I close my eyes and dream in shades of darkness
my nightmares leer in shades of light
bright and burning, revealing life's unmovable harshness
the darkness sooths my plight
waking now to the pale white sun
its caressing light amid the cool stars
begging now for a day I may be done
for a day when all is healed, even my scars
the world may shun me from its sight
but life is my own and my right
let nothing dwell in shadows of my heart
that may sour my soul or rend me apart
for too long I have felt on and alone
too long I have struggled to mend
to atone
to bend, bend, bend
until I break
in this world I seek to give, to share
when all others do nothing but take
life isn't fair, never fair, anything but fair
and still we hide behind masks to mask that we are fake
a course bore, a heartless rake
blood beats, beats in my viens
struggling to live, pushing past mortal pains
so yes I take but in this world it is hard not to
so yes I am fake but no one wants the real me
beat me, beat me , until I am black and blue
it won't make life any easier for you
my agony is mine and so is my releif
dry your eyes, your hopes your fears
