1. Introduction

Greetings and salutation, this is the ultimate sticky for members and potential members of the Aussies Ahoy guild.

This thread is basically a four-part thread:
1. Introduction
2. New Members
3. Rules and Guidelines
4. Mod Help Desk

Just for a brief introduction to this whole concept, we are just a group of well meaning fools who like to hang out with each other and converse. We all met up in the original Aussies Ahoy thread, which was in General Discussion but has as since been moved to the Guilds forum.

If you are a new member, please do not make a thread announcing your arrival, post in the main chat thread, trust me, everyone will see it there anyhow.

Please do not post in this thread if you do not have a reason, it cannot be locked because of its function as a help desk, but we do not need or want clutter. With that said, if any member of the mod team wants to make ammendments to this thread, feel free 3nodding

Edit by Teikou: Felt that the contents should be in list form and not paragraph form as well as these posts being numbered for easier reference :3 Also removed "The" from title to keep in theme with most of our threads

Edit by Trjn: Added a bit about ToS violations to the last post.

2. Concerning New Members

If you are a new member and have recently been added to this happy happy place we call our guild, then welcome. If you wish to become a member good luck, either way, I advise you read this thread regarding joining.

As a quick summary of that thread, for those too lazy to read it (and I do not wish to cater to people like that, but I'm trying to be thourough, if you are too lazy to read a sticky I don't welcome you with open arms), all new members have a week to try this guild, and then they must pay a 1k entry fee into the guild treasury. Failure to do so will get you banned from the guild, its just one of those rules we have.

Also, posting in the orginal Aussies Ahoy thread will increase your chances marginally of being accepted, we are a tight-knit group here, you must befriend us to get in.

3. Rules and Guidelines

The rules here are reasonably simple. So instead of boring everyone with details, here is a short bullet list, most of it is common sense, and the best way to stay clear of getting in trouble is to remember, when in doubt, ask. This sticky is also a psuedo helpdesk, for anything that needs the attention of mod team, or you can ask in the main thread.

On to the list of rules.
  • Don't Spam. (If you need further elaboration, please go here.)
  • Don't create unnecessary threads, we have pretty much everything covered, we don't need the clutter of new threads. A lot of topics can simply be covered in the main chat thread instead of getting their own threads.
  • Follow the ToS and Rules and Guidelines. Everyone who is in here paid to be in here and don't want some little asshat making us lose our guild because they couldn't follow the rules.
  • Did I mention not to spam?

4. The Mod Help Desk

The final function of this thread is to be a mod help desk, much in the style of the original AA mod help desk. This thread has the same rules as that one, you must read them before posting in here, the rules can be found in the first post of the previously linked to thread.

The idea is simple, we don't have access to the report system in the guilds, so to draw our attention to anything that requires modly attention, post here. Be specific, you don't necessarily need to give links, and whatnot, but names and places would be great. Saying "someone posted *rule breaking post X* in *thread Y*" isn't enough, sure we will see it, but preferably, I would like it if people went along the lines of "*Person X* posted *rule breaking post Y* in *thread Z*".

And of course, seeing as we are all good honest citizens, that won't happen often, there is also the other purpose of using this as a Q&A style thread, not like the forum, we prefer people to go there if they have a problem with Gaia in itself, but more if you have a question like "is it okay for me to make a thread on *subject X*?"

If for some ungodly reason there is a ToS violation or something of the sort, PM a Gaia Moderator (Dedicated Moderator for preference), or myself (I happen to be in contact with a few) so that it can get sorted out and the user responsible warned/banned.

I think this whole thing is reasonably self explanatory, so all is well.
