Yah.
Finally got Ring by Koji Suzuki.
Haven't started it yet though.

The body of a young girl is found at her home in
Yokohama, contorted in fear, but the cause of her death
is a mystery. Soon afterwards the bodies of three more
teenagers are discovered - dead in chillingly
similair circumstances.

Sensing a story, journalist Asakawa becomes fixated
on unravelling the cause of this bizarre sudden-death
syndrome. He discovers that the four victims had shared
a log cabin for one night, exactly seven days
before their deaths.

In the cabin, Asakawa finds a nightmarish secret -
a curious videotape which plays not a movie, but a
strange collection of abstract, subliminal images,
concluding wiht a portentous message:

'Those who have viewed these images are fated to die at
this exact hour one week from now. If you do not wish to
die, you must follow these instructions exactly...'

Then the tape cuts to static.

It is soooo cold today.
Wind isn't helping!
Walking to the bus this morning was interesting - frost on the ground.
Bigbird almost had an accident last night.
A kangaroo jumped in front of the car.
This morning she sent me a message saying that the poor thing had been hit by a car and was lying dead next to the road. sad
Am getting worried about working next Tuesday night.
What if (not saying) is going to come into the library.
What will be said, or will everything go on as normal?
Even worse than saying hurtful things would be to be ignored.
Right.
Stop thinking about it!
A borrower just returned a book called Army of roses : inside the world of Palestinian women suicide bombers by Barbara Victor.
She said that certain pages were defaced.
eg. a paragraph was circled - "...recite passages from the Koran that glorify martyrdom..." and what some ahem person wrote - "KILL THE WHOLE GODDAMN PALESTINIAN RACE SINCE THEY LOVE MARTYRDOM SO MUCH"
I won't go into other things written in the book as it's even worse.
It's just disgusting.
How can someone write that?
Or even think it!!!? scream
How would this so called human being react if they were living in the same conditions as these people?
I'm not saying that suicide bombers are right - it's not the answer.
But I don't believe that genocide or murder is the way to go.
Therefore I am ashamed that one of our borrowers would write that in a library book, shoving their hateful opinions down other peoples throats...
I deleted the book. It was too badly defaced to do anything to mend. mad
Ooooh.
I got a call from Kinokuniya to say that Legal drug 3 has come in for me!
All for me!
I can't wait for Thursday to come around! whee
Which reminds me, am going out to Newtown to see some guy called Andrew Morris on Thursday night with Jozilla, Darth Vader and one of Jozilla's uni mates.
