English author Hazel Townson.
A short but well written story of two children affected by the deaths of their fathers - which is ultimately linked to a third childs father.
It's told in all by three people (the third person was in the wrong place at the wrong time...) and it's realistic.
The ending was a tiny bit predictable (well, it seemed obvious to me) and also surprising.
I wouldn't mind seeing if Ms Townson writes another book with the characters that she brought to life Shots in the dark.
Oh yeah, Tony Ross (British also) did the cover.
Nice, although I prefer his black and white artwork a bit more than his colour.
Danny and Georgia both lose a father
suddenly in the same dramatic incident. Each
bereavement leads to great disruption in
their families. When the pair run into each
other in the hospital they each realise that
here is the one person who can understand and
help with the anger and frustration. They then turn
their joint attention to the drug dealer responsible for
all the chaos. But Danny and Georgia gradually
realise that the drug dealer's son, in their school,
is having an even worse time than they are. In
face of this, can they exact a true revenge
for their loses? And how will they
feel if they do?
Today, nay, this week has been draaaaging on.
I want it to be next week : with the kitten bigger and my games to have come.
Yep, I'm still waitin'. stare
