I've dreamt before.

I dreamed of love and life and a future.

But as is destiny with all dreams, I had to wake.

Each time I ended a dream I cried.

Nothing lasted and nothing tasted as sweet once gone.

Sometimes I'd forget the dreams, leave them behind.

But then another came along and it began again.

And then you held me close.

I tried and tried to wake.

Turns out you were never a dream.

You were so real it burned my skin.

I always hoped I'd meet a real dream.

Little did I know it was never the dreams I was after.
