There is something about the way the moon looked as one walked down a lonely pathway in the valley that makes a girl feel so...special.

Right? Yeah, special was a good word for it, for it summed up the emotions running through a 'special' mare as she did just that. Moonlite were always romatic, as her Grandpop and mother put it lightely, but she never was able to feel that way...for she never walked with anyone before. Not that it mattered all that much, but company every once in a while wasn't going to kill her, was it?

Nah, it couldn't. Company wasn't always a lover, or an enemy. Company could just be two strangers walking in the same direction, or even friends. She had none of those...'real' friends. Sure she had a bunch of invisible ones, but what good would that do her on nights like this?

Not much, that's for sure.

Purple eyes gazed up to the shinning moon, as her black hooves tore into the ground with each step. Maybe Rainbow Sherbert wasn't meant to have...company, be it whatever it was, maybe she was doomed to walk this...path by herself. Metaphorically speaking, of course, since at this hour, no one seemed to be passing through.

Maybe, maybe not. She had just to keep walking...just keep walking.

"George, go away!" She hissed into dead silence, her 'invisible friend' apparently following close behind. "I told you, I don't want to be seen with you on a night like this!"

Of course, she knew better to believe she'd actually be seen with him...but it was still nice to give the guy some hope that he wasn't just a made up creature...

Up ahead on the path that Rainbow was walking stood a stallion looking up at the moon, studying it's face, the white of his coat almost seeming to glow. He turned his head to study the stars, looking around and seeing the different constellations his mom had taught him, finally seeing something he'd been looking for...

A shooting star!

He closed his eyes and made his fondest wish that he could find someone to walk life's path with together. Someone who him for him and not his clumsy nature and not walk off laughing their butts off. He couldn't help who he was, could he?

He was smart, funny, sweet, loyal...but all everyone ever saw was him face-planting into the ground, into a tree and or even falling in rivers. It seemed no matter how hard he tried to hold his head high, make a good impression, it never lasted more than a few seconds. Maybe...

Maybe if he just stood here something would happen? Dad always did say, too, if one believed hard enough upon a wish, something good would always happen. Might not come true, but you might get something close that still made it all worth it.

Well, it was worth a shot....

She had not known that someone was out there, looking up at the same moon at the same time as her. In her mind, she was still alone. But had she known of the stallion, it would have pleased her. Someone out there, at this hour even, doing the same thing she was doing...it would be utterly comforting.

But alas, she was alone still...but only in a sense. There were million upon million stars in the night sky, guiding her way to wherever they wanted her to go....and she'd go.

Just as her purple eyes gazed up at the stars, a bright one passed by her quicker than she could comprehend was it was. A shooting star! Dang, it was too fast, and now it was too late to make a wish. Ah well, someone had to catch it...and hopefully someone's wish was coming true...whatever it may be.

"Aww, poo...guess there will be no star-wishing for Bertie tonight, George." The mare turned her head to talk to her 'friend', having no idea that as she walked, she got closer and closer to an actual stallion.

Kama’s gaze was still locked upon the sky, never actually realizing anyone much less a mare, was getting closer and closer so when she spoke she startled him back to reality. He stared at her for a moment in complete shock that someone could just basically appear out of nowhere, specially just after he’d made a wish…maybe that was it? Maybe some cosmic god who’d done nothing but laugh at him since his birth was actually deciding to have pity on him and throw something good his way? Well…only way to find out.

He started to open his mouth when he realized she was talking to someone named George. Aaah…so she was taken after all. So much for actually having a carrot thrown his way for once in his life. Licking his lips, he said, “I’m sure there’ll be other stars too…I’m sorry, I hope I’m not interrupting something.” He cast his eyes about for this ‘George’ she spoke of, but grew confused to see no stallion, mare or even familiar within sight. Turning his gaze back to her, he was struck by how similar their markers where, though in different colors. She was really rather pretty in the moonlight…

Bertie was just as shocked to see the stallion, as he was of her.
How long had it been since another had graced their presence among her? Far too long for her liking, at least. Plumb based eyes gazed their way from the sky, and back in front of her, in which then did she spot the stallion.

Ha! So she wasn't going to be alone after all! At least not for tonight! And such a handsome white, strong looking stallion he was! If only he'd talk...

Ah! There he goes! But...what? Oh dear! Did he hear her say George? Or did he just hear her speak out loud? Bertie silently wished it to be the latter. "Thank you, I appreciate the sentiment." She giggled loudly, wondering when the next time a shooting star would fly by.

"And no, you're not. George is just..." Hmm...how to phrase this? How to make it seem like she had sanity within her, at least in front of this stallion on this night? "...a spirit that follows me around. He's gone now though, he doesn't like others."

There. Still somewhat...bordering crazy and ridiculous, but much, MUCH better than...an imaginary friend.
