Personality: Nimmie is an outgoing sort, protective of the Soquili that fall under her care, and their familiars. She loves to make new friends and tries to help others feel comfortable around her too.
History: Nimmie grew up in a land over the mountains where the Soquili do not exist, and grew up feeling like something was missing in her life. What she doesn't know is she was found in a basket in the mountains similar to those that protect the foals, the reason why no one ever found out. Though she was treated with love, Nimmie knew this wasn't where she belonged and so when she reached the age of 14, she left what had become her home to seek a new one.
It was a hard journey, but with her resourceful nature, she came through it well, though still having even less of an idea of what she was to do or where she belonged. That was when she met another indian and met the Soquili under her care (She was originally RP'd with Talencia, hence this reference to her and her Soq) and for once felt the true tinglings that stirred her spirit and told her this is where she belonged. After leaving the girl, Nimmie sought out the nearest village to learn more about her people. The fact that she couldn't find any information about her parents didn't worry, having found where she belonged at last, finally making her home in a nearby forest by a river where she could watch the sunset. Perhaps she'd find a Soquili of her own to care for eventually.... |

Personality: Blake is a romantic by nature, always wanting others to feel they're worth spending time with, always meaning the best and occasionally going a bit overboard without meaning to which can get himself in trouble. Since his accident, there's many things he doesn't understand anymore about his own culture as a Soquili, and so tends to be slightly clueless about what he's doing, which leads to him feeling insecure though he tries not to show it.
History: One one journey through the woods that encompassed her home, Nimmie came upon a basket that was being guarded by a mountain lion. She feared at first that the creature was going to eat the helpless infant inside, and tried to trap it so she could rescue the basket...however the lion was very wily as well, and never fell for what she did. She began to discover the lion wasn't seeking to eat the foal, but protecting it, and so she changed tactics and worked at gaining it's trust. She knew something had to have happened to it's parents or she'd of seen them by now to take the basket away, but day after day there was nothing, and so her concern grew that the foal was going to die soon without some real nourishment since a lion could only do so much.
Oreo finally relented and let her take the basket one day, realizing the same thing that Nimmie had that Blake was not going to survive if he didn't come under the two legger's care. The poor thing was becoming skinnier and moving less, and nearly on the verge of death...something had to be done soon. So, she followed Nimmie, who was very concerned at how light the basket was, and took her place at the teepee's entrance...she didn't quite trust the two-legger yet, but she would be sure no one harmed her or the foal.
Nimmie worked tiredlessly to feed Blake and get his strenght back up, having to force feed him in the beginging till he was strong enough to do so on his own. Blake recovered quickly and a few months later was strong enough to finally emerge from his basket home into that of the bigger world. He and Nimmie were inseperable, and Oreo finally gave into her more stubborn nature and accepted the two-legger fully as well...what else could she do? She'd saved her charge's life after all.
Blake grew quickly, exploring farther and farther away from the teepee, always coming home with Oreo at his heels...yet one day he disappeared, and Oreo was the only one to return. Nimmie cried thinking that perhaps he'd died, and so she went off in search of him, following his tracks, but found nothing...what had happened to him? Oreo seemed as clueless and lost as she was...
They did eventually find Blake after he'd fallen in love with Chepi, but when they approached him when he was alone, he didn't seem to recognize them at all. After regaining his trust, Nimmie discovered the wound on his head that was covered by his mane, and came to realize the truth that he had amnesia.
Oreo, on the other hand, found out the truth long before of the story. Blake didn't remember what happened to him, just that the first Soquili he met had been a kalona whom Oreo had seen before on her adventures with him. The kalona, seeing that he was alone, decided to play with his mind and convinced Blake he'd once been a lion (he knew of Oreo, after all), and after sufficiently playing with what was left of his mind, disappeared.
Blake, to this moment, still doesn't remember what happened to him, and thanks to his fuzzy memories of his protector, can't help but wonder if the kalona was right and that he was a lion. His first moments on meeting Oreo once more was to ask if she was his sister....after all, they looked alike. The amnesia is irreversible, but he hopes one day to at least discover the truth of his past. |

Personality: He's very sweet, and quite a bit clueless and niave by nature. He's very curious, tending to get himself in trouble alot....really he's best described as a colt who never truly grew up.
History: He was born in a large herd of Soquili in which his family and Daveigh's family resided. Born at nearly the same time, they became fast friends and have always been inseperable as they explored. However, there was one day that Yukio became seperated not only form the herd but his best friend as a colt and began to panic in fear. A two-legger found him and with gentle songs and movements, quickly not only calmed him, but distracted him from his situation. By the time his mother found him, he was playing with Nimmie as if nothing was wrong.
Since then, he used to sneak away for awhile just to see her, but when he grew the visits stopped....he had other things on his mind: the fact that he wanted to start his own family with Daveigh. Deciding it was best that they start their now life on their own, they left their families and promised to visit often. After much searching, they came across a willow tree while in the middle of storm, which provided them shelter from the storm's fury. It was under it's boughs that Daviegh finally broke the news that she was pregnant and his new life as a father was to begin.... |
