Tony and Lilith have moved to this thread. -----Just After the Raid----- Lilith! Tony's dragon whispered out as he ran, not sure who might here his searching mind-speak. They're coming! Find me if you can! If he had to keep his dragon half here too long, he could get mighty hungry. A few of the raiders headed back to Lilith, waiting for them in the woods. All in all, they probably had too many horses ready. ----- Original post: ----- The dragon had let his quarry go, concerned as he was for her health, and for her slowing him down. His own queries of her had yielded little beyond what he could have guessed about the counter-raid forces, and if the woman would not tell a dragon with charismatic influence, then she would be of no more use to them. Normally he would have switched back with Tony, but with his back paw injured, that meant that Tony would be hobbling around on one leg; he'd risk his size to keep along on three legs as he headed south, essentially parallel to Lilith. The woods began to thin out, and the dragon was able to insert his considerable, full grown bulk somewhat within their protection by the time that day dawned. He felt quite exposed, and was wishing that he could switch when his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of somewhat approaching from the west. It would take a bit for the man to reach him, so the dragon hunkered down facing that direction, sitting on his rump to take all of the weight off of his injured back leg and, with any luck, to hide the injury as well.

Eska dashed into the woods at full pelt as a hail of arrows fell short behind him. His pursuers seemed to have given up, and the man breathed a sigh of relief as he scanned the dark forests before him for any sign of life. With shock they lay upon a figure in the distance, instantly recognising the dragon that had aided the attack.
He approached slowly, limping now that he wasn't in danger. His weapons seemed heavier, no suprise, he was completely exhausted. Sheathing his blade he stepped into the clearing. "Maybe there is hope for these people afterall." He stated, showing little of it for himself. He slumped to the ground staring at the two of them in silence, setting his battered shield down beside him.

Lilith stood next to the dragon, frowning at his hind leg like she could see something that Eska couldn't. But once Eska had come up, she turned to him, and immediately recognizing him as one of their raiding party, forced a smile.
"You survived," she congratulated him warmly, "but you are limping. Have you twisted something, or been shot?"
The dragon swayed his head to the side, his noise sniffing away from them like a wolf harried by its own pack. He didn't seem much interested in the two humans at the moment. All Eska knew about the dragon was that it had appeared during the raid and aided them, and even given commands, but he knew not how. The raiding party had been briefed in a scrimp manner on the idea that most men do not believe in or are afraid of giant lizards with wings.

"Just a scratch." Eska replied with little care, disregarding his injury quickly. "It's nothing I can't handle." The wound was small, but still bleeding, however due to his hardy nature Eska was sure to be fine. Sighing he stared up into the dark skies, "That didn't exactly go according to plan." he stated in a dissapointed tone. "I'd never had thought we would run." Shrugging he lay back, resting in the long grass.
A weak breeze passed causing his ragged clothes to sway limply and disturbing him from his rest. "Maybe we should move on, for all we know they could have already sent out scouts searching for any stragglers." Grunting he forced himself to his feet once more, taking his shield from it's place on the ground and gazing back through the thick undergrowth.

"Yes," Lilith agreed morosely, "but you are not the only one injured, and this one is quite big." She gestured towards the large, shimmering copper scales beside her.
The dragon swung his head back around, his mouth hinged loosely open as his nose came level with Lilith's face. Decide, human. Can you carry a full-grown injured man, or shall I stay as I am and risk our being spotted?
"Switching forms is tiring for you?" Lilith checked, although she guessed the answer.
The dragon snorted. "Yes." He swung his head towards Eska. "YOU decide, then."

Eska frowned for a moment at the dragon before sighing loudly. "If I must carry you then I shall, I only hope you aren't too heavy." Slinging his shield across his back, Eska knelt down, ready to lift as soon as the creature returned to it's human form.
His eyes darted back swiftly into the darkness of the forest and in the distance he saw a faint light, scowling but revealing nothing to the others yet. If they were worried it would only cause more trouble than it was worth. "Come on let's hurry..." He mumbled, letting nothing on.

The dragon let out a sigh, one of relief. In an instant he was human, complete with freckles, red hair, and blinking brown eyes. Tony sat on the ground where the dragon's haunches had been. The sight was not nearly as impressive, Tony being a medium-sized man sporting a grey sweater. Tony began to stand up on his good leg.
"Wait!" Lilith begged, suddenly seeming more worried. "He needs to be bandaged better than that."
Tony shrugged, seemingly unmindful of his cut off pant leg, the extra cloth tied around his ankle. "Don't make me more useless to you, by holding you up more," he asked in a quiet tone.

