Dazzling Smile (CHA)Ten is bonded to Sajhiri's adopted Aduthule daughter, Saedare. (See image on right) Fleet Report When Ten gets an idea in his head, it's very hard to shake it, so when he decided to go to Gaia because he perceived the place needed him, there was no way to dissuade him. His motivation for going seems to be charity, an intense desire to help others. He perceives that the Fleet feien, with their comfortable lives, jobs, and ability to pick their bonds, don't need him, whereas the seemingly directionless feien on Gaia who usually stick with their first bonds and do not contribute towards any meaningful society, do. Ten is very much a dedicated social worker on a mission. Ten has no problems whatsoever with the Fleet and may be expecting their support in some of his efforts. (Being a do-it-yourselfer, he hardly feels the need to rely on the Fleet, but having been raised in its socialist system he knows that the Fleet serves its citizens when required.) He has been classed as mild to no security risk and has undergone very light memory scrambling, just in case. He still remembers names and faces of people he has known in the Fleet, things that happened to him in the Fleet, and places he visited and lived. The one change is that he may have these things mixed up to the point where he could be considered unreliable: associating the wrong name with the wrong face, remembering events somewhat out of order, misremembering parties involved in events, not being able to accurately recall how to go from one place to another in the Fleet. This scrambling was voluntary on Ten's part, because as every good Fleet citizen knows, your best protection against the enemy is not knowing enough information to be of use to them. Ten's former bond was Dr. Maxwell Harris, a quiet, somewhat depressed middle-aged man. There was no great friendship between them, but Harris was a good and pleasant bond. Their relationship can be described as that of benevolent roommates more than anythign else. Certainly neither has anything negative to say about the other, and they never fought or argued about anything. But they had different interests and did not run in the same social circles.

Here is Averno as a beautiful Feien bloom! And here she is as a gorgeous adolescent! And here is a quick sketch I did of her one afternoon! And here is a doll I had made in her likeness! And then she grew up into a drop dead gorgeous and leggy adult! The glorious ancient Arae after she recovered from the bonding ritual. The handsome young Ten upon his arrival in Gaia from the Fleet.

Sajhiri: Averno doesn't like her bond very much, except for the simple fact of her occasional usefulness. Sajhiri is a creature of great goodness, and this tempts Averno to try and corrupt or manipulate her for her own personal satisfaction. Arae: Averno doesn't like to share, and the Ancient feien aggravates her, especially when she attempts to play mom. But she's stood by her in a time of need, and she's warming to her sibling. The Menagerie: Averno avoids most of Sajhiri's other companions and pets with the exception of the Cait Siobhan, Maleficent, whom she finds both useful and tolerable. Corvus: Averno's teacher and mentor. She was drawn to his obvious power and knowledge of the Feien and the world of Gaia. She has much she wishes to learn, and he seemed best capable of teaching her, but then he left with no word. Sunil: Averno thought Sunil might be admirable until her conversation with Corvus made her naturally gravitate towards the enhanced and more powerful feien, who could offer her more than Sunil would as a bodyguard. Silva: Although she didn't know his name, Averno had a very antagonistic relationship with Silva. They both seemed to do their utmost to irritate one another, as both seemed too prideful to bend. Then one night they had a snogfest and the world turned upside down. Averno fears she might love him. Calico: A Feien that Averno dreads ever coming into contact with again. He assaulted her in the tavern and only luck and a bit of quick reflex saved her from possible harm. Ruya: Someone Averno saw as definitely useful, as she was an artist and could paint her portrait. She also seemed to be a tool to further irritate Silva. Then she lost her memory and became a child again. Ryuusei: Averno finds the young feien agreeable enough, but more importanly sees her as open to suggestion and easily influenced by statements which sound like they could be correct. Sajhiri: Arae owes Sajhiri her life, as the ancient could no longer sustain herself without a human bond. Arae, like Sajhiri, is a motherly creature full of compassion, and she admires the Seraph greatly.Averno: Arae is rather amused by her rash, angry, and dark sibling in bonds. She finds herself behaving in a motherly fashion towards the hot tempered but charismatic young feien.Aleric: Arae has fallen head over heels in love with this purple ancient.Silva: Dislike with a capital D. She only tolerates him because of Averno.Corvus: Arae quite enjoys the company of King Cervus and likes to share wisdom with him.Coming Soon!

