Question: One of the mods here (Lust herself) has me on ignore because I picked something he said in Mysteric Realms apart once and he couldn't get me angry by pretending to drain my energy over the internet. How can I fix this so I can reply to his posts and threads? :/
Actual topic, somewhat related: Why does the metaphysics community (not necessarily this guild, it's better than most related guilds) happily put up with fakers? Anyone outside this community is already skeptic enough, and yet here the people that actually know and have studied what they're doing, and are capable of actively doing things, seem to hold up the claims of the people who say they can make things float in the air and see the future in their breakfast cereal? It hurts the credibility of the community as a whole, and these people usually have nothing useful to contribute other than "lol ur doing it wrong this is the rite way." And that's not really useful.
I just don't get it. But I'm not really a part of any organized group, don't follow any set religion or set of rules, and just kind of do things instinctively, so I wouldn't know.
Anyone want to explain this mindset to me?
Disclaimer: I've had two hours of sleep and am currently horribly pissed off at my manager for some s**t he pulled with my schedule. If it's too inflammatory for the guild, go ahead and kill it, but I wouldn't mind having some way to post in Pingu's threads. D:

1) Not a ********' clue, chief. 2) Not a ********' clue, chief.
Seriously though, I've not a clue. I guess it's a sort of play-it-safe mechanism, just in case those people actually /do/ have a clue what they're doing. As far as I've seen the sensible folks's bullshit-compasses seem to be so finely tuned that they all avoid the fakers, although what you're saying seems to suggest otherwise, which I haven't really seen (except in, like, PsycheLapis's case, who's all for inclusiveness, and thus just *loves* treating anyone who can say "magic" like an innerplane adept).

Apparently the password is magick.
I dunno, I feel silly referring to it as anything but "metaphysics."
What's sad is, I -don't- have a clue what I'm doing. I know the basic idea, and I know what I want to happen, and somehow it does.
No process, just... I'm either horribly lucky or horribly good. I'd go with the first. D:

Don't worry, he/she has done the same to me because I made fun of juggalos. neutral Even tried to ban me from the guild because of it.

You may well believe there are fairies inside, controlled by a magic wand that, when one of the buttons is pressed, makes the fairies do something. Now, it may not be true, but the TV certainly acts as if it was.

For some reason (mostly due to the sever lack of enthusiasm and books at my house) I try to do things the best way I can. And if I don't have the, er, exact instructions... well, wing it? Oddly enough it works, and if it doesn't I just ask for help online. Deviatin from the point though -- although I'm no expert in anything (hell, I'm hardly a novice), it is nice to think that there's no set way of doing something. Except if it's going to, you know, create some sort of toxic gas because you messed up what chemicals to mix or something. o_O

I say we request LH to un-ignore you both so this can stop interfering with guild activity.
If it were solely up to me to handle the "fakers", they'd be gone, for good, pretty damn fast lol.

Refer to threads from before those locked ones where me and Kuru quit. We'd pick apart arguments and just generally point out every reason why what they said could not logically be true.
But they all complained to Lapis, and people like us started getting banned to promote the harmony of the community.
Many lulz.
