I wanted to update this morning and last night but the journals were down.
ok. at TRU, every summer i have ran our store's camp geoffrey which is a small summer program of varying activities for the kids while they are out of school. This isn't a time of just free giveaways. the idea is to offer the kids a neat activity.. and we just happen to give out a few giveaways while supplies last.. and people just trip me out so much.. cuz i know several parents walk by... see some people get somethign for free... and immediately they want to participate. they don't give a flying crap what htey work on. they'll sit for five seconds then act like they are in a hurry... stare
geez.. i mean.. this is for their children! This isn't just a chance for mom and dad to get something for free... they all do it... but sometimes certain groups i see tend to do it more.. tho i will leave specifics out... ninja anyways....
this past saturday was close to being a nightmare. sweatdrop Ok. We were decorating Home Depot bird houses. they sent us one box of 50 birdhouses... by the end i had 74 kids...... and after the 50 were gone; they pulled HD model kits from the shelves. then they pulled more stuff out of imaginarium. at the end, the stuff we pulled totalled close to $140 .... well, obviously my manager said after that.. no more. cuz it was getting way too expensive and our stores aren't slotted monies to cover unexpected stuff like this. well... it was sooo crazy... and we provide markers and crayons for htem to use which are provided to us by crayola as a sort of... "promotional" thing.. so that our store only uses crayola stuff for activities. Well, near the end, some parents came up.. picked up one marker and asked me if they could have it... i told them i'm not at liberty to allow people to do that because we need our materials for future events. This is true. but i mean.. if you want markers for your kids... some dollar stores sell 24 packs of markers for a buck.. or even, our boxes of 8 washable crayola markers are like... 4.99 tops... so go spend $5 on your kid and just get them markers. keep them in a safe place. is that so bad? geez... for a while i was getting stressed out.. and then it wasn't even from the parents at the activity.. it was just we kept running out of stuff for them to do.. in the end of it; i ended up still turning away between 15-20 kids even tho by the schedule the activity still had a half hour. i felt so bad.
after work, my sis picks me up and we head on over to my aunt and uncle's house. One of their daughters swung into town for a day and two nights with her little baby girl... [15 mos]. I haven't seen her since a little over a year ago. It was cool. We played cancellation hearts.
ok then today, i gave foxproGT his father's day gift.. which was a cd walkman that reads mp3 cdr's/cdrw's... i think he likes it. i was nervous he might not at first.. but while i was wrapping naaman's presents.. i saw him playing with it and realized it ended up being an ok gift for something like father's day. so yeah for that. then we had a late brunch at this local restaurant we like. they make good eggs and good french toast .. ^^
later we went to target, and then i went next door to this party shop. got naaman a bunch of balloons.. i kind of went overboard with them; but i figure.. he's my only child.. and will only be five once! so.. i splurged and got him a ten dollar balloon of a number 5. got antoehr smaller round thomas the train balloon and three small plain jumbo balloons... very fun! looking at them made me feel excited. so... then we headed over to my mom's. The food was great. my sister sarace from gaia made my son's bday cake! mm... total yumminess! 4laugh we played cancellation hearts again. but, my cousin and her bf had to head back to PA. so instead of them two, we got my sister sarace and my grandma and my uncle brian. it was pretty fun. me and sarace managed to feed certain people both queen of spades two hands in a row. same person ate them both in both hands.. wooo...
if you dont' know: cancellation hearts is very similar to regular hearts; but it is played with two decks. and when two palyers throw out exact same card, they cancell each other out. it's awesome.. because in normal hearts where aces and kings sack you with ugly cards.... cancellations can save your skin... i didn't win.. but i didn't lose exactly. i was in teh middle ground. same as last night... won some, lose some. i still had a good time.
oh yeah. so we had naaman's party today at my mom's.. went really nice. my mom got him the take along roundhouse that comes with thomas. and annie and clarabel which are thomas' coaches he was rewarded with for being a really useful engine. mrgreen and from foxpro he got additional tracks and some cars to go with engines.. cuz i bought him five engines and lots of balloons. whee heart and then my brother gave him $5, my sis bought him a gift pack of cars and semi trucks last night. and my grand parents gave him $10.. which according to my mom is a pretty big deal cuz they are having some financial hardships.. so wow to that one... he did so well today interacting with people. one of my aunts was cutting the watermelon up [yeah. just like in anime.. it's just not summer or a bbq without watermelon, right?] and he was watching her. I was like.. you want some watermelon. so he said watermelon. i told him to tell aunt cathy please. he said please and watermelon..lol. 4laugh he ran all over their yard for hours. the other day i wasn't sure if he had a good time at the mall. today, i'm positive he had a great time and wore his little self out!!! 3nodding xd
yep. so... we got home a little late. let him open up his thomas the tank engine stuff... he played about a whole ten minutes then crawled into bed. i'll have to bath him tomorrow cuz he got all filthy. finally got him some sandals. i need to make a todo list of all my stuff i need to do this summer. Like:
1. get him a vision screening
2. sign him up for half day of kindergarten/half preschool and find a school doing both
3. i still need to mail away for my birth certificate. i got the money order on my dresser. just need to get a manila envelope. sweatdrop procrastinator.. i am one and horrible...
4. he needs a yearly physical which means i might need to take him for some blood work.
5. need to get myself to secretary of state and ask if they'll let me swap my expired drivers permit for a new one because i had lost it.. but i found it finally... so i can practice driving again. i really need to overcome that fear from my life...
so that's it for now i guess... i'll post tomorrow probably.