Sajhiri's household is bustling with beings! Here is the current list of occupants. Sajhiri is the head of the household, an earth bound seraph known in the heavens as Sangariel, Guardian of the Portals to Heaven. No one is quite sure what her mission on Gaia is, but she seems to be gathering friends and companions to her in many forms. She holds a mundane job as a Psychologist, as well as running an Aerie for the placement of rare birthstone dragons and gryphons. She is also fey-blooded, a descendent of the blood of King Cervus, leader of the Sun Court of the Silva Regia. She is engaged to Zaine Draconis. Zaine was once a mighty dragon, but is now trapped in human form. He and Sajhiri met while working at *Washu*'s Subspace Saloon, and formed a friendship which turned into love. They are engaged to be married. Head of the Sun Court of Tir Nan Og, this Silva Regia fey is Sajhiri's ancestor. The stag-totem fey is tiny in Gaia, but in the land of the Fey he is tall and impressive with his antlered head. Cervus is pensive and moody, under stress of trying to free the rest of his people from a horrible curse. Head of the Moon Court of Tir Nan Og, this Silva Regia fey is also Sajhiri's ancestor. The night-totem fey rarely ventures to Gaia, as she has been unknowingly manipulating Sajhiri through her darkside for months. Sajhiri herself is wholly unaware of her existence or the bond they share when her dark side is surpressed. One day a little girl showed up out of nowhere to hand over a crimson eyed raven to Sajhiri, telling her that the bird's name was Telenna. Jhiri took her in to tend to her, continually wondering who the strange child was. One of a pair of twin Aduthulë children, Sedare is the essence of patience. She is kind, gentle, intelligent, and loves to read. She dislikes conflict, and always seeks to calm others to end it. She does seem to have a calming effect on those she touches. Sedare's sibling, the essence of anger. Saevire loves to cause trouble and incite anger in others. She is a troublemaker who only seems fully controlled by her sister. She loves attention and hates to read. The Sphinx is as much of an enigma as she sounds. Sajhiri freed her from a talisman she had dug up many years past on an archeological dig, and the riddling felinid has stayed with her since, insisting she was released to serve some undiscovered purpose on Gaia. This little Muadhnait never seems to speak, and it seems though his upper half is dextrous, his lower half is clumsy as all get out. The representive off all that is patriotic, he loves to juggle his sparklers and entertain others. This little Muadhnait is as creepy as creepy can get. Based on the Hellraiser Cenobyte known as "Chatterer", he is blind and doesn't speak, though unlike normal Muads he has a mouth. Maleficent is every bit as diabolical as the dark Fairy for which she was named. Cold, sarcastic, and cruel, she's still to young to reach her full potential as "Mistress of all Evil". Sajhiri's more than a little nervous about the day she becomes an adult. Imbrium is even more mysterious than the Sphinx. A sentient puddle of alien goo, she is apparently telepathic and a sports fan. She absorbs food by dissolving it, and seems disinclined to consume things close to her own consistency. This adorable Talaye pup is the Keeper of the Stars, a celestial Talaye. He is friendly and sweet, though he often pines for the stars by day, when the atmosphere hides them from site. Sajhiri feels quite close to the pup, having Celestial origins herself. This fearsome demonic Lija is rather new to the menagerie, and Sajhiri has yet to learn much about the aquatic creature so resembling her Cait in appearance. The two seem to be plotting at times, and that worries Sajhiri quite a bit. The Lija also seems to have sorcerous tendencies. A strange tarot card was given to Sajhiri by an old woman in a shop one day. It gave her access to the other dimensional space known only as the Playground. Once there for a while, the card released a little girl, the Empress, who is in Sajhiri's care. She cannot yet leave the realm of the Playground, so Averno has not met her. This hunk of ice contains a strange and wonderful creature. Sajhiri is a wee bit clueless about it though, as she waits for the creature within to emerge. This pretty pearl is a Delphic, an aquatic sentient being in it's infant state. Sajhiri is not yet sure what interesting things Catwoman will bring! As a birthday gift, *Washu* presented Sajhiri with a lovely rose bag, which she has since planted. Who knows what will come of it?

