ok sue me, animecon2005 was last weekend, but been to busy with stuff i forgot to post in in a journal...


we started to meet at Amsterdam Central Station about 10:30.
I was quite amazed how much people ACTUALLY came on-time.
normally with meeting they always come in late, and were then ussually waiting for an hour till were sorta complete.
This time Akitsuki didnt forgot her ticket.
Last year she did, and we have been reminding her about it.

i finaly got the time to give 2NI her birthday gift. sweatdrop
her birthday was in januari and i couldnt find any good gift then, somewhere in march i found one, and when we tried to hold another meeting things came up with my ussual fun-breaker ( work ) so i still couldnt give it to her.
I gave her a white Mokona Modoku, the white bunny like pork bunn ( as kurogane from Tsubasa-chronos chronicle stated it perfectly).
everyone was quite pleased with the gift, several wished they got that one too..

it was quite an ordeal to get to the hotel, cause we had to reservated rooms in a different hotel.
the hotel where the convention was held was sold out within 12 hours when they announced where animcon was held crying .
time they perfectly managed to get a pendelbus.

one things still amazed me, how many people i know and how many know me, especially the ones who know me.
i sometimes thinking "Who the F... is she/he??" while i smile and act as if i know them.

the dealerroom was bigger than last year.
luckily i went shopping on friday, cause saturday was indeed almost impossible.
on saturday the waiting line was about atleast 2 hours!!!!!!!!
i went for goodies, cause i know i can get the manga's and DVD's i want anyway.
I got myself a kewl naruto ninja headprotector.
i really want the sound ninja one, but they didnt have that one.
the did have the ones from the sand, mist and leaf.
i choose the the one itachi has, the leaf with a scar on it.
they also had those gloves, but those were only one size, and with my large hand i hardly could get my pinky in..
further more, i bought some dutch doujins, not that i care that much about the art and stuff.
but more as a way to support manga and anime in Holland.
We got the smallest market, almost everything is imported, but luckily the market is growing.

the amount of anime that they showed was also a great selection.
im not gonna post it, cause thats more then 50 titles!
i couldnt see all of them, but i enjoyed the one i could see..

the game room was also alot more fun this year.
This year there was less need for the otaku-spray ( deodorant ).
there were loads of games to play:
like Pop 'n Music, DDR, donkey konga, naruto, soul caliber, and some other fun games.
the silliest was a boxing game, forgot the name.
its were you were gauntlets and then you go boxing against fighters in the game.
it was a fun experience but the calibration sucked, and my fighting skills were too fast for the machine to full register.

one of the best events was the karaoke stand.
it started around 23:00 on saturday.
First no one wanted to sing as first, but luckily idiots like me give them the courage to join the fun.
with certain songs it wasnt clear who was singing, the audience or the one with the mic.
if it was up to us, we would have gone till atleast 7:00 AM, but they stopped at 4:00 AM.

but the best was defantly the cosplay act.
They had about 24 acts and about 52 people participaiting.
there would have been more, but they have to stop somewhere..
the one who got the most applause was our gopher Thomas ( gopher is the name for a staff member ), even the acts together couldnt come near the amount applause he got.

some even wanted him to win the award for sexiest cosplayer, not quite under deserved xd
They acts were really good this year..
best costume went to a Malice mizer act.
sexiest act went to the other malize mizer act.
best dance act went to 2 girls cosplaying as FF characters, playing ParaPara ( a dancing game )
best performance single went to Trigun+gungrave
best performance group went to "Miss Final Fantasy"

when the day was over, we were indeed really poofed.
in total the avarage amount of sleep a con visitor had, was about 7-8 hours.
luckily i had 2 bottle of sake and a case of pocky to get me through the con.

they already asked me if i wanted to come to the next convention Abunai!, which is 9-11 sept. and has ancient japan as theme.
i sure hope i can get off from work then.. then i can show off my kewl yakuta.