Mælily yawned as she watched the two raiders and the dragon with interest. The Kiyap Turean spy was sitting on a tree branch, her back leaning against the trunk, underneath the shadows of the leaves. Craze had given her the mission of spying on the raid and the teen had done just so, but now instead of speeding back to the tribe as fast as she could she decided she would stick around with the dragon. She had never seen a dragon in real life before, the only dragons she had ever seen were in pictures and personally she thought that the pictures sucked when compared to a real dragon. Also there was a chance something interesting might happen while the raiders traveled through the plains, maybe she could add something to spice up her report with. Her past few mission had been super boring, spy on this stupid thing there, spy on that stupid thing here, pointless missions that barely held the spy's interest. The yawned again and looked down at the group again, she had started to space out, and almost fell off her perch on the tree. The dragon was gone, in place of the large reptilian creature was a scruffy man. Mælily grinned from ear to ear, her older friends had said that dragons and certain humans could switch places like that, but she didn't believe them. Yes, the spy thought to herself, it is going to be very interesting following this group. She giggled quietly to herself and continued watching the raiders, ready to hop up and follow them as they left.

Disregarding Liliths remarks, Eska grabbed tony, lifting him with his muscled and scared arms, grunting as he did so, it was unusual to be carrying someone who just seconds ago was a mighty dragon, especially when in his human form he didn't look up to much. Eska was uncomfortable carrying Tony, with both his arms in use he had no room to use a weapon. He shook his head, he was just being paranoid surely, no one would attack them if they got moving now.
Stumbling slightly at first before hurriedly getting the hang of it, Knight began to walk with Tony in his arms, his leg was stinging, but as usual he let nothing on, forcing himself onwards as he took one last look behind through the dense undergrowth of the dim and dreary place.

Lilith unhappily assumed position in front of the two men, leading them away from Feretris lands, but she kept glancing back at Tony, or over Eska's shoulder. She also had the feeling that they were being followed. Like most people, she did not think to look up.
After a bit of walking, Tony suggested, "I could walk, you know, for a bit."
"Nonsense. I have a horse here somewhere," Lilith answered quickly. "Another half and hour," she promised, "and if all is well, we will be there."

Eska decided not to protest against her decision, it meant more work for him, but if he had to keep this 'dragon' safe then that was what he would do. He leant over to Lilith and whispered quietly "We're being followed you know." with little concern in his voice, almost excited at the prospect of another fight.
His gaurd was up now as he forced himself not to speed up, if he did then whoever was following them would realise that Eska had noticed and that wouldn't lead to anything good. They had to trick Mælily somehow...

Mælily watched the man thoughtfully. He had whispered something to the girl and that in itself was suspicious. The spy kept her attention on him, she could feel the tension building as he tried to keep a normal pace. It was such an easy thing to spot out. People always thought that if they forced themselves to go at a normal pace they could trick the one following them, but those types of tricks only worked on novice spies. For Mælily spotting out the tension made when forcing yourself to do something, like going at a normal pace, was as easy as breathing. She wasn't one of Kiyap Turea's top spies for nothing. An owl took off into the sky from his perch in the next tree Mælily needed to jump to. The short teen took the opportunity to swiftly leap to the other tree. A few leaves came loose from the branch she landed on, but the falling leaves would easily be associated with the owl. Mælily was being more cautious now that her presence was known.

Eska stopped suddenly, setting Tony down slowly without a sound and catching one of the leaves in the palm of his hand. He held it close to his nose and sniffed it a few times before tossing it to the winds and drawing his blade in one smooth movement.
He signalled Lilith to come closer as he took his shield in his left hand, turning backwards and scanning the forest intently with his eyes for the spy, there was no more time for running.

Mælily smirked slightly, not really caring that the guy thought she was a threat. She just found it funny that he smelled the leaf to decide whether or not she was the one that made it fall. People never ceased to amuse the small teen. The spy looked down again and gave a small sigh as she noticed that his blade was out. She did not feel like fighting. Quickly she did a little look over to make sure none of her weapons were visible, but easy to draw just in case. Mælily jumped off her branch and landed lightly behind the three. She pulled her hood back and her two braided pigtails popped out from their confinement of the hood, off duty Mælily was in complete control now. "Hey nows! Hey nows!" The short teen said in a high voice making a 'X' with her arms. "Nosies! I don't mean any harm! This spy doesn't like useless fighting when off duty!" Mælily grinned and her purple eyes shined in the moonlight. She didn't care if she was talking to much or too fast. She just hated questions so it made sense that if she answered everything before asked there would be no questions. "I have never ever seen a real live dragon before! Of course I had to follow the dragon while going home! Don't kill Mælily please!"

Tony grit his teeth together as he was lowered to the ground, but without audible complaint. Lilith stood in front of Tony, to Eska's left*, and to Tony, it seemed to happen very quickly.
And then the girl was in front of them, and talking.
"Please, no more fighting today!" he said, bowling over her mention of him as a dragon. He was more concerned with drawn weapons.
Lilith frowned back at Tony, not sure whom she disagreed with more. As for herself, she had her hand on the hilt of a long knife at her side. "We have no room for your curiosity," she explained curtly to Maelily. They had a priority to get the hell out of dodge. But there was something else that concerned Lilith, for it seemed to her that they should have come across her horse and her companions by now, or at least the horse. Was it possible that she had gotten lost? Her eyes wandered to the grown, wishing that she had learned to track in a forest instead of in a field.