07.29.04 - Today, my dear friend Em presented me with the strangest flower I have ever seen. A few months back she'd asked me if I'd be interested in fostering a feien bloom, and perhaps bonding with it's inhabitant when it emereged. Of course I said yes, as the idea of caring for one of those beautiful creatures gave me the giddies! I'd been watching many other Feien and their companions for some time now from a distance, but to be brought into that wonderous group of folks is a real honor!
Oh, back to the bloom...The petals were black as pitch, yet soft and supple, while the center was a cool shade of purple and very prickly-looking. From the center, weblike tendrils were set, flowing and sinuous. It makes me wonder if the Feien within will be the same way...soft and lovely on the outside, but cold and harsh on the inside. I have to admit, the flower's seeming attraction to the coldest, darkest corner of my chambers in the Silva Regia tower seems to lend credence to my thoughts.
Of course, I could be out of my mind...it may just be a nightblooming flower and I might be reading much too much into it's physical appearance. Em has mentioned that the flower's colors are usually the fairy's colors as well, which makes me happy, black and purple are such complimentary shades and quite striking. Just ask Maleficent, my Cait. Or don't...she might claw you for it. Ahem. She does seem to have taken an interest in the flower, though, and seems almost...protective of it? Interesting indeed. I don't want to cross her, so I've taken to placing the bloom our shared her quarters in the Tower, on a secure shelf. It's nice and cool and dark in there, as the Cait insisted on it. Hopefully the bloom will appreciate the surroundings.
Em said it doesn't really need to be planted or the like, but I couldn't bear to place a flower, no matter how magical, on a cold stone shelf and risk mussing the feathers. Instead I've placed it in a vase of purple crystal with lovely carvings in it, and filled the bottom with small black marble spheres to support it. Whether or not it's needed, it certainly looks incredibly lovely in that arrangement.
Cervus came in to take a look at the new addition to what he calls "The Revered Sister's ever-growing menagerie". He scowled at the bloom and declared that it was extremely reminiscent of the Moon Court. Well, that certainly doesn't bode well. I reminded him, however, that the bloom was now part of the family, and King or no King, he'd better treat it well. He begrudgingly agreed then tromped off through the fairy ring to Tir Nan Og.
I'm hoping to show the bloom to Sedare, my gentle Aduthulë child soon, but I'm a bit hesitant to show it to her twin, Saevire. She tends to be a bit destructive of personal property if she thinks it will irritate the owner. I think the bloom will be my and Sedare's little secret for a while.
The Sphinx, my Mythos, has been informed of the new arrival, as has Patria my Muadhnait. Patria has been clearly instructed that under no circumstances are his sparklers allowed near the delicate bloom. I've cordoned off the room to keep my newborn Talaye pup, Caelestis, out of chewing range of the flower, and Imbrium, my puddle of goo (well SHE claims to be something called a Vaeske) didn't seem overly interested in it unless it could play football.
I've already made a note to myself not to bring it to the Aerie. I'm sure the gryphons would enjoy gnawing on it, or one of the dragons might accidently light it on fire. All in all I think I've taken every conceivable precaution outside of natural disasters. As long as no more meteors hit my tower, or Sunshade, Cervus' stallion, doesn't think it looks like lunch, we should be good.
As I've heard it's good to talk to plants, I think I shall be reading to the bloom come tomorrow.

07.30.04 - Last night I took the bloom up to the top of the tower with me when I went to stargaze. I've been a bit wary of the skies since a meteor crashed into the tower a few weeks ago, bearing the puddle of sentient goo I now call "Imbrium". Since the bloom seemed to enjoy the dark, I settled it on a table next to my telescope, and little Caelestis, my Talaye pup, stood vigilent guard over it. He loves the stars too, being Celestial in nature, so the three of us had a nice calm and quiet night of observations.
I'm not sure if the bloom is happy or not, as it's hard to discern the emotional state of plant life, but I hope I'm tending it well. I've been careful to keep it out of excessive light or heat, and away from any of the menagerie which might find it appealing to gnaw on. I still worry though, especially due to the warning nature of King Cervus' words. Cervus is rarely wrong about these things, but this bloom is my responsibility, and I will nurture it no matter it's nature. I've a feeling Cervus will be spending more time in Tir Nan Og and less in the tower if his predictions prove true.
