I was just wondering... in the game when Cloud puts Aeris in the water after she dies, Cloud walks and when he drops her she keeps floating down and down....
then in Advent Children Kadaj (sp?) and the kids walk into the water but its like their standing there... how deep is that water? I always found it funny that Aeris keeps floating down and down while everyone else is just standing the water....
any one have an answer for that?

Final Fantasy logic.

On a more serious note, either the creators didn't think about it or that pool of water has a hole in the center of it that leads to a small cavern space underneath the initial pool of water, which it can be presumed Aeris fell into.

Otherwise there's no real explanation for it.

maybe the lake was shallower when Kadaj and the kids were in it, but I'm just guessing it was a mistake on Square Enix's part...

I think it is actually swallow the way it was in AC but Since Aeris was laying down it just seemed that deep.

Ahhh, it was all dramatisized

As much as I love Aeris and FF7, that scene HAD to put fantasy in it, or else it would be sad in the sense that you feel sorry for Cloud even trying rather than sad that the final cetra of the world has passed.
Through common science, you learn that a body is buoyant when dead and would have floated to the top of the water unless Cloud put some kinds of weights in Aeris's clothing.
So, the body sinks, and why? Because it is Final FANTASY, they had to put some fantasy elements into the movie to make that scene dramatic. It, just think of it, if he put her in a frickin puddle, would you be sad? Seeing her body sinking down that deep wouldn't be so sad, now would it?

Although, correct me if I'm wrong... Was she really dropped down in the church? Is there really a hole of water in her church, or wasn't she dropped at the City of Ancients? Guy who ever beat the game here...

But, before I ramble on... In the great words of Dread Lycan,

"When you put real life logic into a fantasy RPG, God kills a cat girl."

Please, please save the cat girls... They don't ask for much except to be loved...

I know why: Because Cloud dropped Aerith into a pool in the City of the Ancients, the lifeforce accepted her and pulled her in. Or it's the magical magic of video games (which are majick).

As for the kids...they embody the spirit of Jesus? confused

Hmmm... maybe is because in the zone are many lakes... and in the one that areis where down... its the bigger and depper of all... and in A.C. Kadaj (rules) and the kids where in other one...

Maybe... I said maybe...

The same reason Clouds phone fell down and kept on falling in AC.

It was in a deeper end, probably a split hole that lead to an underwater cavern.

In Advent children there are huge pillars of chrystal all around the lake or whatever you wan't to call it, in to game there are only a few. I always thought that the lake was drying up as the ground in Advent children kind of resembles a dried up salt bed. But its just my opinion and as everyone else pretty much said, its Final FANTASY ;P.
