"I thought you hated Moron-na kids."

"Yeah, are you really blowing us off again for them?"

Two girls stood before her with perfect hair, perfect teeth, and perfect everything. A month ago, she would've fit right in with them and laughed. Somehow things didn't feel all quite right, however. Blue eyes did not meet their gaze, conflicted at what to say. She could try lying and tell them that she had forgotten about a doctor's appointment but the girl got the feeling they wouldn't believe her.

'I told them we should've gone someplace across town. What a mess.' Ever since Lorelei had agreed to go out to dinner with her new friends, the lavender girl had begun to get a lot of accusations of being a hypocrite. It wasn't even her fault! If her Symphoni friends knew she was doing this to protect the world from another Jelorent invasion they would understand this was simply something she had to do!

Yeah right. If it had been one of them instead of her, she probably would've continued to give them crap too.

"Looks like she is. Let's just go." The pink haired princess rolled her eyes and turned to leave.

"I'll be there tomorrow. I just need to take care of something today." The ballerina called after them. It was vague and sounded kind of half-assed but the girl felt the need to say something at least. She was kind of the leader of the Bouquet and probably needed to start being more attentive to them again. Agh, why did her schedule have to be so packed and frustrating?

"Are we now ready to make our departure?" The voiced frightened her as Lori had forgotten that Ferro had been standing by. The boy did not look irritated by the hold up, which relieved her, but he did not seem particularly happy either. It was hard to decide what his expressionless face meant and she often found herself questioning if he was just bored or not paying attention.

"Should I repeat the question or do you still require time?"

"No, I'm sorry. Let's go." Perhaps he simply didn't care about the details and had other things on his mind. Climbing into the back of the car, the two rode the limousine in silence. It was comfortable, one of her favorite parts of the day. The commute to see the other weaponian wielders served as a chance for her to collect her thoughts and calm down from the gossip wars she involved herself in at school. Ferro did not seem to mind the quiet and always watched the traffic out the window, his neck craned in the same way with his eyes scanning the people outside.

He paid great attention to the ways they stood and the ways they laughed that she once asked if he was checking someone out. The boy had blinked and looked puzzled for a moment before looking at her like it was the most obvious thing in the world before returning his gaze to the blur of colors outside.

"It's just interesting to watch."

A self centered person, she hadn't understood the fascination until a few days later when she'd decided to watch him. It was only then that the girl had noticed the way he always got in the car first so she wouldn't have to slide over, and the way he crossed his legs to keep his lanky limbs contained to the space of his seat and the way he... didn't have very many friends.

The silver haired boy was not unpleasant to talk with, nor intimidating, so it took Lori a few days to figure out why.

He simply didn't feel the need to make them. Ferro was more than content to be on his own, tinkering with some object and learning how it worked. At first she'd thought he didn't want any friends but then decided that it didn't seem that way. The boy must've just given up on finding anyone willing to accept that he didn't like it when you got too close to him. The hotel heir did not like being touched and distanced himself upon close inspection. That was a question she still didn't have an answer for but she hoped that one day he'd tell her.

"We've arrived."

Startled out of her thoughts, the lavender girl looked up to nod and was surprised to find the mysterious boy was already outside waiting for her. Embarrassed at her space out, the girl thanked him as he opened the car door to help her out. Ferro was somehow always one step ahead of everyone like that. She hoped that maybe she could be the one to watch his back in return.

With that, the two of them went inside to meet the others. Then they rode back home and bid each other goodbye until tomorrow.

A fairly simple story. Seems quite nice! Horray for friendship!