I am thinking of opening up a tavern in the caretaker's cottage near the Suilva Regia tower for the Feien and their caretakers to relax in. Gaia can hold so many dangers for creatures this tiny, it would be nice to give them a place of safety to have fun in. It would take a bit of planning, but I certainly have the materials and manpower for it. I've got plenty of human sized furnishings for the guardians and for the Feien I think Dixie cup stools and cable spool tables should suffice for impromptu furnishings. I have some fabric swatches I can use for tablecloths, and I can thread christmas "fairy lights" wrapped in colored tissue paper through the hole in each spool for a "candle" effect. I've cut down dozens of pen caps into Feien-sized cups. Magnetic bingo chips are perfect plates, colorful, proper size, and with a slightly raised metal edge which makes for both spill prevention and easy cleanup at night with the magnet wand. I managed to find dozens of packages of Barbie doll eating utensils at a local hobby shop as well. I might look into more permanent Barbie furnishings at a later date if my budget is amicable, but that Pink Diva is pricey!
Eyedroppers and tweezers will be essential for distributing beverages and food into the tiny cups and plates. I'm sure the other Feien caretakers will be happy to help me figure out other things to stock and provide for the Feien. I'm excited about meeting the others and getting to know them. I'll be in need of much advice on the care of this bloom and the adolescent that will emerge from it!
I think I'll go clean up the cottage now and start setting up!

08.01.04 - Yesterday I opened up the Tall Tales Tavern in the clearing beside the Silva Regia tower. I converted the old caretaker's cottage as planned, and I am very pleased with the results! I had several Feien guardians and several Feien stop by, including a few who I hired on.
A gentleman named Nerpin has been hired on as a bouncer to handle the human-sized patrons. I also hired Sunil, one of the Feien, to take on the same job for the Feien customers. She seems like a tough one, I'll give her that. They should both do a fine job.
Neruo has been hired as a Feien bartender. He seems to be an incredibly polite little fellow, and I tink he will do well. He's very personable, and that's a big plus for a bartender. His caretaker, LF, has agreed to do some barmaid duties as well as some of the cooking.
We had a visit from a nice lady named Ice as well, who brought in her bloom. It was a lovely red flower, quite pretty.
My bloom has been spending time with me in both the tower and the tavern. I've been sure to keep it in the shadowier corners of the places, away from heat and light, as they seem to be anethema to it. I added some black satin ribbons to the crystal vase it is in, just for decoration. I know, that's probably silly on my part, but I want the Feien to feel welcome, even though at the moment it's a flower.
I'd best go place some orders for supplies for the tavern now, so I'll end this entry here.

Date: 07.30.04 Location: The Tall Tales Tavern (Sajhiri's Tavern) Synopsis: It's Opening day for the tavern, and Sajhiri hires a few folks to work there. Participants: Sajhiri, Lucifer Force (LF), Neruo, Nerpin, Arith, Ice Queen, kamtrouble, Sunil, Neko Girl, and Ares. The Scene: Sajhiri dusted the bartop one last time, setting her black and violet bloom atop it, before she looked around the room with an analytical gaze. "Well, it looks like we're ready to open for business pretty flower..." she murmured to the bloom in it's crystal vase. The flower, of course, didn't reply.
With a smile she moved to the large wooden door of the cottage-turned-tavern and swung it open, flipping the sign in the window to read "Open". LF carefully opened the door, peeking in. She saw that only one other was there, and decided it safe. She stepped in, waving Neruo inside as well. He floated over to her and landed on her shoulder while she closed the door and walked to the bar. Neruo flew off to see the crystal vase that contained a bloom. He sat down and watched it intently, curiously. LF found a barstool and sat down. "I'm LF." she said, smiling. "I do LOVE your house. I'm so envious of the ship wheels. Where did you find them? I'm not much of a hands-on person myself, so making one of these would be quite the task for me."
