Genie in a Bottle
Make a Wish...
1. Never tell a dijnn {genie} your name 2. Find out their full name 3. Never ever make a third wish
It may be your last Dijnn Mirage Tu La paced restlessly hovering between realms keeping an eye out for any humans. It had taken a long time to get her very own artifact which is of course extremely important since having your own artifact made it easier to get humans to summon a dijnn, dijnn being the proper name for her race and not genie, and being summoned was only ever half the battle. The first wish was always easy, the second meant the human owed her and the third... well a human should never make a third wish because then the dijnn owned the human. Mirage knew humans got a great deal of facts wrong when it came to her race for one, humans thought "genies" lived in bottles and lamps but that was not even close to the truth. In the begining of time dijnn and humans had lived together in the same realm it was not until a great evil came from the darkness that her race was forced into a seperate realm on the fringe of the human one. Now in order to interact with humans they needed to be summoned by a human which is next to impossible with out the human knowing the dijnn's name, which is bad. Names have power. Or having an artifact which is always good since it is a physical tie to the human realm. Mirage had had to pull alot of strings in order to get her own artifact and she needed to find a human soon or she would be the laughing stock of her whole family. her artifact just happened to be one of the most beautiful ones she had ever seen. An intricately etched metal cased fan its panel was made of heavily embroidered silk decorated with lovely scenes of dijnn granting wishes and magic, it suited her perfectly. She was just about to give up for the day and leave when suddenly she sensed humans near by turning her attention back to her artifact she smiled waiting hoping the human would choose her artifact. Human Grace followed her brother into the strange temple knowing they should not be there but unable to resist the temptation. Their father was an archeologist who had helped to unearth the temple technically no one was allowed inside but her brother loved a good adventure and Grace loved a challenge. It was sort of dark in the place but there was just enough light for her to see a strange assortment of items all on display. Her brother seemed drawn to a fan in the corner of the room she frowned wondering why he was so interesting in such a clearly femine thing but quickly dismissed it as an onyx box caught her eye. It was the kind of black that absorbed the light and dark scenes of something she could not quiet see carved into the sides. Stepping closer she scanned the carvings frowning in puzzlement at the scenes she had begun to make out. A man kneeling before a beautiful god like creature as if in supplication, on the next panel the man was happily throwing money in the air, next the man was embracing a woman who looked unhappy with the god like creature in the back ground holding a new born child, on the last panel the man was standing before a head stone with the god like creature in the back ground a chain bound the man to the god like creature. The scenes held no meaning for Grace but they gave her a horrible chill none the less. With out thinking she reached out and grabbed the box opening it to see what was inside and strangely relieved to find nothing inside. Releasing the breath she had not realized she had been holding, Gace, closed the box and moved to put it back when movement caught her eyeand she turned in shock to see what could only be described as one of the god like creatures depicted on the box. Desperatly she searched for her brother but he had his back turned his attention fixed on something else. "What is your name?" the creature asked her. ((If you want to reply as Grace's brother, the human that summons Mirage, or as Grace's dijnn then please pm me. Thanks for reading.))
