As many know, I have been the curator for footprints charity. I've had this baby probably since may 23, 2004. None of the original staffers are even around anymore. Well, the one girl is around gaia, and i send her pm's to say "wassup" and stuff... She just doesn't have the time it takes to dedicate to a newbie charity. One guy left after a week... then some newbies we helped joined our team and stayed on until we ended up needing to move to yet our third thread... so we are in our third thread these days... collectively, if we had stayed in one thread the entire time.. it would be about 2k pages long. but, our first page at 1500 pages got archived a while back during archiving madness of which many threads were victims.
well, my research department director had to leave. What that title means is when people apply for help, they get put on a waiting list while she does some background checks on them. Background checks can include recent post history tracking. we see what they've been doing with their time. Why? because we're here to help newbies NOT MULES! AND NOT ALT ACCOUNTS EITHER FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT MULES ARE. sweatdrop and, yes, we actually do seem to get a consistent wave of those. they come in just like the other newbies. however, in three days they'll put on a jacked up item from 03 or ahve fairy wings.. just stuff no newb with under 200 posts who is brand new to the site would have. most newbies are just finding out that stuff exists. another thing that alerts us to possible mules is from their post history. If the first thing they do right off the bat is charity forum, possible mule right there. Occassionally, we have smart newbies who explore and figure out which forums hold what.. but, you get a lot of newbies in welcome to gaia or chatterbox who need direction. and then they get sent here. In fact, my friend's charity gets a lot of people saying that they wish they had known these places were open when she was new cuz she had no idea.
Well, froggy decided to move on, so she has departed from the world of gaia indefinitely. The likely hood is she won't come back... it's sad, but it does happen. As much as i hated to see her go, I really just have to wish her the best and hope maybe our paths will cross again one day.
Well, so now i have a thread... and a waiting list i cannot edit. so now i am left with a few choices. Do i make another thread? Maybe I should move the charity inside a ggn guild where it would be more "moddable"? but, if i did that... what would be a good active guild to set that up in? we want it somewhere that really caters to the newbies. but then comes the issue also that i need more staff. Seriously, I mean i could do it on my own. but the honest to goodness truth is that I am just tooo mad lazy! confused That is the most awful thing, I know... sweatdrop But ya know.. i'm a mom, and i work full time.. and i got creditors breathing down my neck. I help run a rp guild.. then I'm in a breedables rp guild which has much higher standards for writing and such.. and, i used to be really good with writing like that years ago.. but I am not often too good at it nowadays. So.. I am really trying to learn from the others. I don't know. I think that is the good thing about being in college or school. Whenever you're in school or freshly out of it, you retain your ability to write as in a way to make academic professors love you.. even if you're not writing it for school. sadly, i'm realizing i'm loosing this ability. I have considered if could afford it. I'd like to take a short story class or some kind of creative writng course at a nearby community college.
digressing.. yeah. so what else do i do on gaia? got one polling guild. actually, i had quit several guilds a few weeks back trying to destress my time on gaia. i am in four christian guilds now it is. One i'm a mod in. I might step down from that. In fact, I'll probably become mostly one of the types who visits from time to time.
This other guy has a guild too. and i joined it to support him. but his mostly seems like a showcase for information for christians such as study guides.. media info etc. and the study guides i don't really need to much cuz that stuff i know already. the media is interesting sometimes. i didn't know about the philly 5 until i was browsing there one day. but, then this other girl started a new guild. She is really nice and has a great attitude so i'm gonna go help her.
so anyways... thing is... so many things i do.. so little time. so, yeah. i do get lazy about diong everything myself in teh charity. and so i say i need/want help, is that really so bad?
Well, with my thread being in a slighty inactive state... I have been checking in on my friend Yumi chan's charity. the free items for worthy females. Most of the other workers have been busy with real life and unable to monitor the thread. I've been in there posting the reminder and posting comments of them not posting profiles. I was so happy yesterday when i saw bacardii show up out of nowhere. yeah! i missed her so much. she is such a really nice person! heart She had started writing this fan fic in her journal.. lol. rofl It's so great. if you know Bacardii, read her journal. it is incomplete cuz she is in the process of transplanting her life.. and so also, anyone who prays reading this, please say a prayer for her and her daughter. That the Lord would just really bless her with a job she will enjoy and help them to get on their feet so she can come back to gaia and stuffs.. heart
not much else to tell right now. i have been testing irth online a bit more. but somehow my client is glitched and all my toons walk they are all bound and tied up... and it's really annoying cuz it takes forever just to get from cemetary back into town... grr.. mad just happened a few days ago. i might wait for the next patch or update.