She realized how rude she was, and introduced her Feien. She pointed to the bright orange one sitting near the vase. "That's Neruo. He loves to watch Feien blooms. I hope you don't mind." Nerpin strolled into the tavern, dark eyes scanning the clean interior - quietly mussling to himself how well this had come out. Arith had taken to sitting on his shoulder - enjoying the ride and high view. Seeing Sajhiri at the bar, Arith tugged on one of Nerpin's white ears and directed his line of sight. Nodding to himself, he made over to the bar, a paper in hand and a stern, determined look on his face. Sajhiri smiled warmly at LF and Neruo. She set out a human sized glass and a Feien sized one on the bartop. "Nice to meet you, LF. I'm Doctor Sajhiri Jihaar, owner and proprietor of this little tavern. That over there..." She gestured towards the black-petalled bloom, "I don't have a name for yet. I figured it'd be quite rude to call it Bob if it turned out to be a Sally, you know?" The woman wiped her hands on a bar rag. "Can I get you or Neruo something to drink? I'm hoping to get some help in here soon, I put an ad in the papers."
As Nerpin and Arith arrived she raised a hand in greeting. "Welcome to the Tall Tales! What can I get for you sir, and you miss?" He smile was warm and welcoming, her manner jovial and almost motherly in nature. Nerpin gave a soft smile as his ears curved forward when he was addressed by Sajhiri. A wag of the tail, and a nod he took the hand in a firm handshake "I'm known as Nerpin and this" he started, tilting his head to the feien on his shoulder "is Arith, my little feien." he said, pride in his voice. Arith smiled to Sajhiri and gave a little wave as she was introduced, "Pleasure to meet you miss." She stated - showing to be very well brought up. One of Nerpin's canine white (with a black tip) twitched at the meantion of help and nodded, setting his resume on the bar "I was here for that actually. I'm wondering if you have a bouncer spot open. Someone told me I'd be a good person for the job" he finished, with a curt nod. "I know this'll sound kinda cheesy, but...I'd like some milk, if you have any." She couldn't help but blush at her choice of drinks. It was a tavern, yes, but she didn't need any alcohol. Neruo stood up and bowed to Sajhiri.
"I'd just like some water, if you don't mind. And, lovely bloom, by the way. I can't wait to meet the Feien inside." He sat back down and watched the bloom as it rested in the vase. LF waved to Nerpin as he walked inside with Arith. Such a beautiful Feien... Sajhiri beamed at Nerpin's request for employment, and she picked up the resume off the bartop to scan it over. "Wonderful! Everything here looks to be in order, I'm happy to hire you on. When can you start, Mister Nerpin?" She smiled at Arith and inclined her head at the greeting. "A pleasure to meet you Miss Arith. Would either of you like something to drink?"
She chuckled softly at LF's self depracation and shook her head. "Not unusual at all. I keep a full assortment of non-alcoholic beverages on hand, as I'm not much of a drinker myself..." She gestured to her own mug, decidedly filled with coffee. A tall glass of milk was poured for LF and slid in front of her, with a tiny mug of water filled via eyedropper set beside Neruo. She murmured to him, "Neither can I, though some of the residents of my household are a little concerned about the bloom. Something about it being black seems to scream bad omen to a few of them. I just think they're paranoid." Ice walked in, her hand cupped loosely around her red spiky bloom. She looked around, smiling a little at the decor and heading for the bar. There were a few people there, but not enough to make her nervous.
"Hi..." She said, holding up a hand in a half wave. "I'm Ice. And the bloom is Silva." LF couldn't help but squeal happily as she picked up the mug and drank. Milk was her favorite beverage, and thanke Sajhiri silently having it onhand. When she finished, she put the mug down, revealing a well-place milk moustache. She smiled and wiped it off.
