked for a living, asking millions of questions and searching for the perfect words to commit to paper- he did not like doing it in his private life. This was his escape, his time to relax and use actions to express his desires and needs.

The truth was he did not want to commit to a label yet.

If the reporter had asked, he would've found out neither did she. Bananda did not want to become his girlfriend, she was okay with being someone to lay next to at night. Just like how he was content to be her backup teddy bear. The real reason she asked these questions was out of fear that they weren't on the same page. The blonde did not want them to grow too attached to their current relationship, she just wanted to enjoy it until someone better came along.

"Did anyone see you?"

"Does it matter? They've probably noticed by now, dear."

He liked using pet names for her. The terms of endearment were his way of playfully showing affection and not meant to be anymore than a verbal kiss on the cheek. The light streaming in from the blinds did not illuminate the scowl on her face, showing her displeasure. Tikhon was a fan of old film noir stuff so she knew where he got this kind of cheesy stuff but that didn't mean she liked it. Dear was what her father called her mom before they shut the door to their bedroom. She didn't want to be anyone's dear.

The red head shifted to pull her closer with a chuckle. She didn't need to see his face to know he was smiling.

"Why, are you ashamed of me?" Leaning forward, the boy pressed into a kiss, playing the part of a run down lover.

"Pff, are you kidding? You'd be marrying up to my parents." The two of them laughed, knowing they both came from nothing. Just because they came from nowhere didn't mean they were going to stay there, though. No, the two of them had plans, they were going to reach their dreams using whatever they had to to do so. The three of them, Karteley included, were going into a world where competition was fierce but by sticking together they were sure to get in. Entertainment was not an industry easy to break into, neither was news, but with support from each other they knew they'd make it.

After they finished saving the world, that is.

A knock above the headboard sounded from the side of the wall, reminding them that they were not back in Tik's dorm room. Damien's sense of hearing was heightened by his racial advantage and they were being too loud for him, apparently. The red head doubted he could make out what they were whispering to each other but the buzzing sound of their voices was most likely annoying him. He laughed as Bananda knocked back teasingly, causing the lycanthrope to growl and knock again. Despite the intense danger this journey had pushed them in, somehow the beach blonde always managed to make the trip feel like a safe school vacation.

"Stop before he knocks on the door!" Reaching up, the boy grabbed her wrist and pushed her down before they pissed off the sleepy wolf. Her hazel eyes twinkled up at him and he knew what was coming next. Tanned arms wrapped around his torso, pulling them chest to chest.

"I'm sorry. Is it bedtime, then?" Her lips weren't painted right now but somehow managed to be naturally a fruity pink. As she whispered in his ear, the boy stroked her golden mane and glanced at the clock. If they finished in twenty minutes, they'd be able to get five hours of sleep before Lori made her rounds and woke everyone up.

They'd better get busy then, he supposed with a smirk.
