It's sort of a tradition between my mother and myself to go to the midnight candlelight service at our church on Christmas eve. Once we dragged my brother along, but only once. Anyhow, I absolutely love this service. (I think it has something to do with the fact that I am actually allowed around fire, but that's not the point.)
This year, there were more people there than I had ever seen in the church before. It was kind of amazing, though I don't think that the little children should have been allowed candles. That was a bit scary. We basically did communion, sang a bunch of songs, and then lit the candles. Apparently some hot wax dripped onto my fingers, but I didn't notice until after I blew the candle out and sat back down. ("Hey, there's wax on my fingers! Excellent, I wondered why they were sticking together..." wink After which, we left... Or at least attempted to leave.
It's official: The scariest thing in the world is the church parking lot at midnight, especially right after communion.
I'm not entirely sure that the grape juice was what they claimed it was. ninja It took a long time to get out of that parking lot...
After which, Mom and I decided we were hungry and had a midnight snack consisting of various leftovers. It was yummy. 3nodding