"Thanks muchly, Sajhiri! That was great!" Then, her eyes brightened. "Oh yeah! You need help? I'll help. I can cook, if I have instructions, or I can serve drinks and take orders if you like. I'd be happy to help!" Neruo smiled and shook his head. "Just because the bloom is black doesn't mean the Feien will be bad. It's just a color, that's all." He looked up and noticed Arith, the white Feien he'd met before. He waved to her. Arith chuckled softly and waved to Neruo, happy to see the feien again - with his very unique (and beautiful) colors. Looking to Sajhiri, she smiled softly "The pleasure is mine, also. Just a water too, myself - if you could kindly." Nerpin scratched under his chin, a wag of his tail can be caught also - thinking of his scedual. Looking to the miss once more - he gave a soft smile, white canines shown "Anyday, but not this weekend. I may be takin' Arith camping - and will be gone until the 2nd. After that, I should be fine to work a good bit". Jhiri smiled and waved at Ice and her bloom. "Welcome to the Tall Tales! Pull up a stool if you will. What can I get for you to drink, Miss Ice?" She pulled out a glass in case the woman wanted to order something, and then flitted her gaze back to LF.
"A barmaid or a cook would be a welcome addition. I'm hoping to have a few Feien offer their services as well, I even set up a Feien sized bar..." She gestured towards the little wooden bar on the other side of the room, a perfect miniature companion to the large one they were all sitting at for the moment.
Neruo's words drew her attention back close at hand and she nodded at him. "Oh of course, I understand that, but ah...one of my other companions has feelings about these sorts of things. They may just be jealous of a new arrival of course, but it wouldn't be like him to be that way. I think he's genuinely worried. I have hope that his worries will be unfounded though. It's such a lovely bloom afterall..."
She moved to fix a tiny glass of water for Arith as she nodded to Nerpin. "The 2nd would be lovely. I hadn't even intended to open so soon, but the day felt right, so I did." She looked among the myriad Feien and their caretakers. "Do all of you know one another?" Ice grinned. "A sprite, please. And I've met LF and Neruo, but I don't believe I've met Mr... um..." She paused, sitting down on one of the barstools and absently placing the blossom on the bar. "I didn't catch your name." LF waved to Ice. "I know you, Miss Icy. I've never met Nerpin, though. Nice to meet you!" She stood up and bowed to him, hoping to be as polite as possible. She then offered them the seats next to her. Neruo looked over at the bar. "I've never worked anywhere before," he said, "But I'll try if LF wants t try as well." He smiled to Arith and motioned her to come sit by him. He liked her, since she was so polite. Nerpin reached over with a hand out, smiling "Nerpin - just Nerpin. And yourself?" He asked politely, ears pinned forward in curiousity. Arith, with a sip of her drink, looked over to the blooms. Curious, she set her drink down, and fluttered to them. "How beautiful. They look so nice~" she said, looking at the red, then the black one. Being polite, she then sat next to Neruo - who happened to be close to the blooms. Jhiri poured a sprite for Ice and set it in front of her, wiping down the bar with her rag a bit. She peered at the crimson bloom she set there and hrmed. Digging under the bar a moment she came up with a small napkin lined woven basket. "Why don't you set it in here so it doesn't get wet or anything from stuff on the bar, Miss Ice."
She smiled warmly at Neruo. "That's great! Would you like to serve drinks or throw out ruffians or cook?" Kam pushed open the door just enough for Sunil to stomp in, her hands on her hips. Kam then whispered something through the door to Sunil and took off. Sunil eyed the people present and then jumped into the air to make a beeline for the bar, where she touched down and crossed her arms over her chest. Ignoring any and all conversations going on around her she spoke.
"I'd like to speak to whomever is in charge around here."
Sunil was trying to be polite, but it still came out as more of an order than a request. Ice shook his hand. "I'm Ice, I'm kind of new here." She turned, grinning at Jhiri. "Thanks. I keep forgetting about that." She turned, moving the blossom to the offered basket. She was about to say something when she heard Sunil speak. Sajhiri arched a brow at the demanding Feien, and she replied to Sunil with a cheery, "That would be me, Miss. What can I do for you? Would you like a drink or something to eat perhaps?" She raised a hand in greeting to kamtrouble as well.
She smiled at Ice. "No problem, I thought ahead on that. I figured a few folks might have small pets or breakables they'll want cushioned." Sunil looked straight up at Sajhiri, uncrossed her arms and put them back on her hips.
