Rain, rain, go away~! Come and write another day~!
My ramblings, reasons for nothing, what I want to do, and whatever love-child my fingertips and the keyboard create. In other words, comment or die, b***h.
In a Moment
I was in the car, taking a sip of my drink, when this idominable little thing popped into my head. Names will be said, yes, but I have no idea how it will turn out, really, so you'll just have to wait and see. Also, Dictionary.com is screwing me over, so spelling errors will just have to wait.

Aya knows who this girl is, maybe Zeke knows as well, but meh, Kaede and Kaichou drabbles ahead!

In a Moment

Synopsis: She could have seen his entire life in a moment, if she had searched for him. But, life is difficult to keep track of, and his was no different.

---

In memory of a lonely childhood, and the person who made it seem just a little bit better.

" Ka.... Inu....gone....Kae...de?"

Slowly, she put the phone down with her small, childish hands, eyes dull and blank, not sure what to make of the conversation she'd just heard. She was just five years old, she wasn't supposed to understand such things.

She always remembered his smile, the one thing about him that never quite faded away. His bright eyes, his dark hair, but, most of all, that brilliant, beautiful smile.

She remembered the smile, alright, but she never quite understood why it went away.

To her, there had always been something about him that made him so much better than herself. She'd never been jealous, she simply thought that was how things were, that he'd always be better than her; always stronger, smarter, and bigger.

It was like when Mother went away.

Still, there wasn't anything keeping her from wishing that he'd come back as well.

---

Present times leave us with things trying to sort themselves out. It doesn't always work that way, however.

Her fingers worked their way over the gun, feeling the cool metal and seeming to mold to her own shape; a perfect fit. And yet, she knew that they would never quite be 'perfect', just seeming that way.

She didn't smile. It wasn't that she was cold to the world, that she hated everything about it.

She simply didn't care. There was nothing for her to care for, and she simply couldn't bring herself to sympathize with anyone anymore.

Her eyes, half closed or half open, it didn't matter, regarded the rising tension in the room. They swept over the occupants lazily, until they fell on one person in particular.

Her mouth opened slightly, leaving a small space of silence between them.

Then, she spoke, lifting the gun slowly to his direction. It was a low sound, but heard throughout the entire room.

" Good-bye, Father."

---

Wht happens in the future is up to you. Whether you hold on to the will to survive... who knows?

She had seen his eyes, and his hair. Even his face. But something had been missing, something...

Eyes wide open, and he turns, before...

...And there it was.

That smile. That same wonderful, brilliant smile that lit up the whole of her childhood.

Yet, somehow, she thought she was supposed to have been... happy. She didn't feel any obvious emotion swelling up within her, drifting from the depths of the soul she'd lost

He'd looked surprised, of course. Brown eyes looked over her, shock evident within their gaze, passing over her dark hair, wild and short as always. Black half opened eyes met his own, and, in lapse of temporary amnesia, she asked.

" Who are you?"

Because she wasn't quite sure if this was the same person she known almost twenty years before, a young boy the age of seven, playing with a little girl two years younger, loving her, watching over her, taking care of her.

She stopped, watching the sunlight filter through the window. It was amazing, simply amazing at how much he'd changed; a handsome young man, just in the prime of his adulthood, and yet, she...

" You really haven't changed at all, have you?"

He'd sounded almost... sad. Sad at how much she'd missed out in life, how many years had gone by with her missing, even though he'd been the one who'd left.

It was funny in that, because, even after leaving the conscious world for over ten years, she'd still remember that smile, even in a comatose state, trapped in a world of computerized hell. Trapped behind a screen, looking in from the outside, but never being able to enter it.

But, she'd needed only a moment to remember all of this, and, for him, a moment was all he needed to get away and disappear from her life once again.

It was better that way, that they didn't meet again.

" Kaichou?"

----

My, that was...strange, even for me. As a trick for you guys, I'll do a little explanation of the ficlet.

The Girl: Her name is Kaede, and she was trapped by her father in a comatose state. In reality, while her body was being tested on, she was trapped inside a computer for ten years. She was fifteen when it happened, and after she got her body back, her cells had stopped deteriorating completely, leaving her with no emotions and body that would never die of natural causes.

The Boy: His name is... well, he's called Kaichou now. Maybe later I'll reveal why he left, but it wasn't of his own choice. What's his connection to Kaede-san? It's obvious, but I'll never tell, mwahahaha....

Kaichou: Kaichou means 'captain'. Kaichou is an important figure within the pegs of a company unknown.

And that's all I'll say for now. Aya's probably the only one who will understand any of this...@_@;;