"No, I'm not here for something to eat or drink. My bondmate said you were hiring bouncers for a feien tavern. The job would be perfect for me. I'm excellent in a fight and it would be a good way for me to keep in shape. What do you say?" Sajhiri grinned at Sunil and nodded her head. "You certainly look fit enough for the task. I'll be happy to hire you on Miss...er...can I get your name please to add to the employee roster?" Nerpin looked down at the little Feien, smirking softly "Quite the tough sounding one, aren'tcha?" he started with a chuckle "Just watch it though - that impatientness could n** ya in the end." He knew what that entailed.. Sadly. Totally uncharacteristically, Sunil grinned.
"Sunil. And no need to call me Miss, no one considers me a lady or anything girly like that."
Sunil glared around at the other feien present. They better not step out of line or she would be happy to push them back in. Then she turned and looked at the human who had spoken to her.
"Oh yeah? Its served me well so far. Who are you anyway?" Neko's tail flicked left to right behind him, his ears perked up as he looked to the tavern from the outside. He had his left hand stuffed into his pocket, and his right was holding up the ninja headband that covered his right eye. A tavern? Here? Ares merely sat calmly on the demon hanyou's shoulder, wondering what the big deal was.
"It's just a tavern, Neko," she said softly, her wings fidgeting on her shoulders a little bit. "It's nothing special, right?" Neko sighed, closing his eyes as he ran a hand through his hair, pulling his bangs back only to have them fall back infront of his face. Of course she wouldn't understand, since he'd never told anyone of the household about the past he used to have.
"I used to run a tavern, Ares. And now, there's one here," he explained quietly, turning to walk away. "It's like somehow, I'm home again." Ares glanced back over her shoulder, wondering why they weren't going inside. "But, why not stop by?" "I will, later. Right now just isn't the time," he told her, smiling slightly. "That, and it probably wouldn't be the place for you. But if you insist on coming, I'll bring you along when I come back." Jhiri grinned. "All right, Sunil. This is Nerpin, another bouncer. I expect you two to work in concert in keeping folks from breaking up the place. Now then, does anyone want to try some of my special chocolate cake? It's double layer devil's food, with kahlua soaked into each layer, chocolate fudge icing, and heath bar crunch bits around the edges..." LF yawned and stood up, seeing Kam and Neko. "Hiya guys! What's up?" she asked, suddenly feeling very immature. She blushed and tried to think of something better to say... "I'll cook or serve drinks. Whichever you need more." Neruo said, playing with his hair. Jhiri beamed at Neruo. "Well how would you like to be a bartender? I think you'd do a wonderful job at it. It's a great way to get to meet and know others, as I discovered when I worked at *Washu*'s Subspace Saloon. Made a lot of good friends there, and they're still my good friends, patrons and employees both." Sunil stood around a little, but then seemed to get antsy and headed for the door.
"I'll be back, just gotta go take care of some things at home." Jhiri nodded to Sunil. "I have some things to handle myself up in the tower." Ah yes, the tower which casts it's shadow over the tavern for part of the day. Jhiri gathers up the vase and it's bloom and she heads out, leaving the tavern under the watchful eye of the Sphinx, her Mythos.

08.03.04 - Ugh! I've been sick for the last couple of days, so I moved the bloom into my room with me to protect it from any mishaps. I don't think I need have worried much, as Saevire was so panicked over my being ill, she didn't even notice the flower. I'm not sure if the bloom likes my room much though. It might be a bit too sunny for it, so I made sure to draw the heavy drapes.
I listened to a lot of Sarah MacLachlan, Matchbox 20, Five For Fighting, No Doubt, Garbage, and the CD of my dear friend Truly Carmichael, also known as Honorable Lady Eleanor Fairchild in the SCA circles. There's something mesmerizing about the haunting quality of her Faerie Lullaby that seemed to help relax and heal me. It creeped Cervus out very much though. Said it reminded him of the Moon Court and sent him scurrying out of the room and probably back to Tir Nan Og. Ah well. The bloom seemed to like it well enough I think. At least it didn't stretch away from the stereo like it did when I played the happier tunes.
Thank heavens for DVD players. I watched Godzilla 2000 and the entire Sword of the Berserk anime collection in bed when the twins weren't about, and watched Pirates of the Carribean and some other lighter films when they snuggled up with me and Caelestis. For being sick it was a rather pleasant experience, surrounded by this strange menagerie I call family. I think I'll head back to the tavern this evening and see how things are going there as well.
